Sound variations in SO is so easy to setup and use in Studio One compared to Expression Maps in Cubase. As a DAW it does need a few basic functions adding in which is the main reason for using Cubase alongside it. But it is a lovely DAW for what it does. Wonderful composition too Samuel.
@@SamuFL More Studio One content would be great. Especially how you manage MIDI editing at the micro level (i.e. within the space of a bar). Which complex orchestral composition often needs. Studio One scrolls back and forth only in 1 bar intervals rather than at a finer resolution offered by some other DAWS. So knowing how you manage this when composing would be useful. Cheers
Great tutorial and demo. "Drag n Drop practically anything" is S1s secret weapon. I had subscribed to the new LABS+ but could not get the VST to work, and the customer service from SF was ... relentlessly unhelpful (trying to be diplomatic here) But with your inspiration, and a reminder of how great Gaelic Voices sounds I persevered and figured out the problem (needed to eradicate all traces of the previous LABS vst). Might even subscribe again. If they lower the price by 50%. Thanks for the tips!
Yes. I also had to find all traced of any old LABS installation. To be honest, I am not fully sold on LABS+. It has some great stuff in it - but I appreciated the "old style" more than the LABS+ thing.
Great tips, nobody does templates in S1, I learned some things I didn't even know were possible in it, and even artist has those. Suggestion: What's the fuss about the stems and how to route them?
what's the best way to determine the negative track delay ? Your exemple is a bit slow and time consuming when you have a full template with a lot of different librairies.
I wish I knew a better way. It depends very much on the library. Some library producers will take their time to set specific ms pre-delays to their samples and simply let you know how to set them up in their manual.
I like to arrange it in the order of an orchestral score. I would start out with woodwinds, brass, etc..

Jeez that sounds insanely nice
Thank you very much!

Thank you for the suggestion! Yes, I do think stems, routing, exporing, mixing etc... is a hot topic that feels overwhelming / confusing at first.
