- NO NEED TO GO BUY ANOTHER PATTERN JUST TO HAVE THIS SLEEVE!! In this video, I address all the details in how to slash and cut a pattern to the proper ratio to replicate this sleeve using your existing sleeve pattern. The idea for this style of sleeve was copied directly from an adorable t-shirt top that I saw in Europe in summer 2021. What makes this sleeve stand out from other flutters, are the gathers at the sleeve cap!
The pattern for the top I'm using here is called the 'Sweater Set' by Silhouette patterns. Instead of making a cardigan from this, you cut the center front on the fold. Also, ensure your neckline is where you want it. I put a black neckband on the neck edge to finish, but you could also just turn the neck edge under and stitch with a 'stretch' stitch of some sort. You can use ANY knit shirt pattern that fits you though.

So glad this was helpful. Thanks for watching!
I Love this sleeve!!! I made one as a young mom and have been looking for a pattern. Thank you so very much!!! Do you have the original pattern for that top??
I'm so glad you found my video, so you can make this sleeve. The top I'm using in this video is from Silhouette Patterns. I'll post the link up in the description because I'm not sure I can do that here. It uses a French dart, but you could use ANY tshirt pattern that fits you.
How would I make a flutter sleeve that appears to be the same length all around my bicep? as opposed to looking shorter on the outside? Thank you.
Hi! You would need to draw the center part of the sleeve length longer. How much longer? To answer that question, the best way to know would be for you to make a sample sleeve and try different lengths of the center sleeve. I don’t know if there’s a mathematical formula or not, but trial and error would be what I’d try! Thanks for watching!
@@SewDarnedFun Got it! Sincere thanks for your time and thought :)
