Two trims for difference people. The trailsport also has front and rear skid plates, it is lifted 1 inch, and it has a better AWD vs the touring. If you want to do rough forest service roads for camping and still have a nice highway ride then it is perfect. If your SUV will never ever see dirt then the touring is for you.
When I test drove the pilot I had the same pause in the 3rd row - 'how do I get in or out efficiently?' Glad to see you left that in the video so we all can understand it's not a sooth process.
I wish Honda would revive the Element badge and just build a true off-road rival to the Wrangler, 4Runner, and Bronco. The iVTM system has proven very capable in lots of snow and dirt testing I've seen. With the right tires and locking differentials, Honda could truly make a formidable offering. And Acura could also benefit to rival the GX with SLX/Trooper sized offering.
Sucks for people like me who want a Trailsport, want to put 5 people in 1st 2 rows, and cargo in the back. Don't tell me to buy Passport, because I need the extra cargo room with occasional 3rd row passengers. Bench seating should be an option on all trims. Also really weird that Canada doesn't get some equipment available in the U.S. on same trims.
Then get the Elite b/c it comes with the off-road software/drivetrain and the luxuries you want. It just doesn't come with the all terrain tires and 18-inch wheels.
Something that struck my eye is the Honda sat pretty flat on his steep angled driveway. Tells me the suspension is very strong. Personally, I'm looking forward to the '24 Passport Elite.
@@EverydayReviews2022You wouldn't buy this Honda Trail sport. So am I.... Your house behind you I Wouldn't buy either.... For short, everyone is different 😅😂
I like the underslung spare tire. It allows for a full size. And you don't need to unload cargo to access the spare, unlike vehicles that stow the spare under the floor inside the vehicle.

Question on the hitch. Looks like it sticks out from the bumper. Is it flush with the bumper? Or recessed within it? Or does it stick out a bit. Thanks!
The best thing I noticed about this vehicle is the drive and the seats. It feels like you're on nimbus. Overall, I love this vehicle and would buy it again.
Great review and I totally agree. I don't understand why Japanese/Korean manufactures don't offer options ala carte or offer off road trim with all the options. I want the TrailSport with the top options.
Yes, Kudos to Honda for offering a bench seat in some trims, including the top Elite trim. So many other brands force you to accept captains chairs if you want all the goodies (top trims.) It's maddening, because it eliminates Hyundai, Kia, Toyota, Mazda, and likely others.
@@BORNGEARHEAD You are clearly the majority opinion because otherwise more brands would let me have my 2nd row bench seat in their top trims. I'm not doing it because I don't like bench seats, it's just that with 3 kids, I don't want to stick one of them in the 3rd row, taking up valuable cargo space, and also isolating them from everyone else, and finally giving that one kid the worst ride in the house.

What an awesome suv! Finally more of a truck vibe than a minivan vive like the previous gen. One other different between what's available in Canada vs US, no rear heated seats for US version in trailsport.
If U.S. didn't have 360 camera I would agree. As far as the other bells and whistles I prefered the trailsport over an elite for the cost and I also preferred captain 7 seats. Maybe because very few rivals are doing hybrid in this segment, it's just Toyota and Ford. Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, and VW don't offer hybrid for their 3-row SUVs either, but they are not losing sales due to that.
I’m not sure that the extra thousand pounds of batteries would help this thing off road. The reality is many of us want old-school internal combustion engine until the government forces us out of it
So it's just a 6-passenger SUV with a mini van open tailgate. Pass, I could buy Toyata 4 Runner Limited or Lexus GX 460 for the same price with 8-passenger seating.
Hard to understand how they force you to get 2 seats in the 2nd row and then they squeeze 3 in the smaller 3rd row. Honda has always had some foolish configurations though. Congrats on the subscribers!
I agree with you regarding which trim to buy. I'm not really an off-roader, but I could see myself driving one *if* it had (or could be optioned to include) all the goodies in the Elite (I'm in the U.S.)
Trailsport to Honda is Wilderness is to Subaru. Its not the most mainstream nor most popular model in their model range. Follow the regular service interval for the timing belt and it will be fine. If you buy one used, change the timing belt if it's anywhere near the service interval.
