@sriley53sr. Nothing is stopping you. Practice 2-3 hours every night instead of watching videos. Nobody gave him those skills, he earned them through hard work.
I remember coming home, red eyed, and a bit deaf, from a gig early one morning, and there were lights flashing behind me, with the horn beeping. When the guy got me to pull over he said the same thing, he said "It's like it's on a rubber band!!". It was my keyboard just sitting there, on the trunk of the car, where I left it, when I carried it out of the pub. The little rubber nibs on the bottom saved it from sliding from the trunk, I think. 😉
Wow Mr. Bolton, as a fellow musician, I'm a professional keyboardist by the way,...I am very impressed by your amazing musical gift! Your execution of your parts, from your live drum programming, to your rhythm guitar parts, lead guitar parts and solos, your keyboard work, and your vocals, all placed together seamlessly, left me speechless! 😮Bravo! 👏
Best looping/one man band I've heard live or on YT. Sounds like a real band behind his great vocals. "plus" he's got rhythm! Oh yeah, stellar recording/PA output.
Super talented and yet, he spent the entire set thinking about whether he should hire a pro to come out and fix his garage door opener or whether he should save the money and try to fix it himself. Which in more ways than one, explains exactly why when I realized I had other options, I opted out of trying to eek out a living as a 'local entertainer'. Its a thankless job that you get to where you can kinda do on autopilot both to your own amazement and everyone else, And you soon realize that as amazing as what you're able to do is, no one is ever going to pay you what you're truly worth to do it. So guys like him that are still doing it, are NOT doing it for the money. They're doing it because they've decided they need to do it regardless of how much they make. So if you see him, tip him well. He deserves it.
This guy is AMAZING. The audience should be in awe, I don't understand their lack of appreciation. The pauses between songs are necessary because he gives a crap. He wants to get the backing instruments absolutely perfect and he triggers them while plating and singing... Mind Blown 🤘🤘
I just found this young man's YT channel. He has musical instrument, vocal and looping skills...ALL of them, in spades! We would watch and listen to this guy play music all day or night long. Very skilled and impressive indeed. 👍💪🎯
Excellent multi-instrumentalist, excellent voice, well-calibrated sounds, today's instruments allow excellent performances as long as you know how to use them correctly. Excellent
Technically he is using backing tracks. He's using a looper pedals, recording a phrase and then playing back and overdubs to add extra layers and adds live parts from time to time. Very talented, its harder than it looks. He could be a air tradfic controller.
My uncle Ray Roberson did this in the 70's - 80's. He played Bars and Holiday Inns as a 1 man band. He had everything in 1 rolling oak cabinet. He made it big in the Houston, TX area, but never BIG in the industry. Karaoke came out and put an end to singers/entertainers and the like.
I can create the same sounds as this in my home studio. The problem is it takes me about 2 months per song. With this guy it's about 30 seconds of button pressing. I'm annoyed with myself and happy for him.
❤Brilliant. Throughly enjoyed. Admire your configuration of pedal board and looping, sound great. Keep gping, reach for the stars. Balan Pillay Sugar Candy, South Africa
Even without a looper, you’re an incredible musician and it’s much more fun to play with “people” who show up to rehearsal and aren’t late and play what people want to hear.
Incroyable, un orchestre à lui tout seul, il faut une sacrée mémoire de toutes les positions de ses instruments, les connaître par cœur et en plus d'être poly instrumentiste, bravo !
For those of you who think this is impossible, let’s break it down. As with any song, there are chords and there are lyrics. When we use a looper, the looper decides the arrangement of the song. Just like making any other arrangement, we need to decide how many measures each instrument will play. He starts with the drums because of course that’s the easiest fundamental. And look and listen; he plays the drums for exactly 4 measures, and those four measures will repeat throughout the song. After he plays 4 measures, he uses his foot to turn off the looper for the drums. Later in this song when he wants to put in the drum fills, he kicks the on button for the drums with his foot and plays the fill. He then turns the looper off. How do we know when that drum fill will be heard again? Let’s say he put that fill in at one minute and 20 seconds from the very beginning. That means that drum fill will repeat every one minute and 20 seconds throughout the entire song. Are you getting the hang of it? He sings two verses, and then plays a piano solo. He does not click on the looper because he does not want to hear that solo repeated…. but now there are options. Let’s say he plays the piano solo at two minutes and 30 seconds from the beginning of the song. That means we will hear it again two minutes and 30 seconds from the end of the first piano solo performance. Show owners show forth. Good luck.
This dude is amazing! I sure hope he's making plenty of good money. I would love to see him on America's got talent so more people in the world can see how amazing he is. Good luck bro! Stay with it. You are on your way to fame and fortune. 👍🏽
Hey my friend, I been in music for 62 years, I still play, but very little. You have a great thing going there. And you sound great!!! >>>> Keep on..... Keeping on.....
