I always loved Dave as a player what a unit and great to see him looking and sounding so healthy. I always loved the old grounds, I got to play on Cumberland Oval in a rep team in 1979 and got to work at Leichhardt Oval when I was with St George Illawarra Versus Wests-Tigers which was so cool you couldn't stand up straight in half of the visitors change room as it was under the bottom of the grandstand lol! I had to wait until I was with Sydney Uni in the Shute Shield to visit North Sydney Oval for a game and it has got to be my favorite spot to do battle what a place!
He makes a good point- the AFL has leveraged old clubs when moving them to other cities, but whether that would work with the Bears is open to debate. Has the owner of the Central Coast Mariners been sounded out as a potential buyer? I'm sure the vast majority of Norths fans would rather they relocate a few kms up the road than the other side of the country!
