I was able to fix my Dyna Glo Pro 210K BTU heater thanks in part to your video, so 2 thumbs up! It may be worth mentioning that the vanes on the rotor are not square, but slightly rectangle shaped, and it is possible to put them back in wrong and still have low air pressure and a no fire condition, even though they move freely. I discovered this the hard way and had to disassemble it again. I only had one vane in the correct way and three the wrong way. Put back together a second time and it ran great. Thanks again for the video!

Mine was doing everything fine apart from firing, the igniter was working, checked the pump vanes, all good. I found the pipe that goes onto the back of the air gauge was split, it goes through a sharp hole in the metal pump mount, I picked up some 1/4" fuel hose, re-routed it under the pump mount so it's not near any sharp edges, also replaced the fuel pipe into the tank whilst I was there, all working spot on now 😀

I’m glad to see you got this fixed! In My experience the nozzle is usually the best place to start on oil fired heaters. Also as you figured out that little white tube is a safety to keep it from running without the shroud on.

I think I finally found the video that will help me with my problem. My pump is not pumping air. I already did all those other tests and they are fine. So I will try to sand down that aluminum plate. There is actually a stain on the plate that looks like it used to have a gasket. But I haven't found out any information about a gasket existing. Mine is Reddy heater 60,000 BTU unit. Thanks for the video. You did a great job with it.

Really a good, comprehensive video. I'm having the same problems. I did notice the types of fuel, BTU output, and pressure are listed on the cover plate. Also, the top cover can easily be pushed out of shape by leaning on it. This presses the inside of the cover on to the fan blades binding them and not allowing it to spin.

So no it runs, but only for 8 min 45 seconds, then shuts off and gives a huge black puff smoke.
I have gotten it to run for 10. 08 and 13.45s
Thoughts? Getting same E1 FAULT. Headed towards jet orifice cleaning.

Nice video! I bought a 125K BTU Torpedo version to use in a 24 x 40 ft out building I guess 5 to 7 years ago. That out building never saw any heat... I did end up using it to thaw water pipes on 1 house / over 1 winter / took all of 20 minutes once setup / then it got stored for several years. Back then I never thought to drained the 5+ gallons of kerosene I had dumped in it. :( I was new to these style heaters...... They sound like they use gobs of fuel.... Just got it out today to get ready for our upcoming winter after forgetting I had it... Just drained ( the old turpentine ) and rinsed the fuel tank with fresh K1. Going to use some simple green and clean the heater chassis all over before I pull the fuel filter. Fuel cap internals were a rusty mess.. I'll grab my Dremel and wire brush bit and see if it can be saved. Hopefully cleaning the fuel items will be enough to bring mine back to life since it only had less than 1 hour on it when stored away improperly... If not I know where to look next..

I have what I think is a Dayton, big red dual handle torpedo kerosene heater. I changed out the ignitor and cleaned the veins , spark plug
etc, but it starts right up and runs good for about 10 minutes and then it dies down until it starts flaming out and spits fluid and I pull the plug, if I let it set it will crank right up and fail again in a few minutes. any ideas ??? thanks for your time. model 3E219

I have a very nice heater I need help with please. I have a KFA 220DGD dual heat Dyna Glo Delux. It is suppose to have 6.5# on low heat and 8.5# on high heat. I can barely get it up to 6# with both adjustment screws turned all the way in and have tried everything which I will share with you. I need help in finding the cause for this low air pressure problem please.
I have cleaned the nozzle, eye and ignitor, fuel and air lines. I have cleaned the rotor and vanes and lubricated with dry silicone and properly gapped the rotor. I have flat sanded the air pump housing on both sides as well as the back of the end plate and sanded and cleaned the back plate of the fan motor, installed new filters and have applied thread tape to every screw and connection. None of this helped so I purchased a new air pump ring and a new end plate and a new rotor and vanes and reassembled and no change. I have also tried running an entirely different end plate and filters on the pump assembly just to see if there would be any change and nothing different, about 6#
I have used every trick in my playbook and am at a loss for finding the problem and this is the first heater I have ever worked on that one or more of my fixes has not corrected the problem.
I hope you can help me. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you might have.

The newer torpedo heaters, the ignitor shuts off after its lit..
i had two install the push button for the ignitor.
i CANT SEE PUTTING MORE WEAR & TEAR ON THE IGNITOR, OR PREMATURE FAILTURE...
Since there is no such circuit to shut off the ignitor.. the push button fixes that problem
THERE IS NO NEED TO HAVE THE IGNITOR SPARKING CONSTANTLY AFTER IT LITS UP...
turn heater on , push the button one time to kick in IGNITOR for few seconds then it shuts off after release of button...
Ir will last longer... since it wont be sparking constantly...
THE SAME GOES FOR THE DIESEL HOME FURNACES, THE NEWER ONES, THE IGNITOR COMES ON FOR FEW SECONDS THEN AFTER ITS RUNNING & SEES FLAME, THE IGNITOR DISCONNECTS......

Likely, when these have sat. Check hoses first for cracks, then look to see if Vanes are stuck. That's 80% of the problems.

it is illegal to use kerosene in Massachusetts can i use Diesel fuel like ive been told? and if yes then what if it doesn't ignite? which is the issue im having........

    • @jungleking007Channel
      @jungleking007Channel  3 года назад

Wow didn't know that one. Might as well outlaw diesel too since they are so close to each other in fuel characteristics...but I digress. Yes, diesel can run through these but not advisable. it's a little more dense and requires a finer spray to burn correctly, and is more toxic when used for an extended period of time. Using diesel is a last resort, or temporary solution only. Kerosene is preferred.

Are you seeing fuel spray out the nozzle? You should see fuel spray out the nozzle if you are getting pressure. If not, check the pressure hose to the nozzle is secure, as well as the fuel hose. Any leak points will fail to draw and spray the fuel.

Do yourself a favor and add Seafoam to your fuel before you store it for the summer months (or dump it out and get new fuel) You'll thank yourself when you hit the switch the first time during a cold winter morning when a little blast of heat would feel real good! And try to get yourself one of the heaters that burn diesel. Diesel burns hotter (gives off more BTUs per gallon) It's also alot cheaper than kerosene.

So much wasted effort and money here. These things are so basic and so much information out there on how to diagnose and repair these properly! 9PSI????? 3.5-5 at the most! Try to find another video source from someone who has a better understanding of mechanics and how these operate!

For the smaller heaters you would be correct on the pressure, but this one is a higher BTU rated unit so 8-9 psi would be recommended, per the manual. I'd suggest you read one before commenting next time.
