Note that when using Surgical Extraction, you don't actually have to remove *all* copies. You can always fail to find when you're searching a hidden zone. So it's actually awesome. Same with the blue counterspells that exile all copies.... You can choose to exile any number from your library or hand, even if it says to exile all.
Small note - Garruk's Uprising won't work with Slime Against Humanity. It triggers only when a creature with power 4 or greater enters, the Slimes enter as 0/0's so the draw won't get put on the stack. Elemental Bond also won't work for the same reason. Tribute to the World Tree will work though because it checks the creature's power as the ability resolves on the stack, by which time the ooze token will have the counters on it.
the tokens do enter with the +1/+1 counters, so they would trigger garruk's uprising as long as they come in with 4 counters. they have to enter with the counters on them, or they would die to state based actions due to having 0 base toughness.
While mill is the obvious choice for this deck I was also thinking about building mine going with a Gruul commander, mostly to take advantage of impulse draw: Normally once you impulse draw you're done but since Slime specifically mentions it counts even on exile then you can just do one of the *many* impulse draw red effects. There's also some red copy spell effects (Not as much as in Izzet but some mono-red still) so getting in some of those mages to just double up on a single Slime cast than then doubles up the creatures and the counters with doubling season sounds like a nice plan at least on paper.
Gruul is a really great fit for a lot of what SAH wants to do, impulse draw was something that I thought about a lot but didn't get to delve into in the runtime - the option of just leaving Slimes in exile is HUGE
I have much more to inevitably comment in regards to multiple things, as you're definitely my favorite new video creator, but I just had to comment when I heard you say that Bant was your favorite shard. I knew you had good taste (unless that was sarcasm, in which case I still respect your tastes)!! :P
ack, I’m so sorry for the late response. Time got away from me. That’s amazing though, I love it! I actually just started playing commander in September, and Brenard from Wilds of Eldraine was the first deck I made and is still my favorite. The color identity also kinda matches my lefty idealism pretty well, hah, so it was a natural fit. Regardless, I am always excited to see new videos from you, and I hope your day goes well!
No worries, good to hear from you! What a great time to get into the format, and Bernard is an awesome design to start with! There's definitely something special about your first deck, and seeing how it evolves and grows with you as a player! Can definitely relate to the idealism of the colour combo, and how it often creates advantage for you without interfering too heavily with others! Thanks so much, hoping you do too!!
I was thinking of making a Codie, Vociferous Codex deck, with Slime againt Humaity making up most of the "Creature" spells, since you can't cast permentents with him. Since it's also only 3 mana to play, it'll also be realtivly easy to psudeo-cascade into it as well.
I built a self mill deck in Sultai. Originally did 40, but reduced it to 30. Tasigur, the Golden Fang is the Commander, I find it very flexible surprisingly, and I use Thrumming Stone, and Spellweaver Helix.
@ANGRYGREENMTG New for me too, but it allows you to play a free copy when you play SAH if you imprint it with Two copies. It still counts if the imprinted copies are exiled.
I run them in bant with falco spara, here's some blue tech i've discovered: Nanogene conversion becomes a one sided board wipe that can kill undying and indestructable creatures for 4 by turning everything into 0/0s and removing their abilities. Goodbye Jerard :3 Foresight and Manipulate fate are hidden gems of old cards that are usless in every other deck, but perfect for us. and I run them with agatha's soul cauldron so all my slimes can have the activated abilities of cards like experiment one and sage of hours. I haven't gotten to soul cauldron the sage yet though And if anybody else runs white, Tarif and single combat are great too because our slimes get around their punishments.
I'm also brewing a Slime Against Humanity build right now with Cecily, Haunted Mage + Elmar, Ulvenwald Informant. 35 copies of SAH, and a couple of fun cards like Harness the Storm, Pyromancer Ascension, Arcane Bombardment, Spellweaver Helix, Lost Legacy and Test of Talents (countering your own SAH and drawing a bunch of cards afterwards sounds fair, right?).
I'm making a PDH deck (commander, but the 99 must be common, and your commander is an uncommon creature which doesn't have to be legendary) with Persistent Petitioners and Slime Against Humanity. The commander is Wood Sage, which lets you draw your petitioners while dumping slimes to the yard. Then the Petitioners will churning through your deck, pumping up slimes.
Very cool! How many Slimes do you run and how many instants to make sure you have a constant stream of targets for the trigger? I'd love to see a decklist!
For my slime deck I play a midrange tasigur list. I play around 20, and it feels pretty great. I can delve them away to cast tasigur and I always get them back off his ability due to the quality of the cards my opts dont want to give me
I was looking at Wort, The Raidmother as a commander for SAH, using a few other of red's double spellcast or cast from graveyard effects. My ultimate fear, though, and probably the fear that leads me to never make the deck, is that games won't feel very diverse. I'm not sure how this deck solves that problem.
I think these sorts of cards lend themselves to building a couple of decks around the core of the card itself and then swapping, rather than the other way around - not much variety to be found in a deck where 35 cards are the same every time!
Other notable "card names matter" type cards: Sphinx of the Chimes, Twinning Glass, and Nantuko Shrine (the once super cheap card that skyrocketed in price once SAH was spoiled). There was ooooone more token doubler you didn't mention. Kaya, Geist Hunter offers a one time shot of token doubling if you're playing Abzan+. Here are some commanders I thought of to use that weren't mentioned: Esix, Fractal Bloom turns each SAH into a copy target creature while also pumping the copy. Xavier Sal, Infested Captain can copy tokens AND proliferate, although I'm not sure making a copy of a 0/0 is very good. Tayam, Luminous Enigma is a counters matters type commander that helps mill yourself and offers permanent based recycling. In green white, you mentioned Okinec Ahau, but I think Kutzil, Malamet Exemplar is a better fit. Kutzil offers card draw if your slimes connect, and has a grand abolisher type effect that can protect your turns when trying to land your big ticket pieces like a token doubler or thrumming stone.
These are all really great suggestions! I really need to get a copy of Xavier Sal, I was very excited for it when it got revealed but haven't taken the leap yet!
I'm building mine to be a G/R spellslinger deck heaps of spells to recast copies over and over. And finish the game with either the trample or ping/fling effects.
My friend is building a slime against humanity deck with krark and reyhan. it has 35 slimes 35 lands and 28 other cards. i forget all the other stats at the moment
@@ANGRYGREENMTG I will ask, but I can 100% garuntee that his deck is not cedh, since we typically play at an upgraded precon power level and every time we played so far, the krark xx rehyan slime against humanity deck is on the weaker end of our playgroup power level

That's really interesting, I didn't realise that! Thanks for the info!
its actually not failing to find, but more so that the effect says ANY NUMBER. so you choose how many to look for.
@@wildman274 true but this applies to even to effects that say "remove all copies"

Codie is a really great choice and Slime definitely solves the normal problem of not being able to amass much of a boardstate!

You may want to consider Jaheira, Friend of the Forest, which allows tokens to tap for green.
