these real band jams have to be the biggest upgrade to andertons videos in a long time, love it
You two are a great pairing hosting the Bass business. Look forward to the next one.
I’m in the market for a combo, was kind of ready to go for a Ampeg RB 112. Now I have to check out this Markbass combo as well😃
Solid review, thanks a lot! Would have loved to hear the sound of the Fender in this video as well tho
Just loaded my Rumble 200 into the car for a gig tonight. I love it, and in terms of sound it comes somewhere between the Ampeg VR (in the rehearsal room) and the Mark Bass Little Mark head I used to use. I loved the Mark Bass, but my feel was that it was definately more jazz voiced than rock. Really comes down to style of music, so I'm on the same page as CIci.
I have a Rumble 200 and a MarkBass head. I love them both. I play rock. I occasionally put an overdrive pedal in front of the Markbass. If you want a cheap, loud, decent sounding gigging amp, the Rumble 200 is very loud and portable.
According to your web site it has a 12" speaker (not 15") and it's $349 (not $359) FYI
Thank you !!!! It was driving me crazy hearing this guy say it's a 15" speaker. It's clearly the 112. The dimensions are shorter than the Rumble 100. It is a GREAT sound ........and I just may need to replace my upgraded R100.......
@@kenjohnson3522 Get the Cort CM150B, it's identical but heaps cheaper.
Love seeing the different right hand approaches Cici and Lee take when playing bass! I'm probably more like Cici in that aspect!
That outro jam was amazing
Actually I was drooling over that Marcus Miller 5 string. What a work of art that is.
Best AATB jam yet… good stuff as always.
I have a rumble 500 and a cmd 121 and enjoy both. I have a player series P bass and focus more on amp difference rather than muliple different guitars. I use the amp difference for different music style.
Thanks both, good review ! Sorry l was a bit late to see this one.
I love this amp! Getting one myself now.
a stunning vid guys, loved the mark amp.
thanks guys.
loved both the start & end jams .. who was playing guitar?
great outro! great review!
i miss my MB NY 151 real bad. the combo sure sounded good!
That Markbass is pretty sweet, especially with a 1x15 crammed in to something so small.
Some wrong infos, it is just a 12“ in the Markbass CMB150.
Both 12“ Fender weighs 10 kg, the Markbass 112 16kg.
Does the blackline come in a more powerful spec , like the rumble and rocket?
love the channel and the jam, but should maybe play BOTH of the amps your comparing, no? Also, why not compare the markbass to the rumble 200 since it is also a 1x15?
I've missed the jams, can't get enough of Lee.
More love for the Ampeg RB amps, please.
Well I'd rather have a real amp than a Rumble. This one sounds pretty good. Very clean but not too cold. I'm considering it...I've got my eye on an Orange Crush as well but I'm not sure it can do soul/jazz/blues as well as it does rock. Idk I might need both 😁
Is this the CMB 121 or CMB 151?
Never doubt the mark bass tone quality. I just feel the dollar to weight to tone the rumbles from the 40 up are completely mind blowing.
Does andertons ship to the US?
I still think that the Fender Rumble is more flexible with the EQ modes and built in (switchable) overdrive.
I was reluctant to buy my Fender Rumble 100 initially, but the weight ratio to wattage was too good to pass up, and the price was right …the bonus is none of the other band mates complain about carrying it!
I agree.......I put the 150 watt Eminence Neo in my R100. It's all documented step-by-step on Talkbass. It improved the tone / clarity tremendously. It now weighs 20.6 lbs. Consider it if you want an upgrade.
Do you think the 121 is good enough for jamming? Some alternative rock, funk and classic rock?
Yes, of course. They were jamming in this video as a bass duet; which would be roughly equivalent to a guitar, bass, and a reasonable drummer. But the drummer would have to be slightly subdued (maybe).
Link says the MB has a 12"
I love the punch and lightweight of Markbass cabs. I just never liked the tone of those heads. I use a GK head to get that GROWL.
Hi end combo shootout gk vs markbass
Phil jones vs Mesa
Loudest/ best sounding transparent
Hi wattage Mesa m6 vs gk
Is it just me who would like to see a sound like Blur video? 🤔
Years ago, markbass made a musicman bass amp, I lost one to a flooded reharsal space (thanks to a bottle blocking the water evacuation hole, fk you other band!), I still miss that one...
Are there lightweight 1x15" passive cabinets?
Fender Rumble 115 V3 Cabinet.

@@maikfohnan1415 Thanks for the info!
As someone told me, watts does not mean volume, the speaker sensitivity does.
Too bad Markbass doesn't publish the sensitivity of the speaker.
I thought the Markbass was a 12"
Lee I luv ya mate but you need to let Cici talk a little bit to .
Disappointed with the bad info given in this demo. It would be impossible to squeeze a 15" speaker in that MB cab. Especially seeing the rumble right next to it. If somehow they could squeeze it in it would be a bad design.
👍👌
It’s has 12 inch speaker, not 15 inch.
It sure is a shame that Lee doesn't enjoy his job.😂😂😂😂
I am confused....isn't there another Lee normally???
Markbass may make amazing amps, but they desperately need a brand makeover. Every product looks like it was designed in the 1980's by Caterpillar for use on a construction site.
One has gone grey. The other now needs corrective vision. I’ve been away too long.
Ahhhh. If by 15 you mean 12, then you are right!!! It’s a 12 inch speaker lad, wanted to advise. Take two!!! SAS!!! And rumble sucks!!! Mass production gonna make you replace it sooner than that Markbass that is made in Italy, not china. Better components and handmade. I’d take that any day. Oh and Ampeg, worse. Not even worth me talking about!!! Just saying. Oh, 12 inch!!! 😂 y’all be safe.

Plink... blurk... whump.... blump....the life of the bass gear demonstrator. It all sounds naff out of context
What is the context? I would have thought hearing an instrument in isolation is the best way to hear how it sounds.
@mrpositronia depends on your perspective I suppose. I recognise the importance of bass, but only as a bedrock to more "musical" instruments and in conjunction with drums. It always sounds dull and lifeless to me in isolation, because of the frequencies it produces. But I'll grant that bassists might want to hear it like this.
