I literally just played this amp. It's on clearance for 799. With the gain at noon and the volume at like 3, I was hurting my ears lol this little amp sounds tremendous!!! I think it's going home with me
I’ve owned that combo for 3 years now and I love it! It wasn’t quite enough for my rock band by itself, so I added a 104hf markbass cab. That was a little too much, ha ha. I just wanted to make that combo sound louder with more presence since it was my favorite amp. My guitar player suggested looking for a 15” combo from markbass. Voila, Jeff Berlin 15” combo has the exact combo head II amp (300-500 watts) as the the 12” combo just no tweeter. It’s gig worthy around. Not as portable, but portable enough at 42 lbs. Cuts the mix while also giving warmth and a presence that can’t be faked! You hear it, you feel it, you love it!
Agree with everything but the weight. This amp is plenty light. This is my practice amp. This is my gig amp for small to medium rooms. For larger gigs I go direct out. I record the direct out. The only thing I wish it had was an aux in for convenient practice. Also a drive channel would be nice, but I don’t really “miss” that. I’ve got a pedalboard for when I need that.
You're right! Not sure why the sound distorted like that because it didn't sound that way in the store or when I was editing the video but I will fix it!
Just discovered your channel, cool stuff. I'm also shopping for an all-rounder that I can carry. Have you tried the Markbass (Littlemark range, I think) combos with two 8" speakers? It would fit between my sofa and the wall. Keep up the good work and well done on the copy of Drums and Wires in the background!
Thank you! Yes, I have tried out the Little Mark and it sounds good! I think I played through it in one of my videos at the new Guitar Center or the Marietta location. All of these gear manufacturers are making back-conscious equipment these days, without compromising the volume & tone. It's such a relief!
Thank you! That's a great guess, but the main problem was that I placed the camera/phone on the cabinet. I actually cleaned up the distortion and reposted the video but couldn't figure out how to update this one. Guess I need to hide it or delete it.
Unfortunately, I cannot personally answer that question but I've read that little amp sounds awesome! I saw one of these for sale for cheap ( $100), but someone else got to the seller before me.
Dude - thanks for making this video. Its very professional but - if you are going to go onsite and demo equipment can you at least bring something that better captures the bass like a Zoom recorder or something? Using the phone and my sitting here wondering how much of the distortion is your phone and how much is the amp - where it most likely isn't the amp - isn't true to the experience. But a Zoom or save up and buy one. Whatever. But keep this up - you do some of the best videos on RUclips.
I appreciate the feedback. I really do. I actually reposted this video and turned the mic down. The 2 iPhones (8 Plus and 11 Pro Max) actually do a good job but your ear doesn't fail you - I screwed up and placed the phone on top of the cabinet I was playing through!! Speaking of Zoom, I've been buying their products since the mid 90s. I own the h4n. I mentioned it in one of my earlier videos. Bought it in 2010. I've recorded countless shows and rehearsals with it. You're right, it's great but I don't always have it with me. I even thought to buy Zoom's video recorder and the gimbal system for my iphone but nothing beats the iphone when you use it right. The poor quality of this video is all on me and I think it's time to retire it. Thank you, again for the feedback!
Acoustic is garbage. I bought that model you showed and it totally broke up when I hit the B string on my 5 string, I thought I was going to blow the speaker. The MB is steep in price but they always have sales.
Yes, but I have to say don't hold me accountable for the decision you make. I'll put it this way - If I could spare the extra cash, I'd go with the Mark Bass. I think it's a solid little combo amp. I revised this video to remove the distortion but I think I need to do a new one.
@@Direwoof Really cool! All you need is to be able to hear what you're playing. It shouldn't cost a fortune! I still have one of my two Crate amps after all these years. They last forever!
@@progrockjock Yeah it's a crate MXB 25 with a 10 inch woofer. Should be better sounding than my 15 watt guitar amp does for sure. I'm originally a guitar player.
@@Direwoof Ha! Me too! My crate bass amp was a B10 I think and the guitar amp was G25XL or something like that. The bass amp had an issue with the cable, so I placed it on the street for anyone to take. The guitar amp still works fine. It's sitting somewhere in the basement.
It's my fault, not Mark Bass. I placed the phone on top of the amp. I've tried everything to correct this and I posted an updated video but it's not getting much traction. I planned to delete this post and see what would happen but I forgot about it. I know this isn't doing Mark Bass or myself any favors. Thanks for the feedback and the reminder!

I actually re-posted this video after realizing how bad the mic was overloaded during filming. Enjoy that amp! It's a great one!

“Anything less than a 10” speaker for bass…”
Phil Jones: hold my beer
Just picked up the Mark Bass 2x10 combo. Love it. P.S. digging the Anthrax picture behind you.
Thanks! Gotta love Anthrax!

I use it for many gigs, if I am in large room or outside add the MB NYC 121 underneath.
Sounds like the lows are crappin' out badly. Maybe it's because of how the audio was recorded for this video.

got myself an hartke hd50 10” speaker and WOW

That plastic price tag over the speaker grill might have quite a bit to do with that Nasty BUZZ...!

Dont worry
Which tc electronic do you own since you did not show it in your video?
TC Electronic BG500 Combo
@@progrockjock How about BQ500 head? Is it as loud as TC combo?
Unfortunately, I cannot personally answer that question but I've read that little amp sounds awesome! I saw one of these for sale for cheap ( $100), but someone else got to the seller before me.
Nice
there is no active imput on the cmd 12

I agree. I even saw one used for $650 but still decided to pass on it.

La etiqueta del precio 😅
Yep, it is steep.
