Love this bike. I raised the handlebars, switched out the seat and removed the speed limiter. Does great on hills, and hits 25 mph on flat roads. No gears necessary. An amazing value.

should have gone up the hill.
dont need another entry level ebike but at $450, I couldnt pass it up.
at that price, i can probably ride it for a while and sell it for a profit.

Good review and I noticed it was cadence only. It seems like a good bike for pedaling exercise with motor assist for the hills. Price seems right and you certainly described its abilities well without any overhype. The camera gave us subscribers some great crisp videos - well done.

fatbikes need gears for sure unless you have strong motor or dont have any hills or ride in sand etc.

A tall single speed would be the deal breaker for me. If I had it, I'd be starting up on throttle only and not bother pedaling until I get up to speed. I always thought of the Mission as a city bike, and I don't think I'd take it off road, but I am surprised that the tires are bigger than expected. Most Rad bikes have that wiring next under the crank, but I have to say they are darn good at sealing. I've ridden a RadMini in steady rain for hours, take on real mountain bike trails, get it covered in mud and slush, then spray it off with the hose when I get home. Never had an issue in 2000 miles, so the wiring underneath may not be pretty, but it does it's job well. Those thick reinforcements where the wiring enters the frame are good to see. The Super 73 could use reinforcements like that.

Thanks fir the comment. RadMini is probably the best bike in the game for the price. This one shares its simplicity and modest quality fir sure.

Definitely not a dirt bike but definitely capable of light trails. For sure.

NO! The Radmission (1 speed e-bike) is NOT tall geared. The 50 tooth front sprocket divided by the 16 tooth rear is a gear of 3.83. The Ride1Up Core-5 is tall geared for high speed riding with a 44 tooth front sprocket and 11 tooth(range of this 7 speed e-bike is 11T-32T) rear sprocket yielding a gear ratio of 4.00

.......'the tires are bigger than expected'?!? NO! they are NOT! They are slender tires of 1.95" width

I've had mine for a week now and love it!..I put a more comfortable seat on it and raised the bars and it's a blast for the casual bikepath and seawall riding I enjoy doing...

I'm not really sold on this RAD bike. I like their fat bikes but a no suspension fixed gear ebike has a lot of limitations. Maybe its lighter weight without the fluff and would be good for an apartment or something.

    • @TheFrickinShredder
      @TheFrickinShredder  3 года назад +1

Yes I think it would be good for a teenager or 20-something who lives in a walkup and needs to commute to work. :)

of course it has limitations, that's why it's only $1k ($900 right now). It was my first e bike and it's a great affordable commuter. It was a fantastic entry level e bike for me and yes, it's perfect for the apartment. I got a suspension post and a more comfortable seat which helps a lot and the simplicity of the fixed gear is actually quite nice. It's light weight, has good range and battery life, good tires, and just has great value at $900.

just bought for $450 direct from radpower
      and added the $6 kickstand.
already have a 350w ebike with 21 speeds that i dont usually use aside from tallest chainring and smallest rear cog, front susp, digital speedo/controls but could not pass on $450.
i imagine the motor is about the same as the 350w just with 48v run through it and probably not bafang like my other.

I would prefer a belt drive for a single gear ebike

Because of whatever you buy from this company, there's no return. Better off at Walmart.

the problem with returns for ebikes is people are too fucking lazy to read or research so they order something they dont like because they didnt read and then think theyre entitled to a free return shipping label.
shipping a bike is quite expensive and people order them like some $12 amazon item expecting a company to pay return shipping.
the only time an ebike return should be free is if too much of the bike or parts are defective to where shipping/installing parts isnt feasible.
