My first console! Loved Astrosmash, soccer. space battle but Armor battle was my fav. Laying invisible mines while a friend chases you was the best. Boom!
Some great games off the top of my head: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Lock 'n' Chase, Beamrider, Burger Time, Tron Deadly Discs, Space Battle, Bump 'n' Jump, Space Spartans.
Surprised you didn't have any of the classic Mattel games (ie: Tron Deadly Discs, Night Stalker, Astrosmash, Space Armada, Burger Time, sports titles, etc.) which were the charm of the system IMO. (MOTU came later.) At any rate, there are some goodies here and I still enjoyed the video.
This was just a taster, these are the only games I could get working. The hope is I’ll get lots of recommendations as to kit/emulation and games to play. Part 2 coming soon 😉
@@ClassicReplay Sure thing. Looking forward to another. Best emulators for me: jzintv, Nostalgia and Bliss. Terrific games like Tron Deadly Discs and Night Stalker would need mapping with the NumPad but will work great. Talk to you later. Subbed.
The sports games were the best for its time. I remember in the late 70's/early 80s being in a Crazy Eddie in Brooklyn NY and they had NBA Basketball on display, and I was used to playing Atari Basketball and didn't have Intellivision. I thought Intellivision's NBA Basketball was the best thing I'd ever seen.
The Intellivision came out in 1979, so it could have been before the 80s you played it. It sold over half a million copies, so very popular even buy todays standards and was licensed by the NBA. I think another basketball game was released later for the Intellivision and that improved things. Thanks for watching and sharing your story.
Interesting. I bought the Coleco, and this 10 yrs ago. But sold them soon after. Just the interest at the beginning, when bought. I liked the Coleco more.
The flicker on the screen is an emulation problem. The real Intellivision doesn't do that (nor does the Intellivision core do that on the MiSTer FPGA (hardware emulation as opposed to software emulation).
A great console, and at the time, VCS owners did feel a little envious. Playing now though, and it's clear the VCS games often played much better, smoother scrolling, more polished feel to them. Probably due to the architecture and how they had to program it. Intellivision was still an excellent machine with some very cool games, though. Btw have you not played VCS version of Atlantis? Absolutely brilliant game.
VCS games weren't often better. It was the other way around: A few off the top of my head that were better on the Intellivision, with better graphics and / or gameplay: Lock n Chase, Burger Time, Astrosmash (compared to Astroblast), Tron Deadly discs, Bump n Jump. And Adventure wasn't a patch on either of the Dungeons and Dragons games on the Intellivision. I have an Intellivision and a VCS, and a MiSTer FPGA these days. So I know the games very well.
@@mortimore4030 Quite understandable you might find some better than VCS counterparts, equally I can think of River Raid, Beamrider, Demon Attack, Atlantis off the top of my head, all better on the Atari, in my view. But my opinion was less about directly comparing games but more the overall feel of games across the two platforms. It's subjective, and not a competition. Just an opinion, so don't get in a pickle. *Both* classic, excellent consoles.
The controller was awesome. Such precision on the direction disk. Way better than anything else i experienced until many years later.
I think so too, but many say otherwise
My brother and my had Videopac + great stuff
Apologies what’s Videopac +
Classic retro games. I'd love to play these today.
You can, just Google ;-)

I will check these titles out. Thanks
Great video, as always. Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for the heads up. I will check all of these recommendations.
Great video
Thanks my friend, please share ☺️
I don't remember anyone having one either, but I do remember them being on display for demo in Allders of Croydon back in the day!
I don’t remember seeing this or ColecoVision anywhere. It was Binatone, Atari 2600 or home computers

Retroarch using the FreeIntv core ran Motocross just fine with default options
I will check that one out, thanks

My friend
I never owned one, didn’t even know it was a thing until much later. It was Binatone, Atari 2600 and home computers in the UK

I love the ColecoVision as well. So much so that a few years ago I purchased a CollectorVision Phoenix and never looked back.
I was more a Transformers and GI joe kid backing the day
Did you ever play GI joe arcade game, it was quite good
i had one, they were great (got one in my games room, non-functioning though,) a couple of games to check out are Dracula and Dungeons & Dragons
Will do thanks.
Ah this is between videopac an Commodore 64 I see
No idea 🤷🏻♂️
I've have a commode intelivisson it was given to me by my late mother

Thanks for confirming. I will have to pick one up as I'm addicted already to a few games and can't stand the flicker.

I love the 2600, some of the games still hold up really well. HERO is brilliant!
@@ClassicReplay HERO is so classy, imagine that from the perspective of the initial launch titles?!
