I think it's because Fb hides most notifications from members and only notifies about posts with the ton of comments. The problem is that this is the default settings for members. If they want to see every posts, than they have to change the notification settings themselves, or keep an eye on their feeds constantly, or keep going back to your group before any notifications if they are so interested in new posts.
