    Stu went to high school with Taika. They were friends and flat mates in the past. He wasn’t just a guy they hired. Stu worked on several of Taika’s movies too.

    Don’t forget there is also the NZ spinoff series, ‘Wellington Paranormal’ following the further adventures of Minogue and O’Leary, the two police officers as they investigate paranormal mysteries in Wellington. It is very funny.

    I really like Peter. Yeah, he doesn't say anything and he barley has any screen time, but I really have to appreciate his Nosferatu look! That is one old school reference I love right there! Aside from Peter, I will admit, Stu is a lovable character too! lol

    Hi guys. I just wanted to give my own personal theory on Petyr and why he looks the way he does. Perhaps Petyr slowly lost his human appearance over the ages because he gave into his more bestial, animalistic, bloodthirsty side. It's kind of like evolution in the sense that one's body changes to better suit their lifestyle or to adapt to their environment. The other three vampires look normal because they still choose to use their seductive charms to lure victims in whereas Petyr has long since abandoned this practice, choosing to instead rely on instinct, and is thus more monstrous as a result.
    In conclusion, I do believe age played a factor in Peytr's current state in that his body changed overtime the more and more savage he became. The other vampires have either yet to do the same or have no need to given how human society is today. Back when Petyr was younger, perhaps other vampires like himself were more like animals actively hunting for food rather than luring unsuspecting victims. But now what was once an advantage in the old times has become a disadvantage as human society has advanced to a point where the old vampires could no longer successfully hunt them without the risk of attracting attention from monster hunters who are capable of actually killing them once they are in sight.

      He's also based off of Nosferatu (an old movie from the 20s). The other vampire roommates are based off of notable vampires in movies including Bram Stoker's Dracula, Lost Boys, and Interview with a vampire.

    • @TRTMN-vs3ew
      @TRTMN-vs3ew 3 года назад +1

      @@Vincisomething That is pretty neat. I did know about Petyr drawing inspiration from Nosferatu but I never knew about the inspirations for the other three. The more you know. Thanks :)

    • @TRTMN-vs3ew
      @TRTMN-vs3ew 2 года назад

      @@ikedewinter1213 True. Though in Shadow of The Vampire, starring Willem Dafoe as Max Shreck/Count Orlok, immortality does not necessarily equal eternal youth. In that film, Shreck is old, but due to his age his mind has deteriorated, his feeding erratic, and he is more animalistic.

    I think Petyr is just the original vampire, or at least one of the original vampires. He's 8,000 years old, which is older than probably all of recorded history. Vampires can make other vampires, but how did the first vampire get created? In a deleted scene of Petyr's funeral, there is another vampire that looks like him so maybe there used to be a race of vampires who were born as vampires and were never human to begin with. That also might be why he can consume chicken blood while the other vampires have to consume only human blood, since they need the blood of their own species to survive, while a true vampire can use blood from any species. I love Petyr. He's so old he just does whatever the fuck he wants and it's pretty hilarious. He's not sweeping the skellingtons up. He's not coming to the flat meeting. He's not talking while the camera crew is there because he didn't agree to this because he wasn't at the flat meeting where you discussed it. Want food? Too bad, Petyr is lonely, so now you get a new friend. The line "who let Petyr out" is interesting. Maybe it implies Petyr is so old he has dementia or something and the other vampires are like his care takers. I'd be inclined to believe that given that he doesn't talk throughout the movie and literally creates the vampire that ends up killing him, but he was speaking as early as 180 years ago, so it doesn't seem too age related. Regardless, he nods in agreement when Nick tells him not to make Stu a vampire because Stu is a vegetarian, which is so pure. His death was so sad. Perhaps Petyr is the way he is because he eats chicken blood? Maybe the human blood diet is what keeps the other vampires looking like how they were when they died, and any other type of blood slowly morphs them. In that case, that make Petyr even more loveable because he sacrificed his human features so that he didn't have to kill anyone.

    I dont think they all age into Nosferatu looking creatures like Peter. The characters all represent different archetypal vampire characters Deacon- Lost Boys/Near Dark, Vladislav - Dracula, Viago - Anne Rice Vampires, Peter- Nosferatu. Vampire: The Masquerade explains this very nicely by establishing different "clans" or bloodlines of different vampires with different traits and powers. WWDITS is a solid love letter to vampire lore in general.

  • @SuiteAces
    @SuiteAces 4 года назад +2

    As someone who likes Vampire The Masquerade this reminded me of a parody of that in the best way possible. Love this and the tv show. It's very hard to find good vampire stuff nowadays and this checked all the boxes. Especially enjoyed seeing a nosferatu style vampire.
