This is, by far the BEST speech ANYONE has EVER said about Michael in history. Not even his own FAMILY spoke about him in this way. I'm not a Madonna fan, but I respect her for the way she spoke about Michael. God bless them both.

well it was easy for her to give such a coherent speech thanks to the distance between them. the family was completely crushed (like Janet at the BET awards)

It makes sense Michael would have reached out to Madonna. There were only few people who lived similar lives as him and would treat him like a human being. Janet told him he would have to either be with someone equally famous as him or find someone that doesnt know who the heck he is.

I have to disagree. I think the best comments made were by Elizabeth Taylor and Diana Ross. While Michael was STILL alive.

I am not a huge fan of Madonna (I don't know her enough), but she made one of the most relatable and honest speeches about Michael Jackson ever. A contrary to some so-called friends who are with you for the good times only, Madonna admitted that many people abandoned Michael Jackson when he needed them, including her ! Even though Madonna and Michael weren't always the best friends ever (nor the sworn enemy of each other), there's a kind of respect between them. I think Madonna truly misses Michael Jackson, as a rival and a human being.

Probably because she was honest. You dont hear any other celebrities admitting to the fact that they abandoned Michael. Everyone is so caught up in the tributes celebrities are paying to him no one stops to think that where where they (his contemporaries and the younger artist he inspired) when he was being crucified by the tabloids and media. She called them out on their and HER own hypocrisy.

We all killed Michael Jackson. The media has the greatest blame. Then all of Michael's "friends" who were not there for him during his darkest days. Then the rest of the world who never knew him but believed all the media bullshit and crucified him. Meanwhile Michael Jackson continued to love all people and maintained his humanity and his humility up until the end.

They have no fucking excuse. Then again, it is well known that most Hollywood types have no conscience whatsoever.

FINALLY!!!! It took a celebrity to call out other celebrities on their BS. Yes they all cry now but where were they when MJ was being crucified by the tabloids? Madonna not only called out Hollywood on their hypocrisy but her own as well, it takes alot to admit that you were wrong in passing unfair judgment. We normal humans cant even do that in our daily mundane lives so imagine what it takes for someone like Madonna to do that on live television in front of the Jackson family nonetheless. It is the silence of our friends that sting and hurt us more than the words of our enemies.

Abel Alvarez Madonna isn't the equal to MJ by any means...she is close, perhaps the closest...but still far off. That's like saying a peanut and a grape are the closest to a peanut butter sandwich when you have a peanut, a grape, a rock, a spoon, a hippo, and a grasshopper. The peanut and grape aren't on the same level as the pb and j sammich, but it's closer than squishing a grasshopper onto the sweaty back of a hippo and licking it.

Madonna is about to break all the records in the history of music. not as talented as MJ but look with talent or not in this moment she is stll here and no other woman has done what she did. that`s for me the equal of king,, this time the queen will be bigger man. even you like it or not,, and forget about PB&J.

I wish more people, (other celebrities and the media) had the courage and character to acknowledge they too had turned their backs on him. This speech was so needed! I remember the spin some in the media tried to place on this speech by saying it was all about "her" and she was so "self-absorbed". That was their way of negating the truth she spoke. What she was doing was showing the parallels between she and Michael, which doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out. I hope the majority of the viewing audience understood her message and hopefully learned from it.

The media tried to twist her speech so they wouldn't have to admit their guilt. And probably that's why so many artists don't say these things. They are protecting their careers. +Ephraim Nana Antwi I care about Prince and he is a part of the renewal and reawakening of music and the industry in the 80's. Prince was trying to bring awareness and espousing slavery and the lack of ownership of a artist master tapes from Warner Brothers Records almost a decade before MJ began to expose Sony on the very same grievance. It's only because Prince changed his style of music that you don't see the scope of his popularity anymore. I'm pretty sure that he prefers a smaller fan base with freedom of creativity to being made a slave to the rhythm. Prince in many respects a musical genius in his own right.

I have been dancing to his music since I was 4 with Thriller. 34 years ago that was, and I still dance to his music (though age is sneeking into my knees a bit) But when I am working at work, or on my game at home....when I need some inspiration, I bring out the Jackson. (Love Janet more though lol)
It amazes me some that Michael still pulls in new fans every single year. I am grateful I was able to grow up in the right generation, and see it all.
I think on the bad speaking in the early 90's when they dated, that was almost 25 years ago. People change. I think she has grief for Michael, and that is why she came to these pointed statements. I think also she brought to everyones face that they HAD abandoned him. That she HAD abandoned him. It can be a very devistating feeling that you feel you turned away from someone, and now they are gone. Did you have something to do with that by turning my back on him. At least that is how I feel this was meant.

It’s a shame because I actually think he did respect her and liked her a great deal in the beginning. In the rabbi tapes, he sounded more disappointed than anything to be honest. Maybe a bit bitter too.

MJ's version of their date was a lot different, but I think it had a lot to do with his own awkward insecurity about dating. Nevertheless, wouldn't it have been something special if those two would've gotten together either professionally or romantically? Who knows, they might have even had a baby. I'm sure it would've been a beautiful child. Lourdes is gorgeous and the boys are handsome.
