Rex was a true hard man for Manly in the 50s and 60s, sent off and penalised many times for everything short of murder ,and him criticising anyone for foul play is hypocritical , and surely done to get a rise out of Tommy. TV footy gold.
I remember Tommy breaking his thumb, seeing it strapped here. During the match he just walked near the sideline and pushed it back into place and then kept playing. Must’ve needed treatment later it would seem.
