After AvP and AvP2, they made two PREDATOR films that were each meant to be a sequel to these two films. PREDATORS and THE PREDATOR. The human subplots and acting in PREDATORS were ok, but the weird attempt at adding lore and tension to a species that doesn't speak just gave the film an odd tone towards the end. THE PREDATOR was just a trash sequel and not worth watching. Then came the movie PREY, which is so far the best attempt at a PREDATOR sequel.
You guys are seriously overthinking the plot. The Predators are trophy hunters that want to specifically hunt dangerous prey. That’s why they focus on killing individuals with guns and often ignore others. They have a code of honor and will spare individuals that they deem not to be a threat or, as shown in this movie, pregnant women.
I am only four minutes in, but do they ever realize this movie is set in the 90's? I get they were still busy talking when it showed the location and date in the opening, but it is still kinda annoying.
Do you still want to understand what's going on with this pair of idiots who, instead of associating the scenes with experiments on watching a film for the first time, use children's jokes in the analyses? Hahahahahha
The predators having a gun from 1715 is obviously saying their kind have been coming to Earth to hunt for hundreds of years. They're not likely to stop. "You'll get another chance."
@RUclipsISKaren if I remember correctly its a tie in to a comic where the predator finds a bunch of Spanish pirates, the captain was betrayed and fought and killed the crew but died in the end, the predator took the gun as a trophy to remember the captains honorability.
I'm guessing someone was in a bad mood because all they did was crap all over the movie while not paying attention and asking about things that were already explained.
@robertmills8640 true the reason why the predator would kidnap their prey is so that they could get them away from Urban setting into wildlife where it is more challenging the rest of the idiots here are the ones not thinking enough the predator are a species that think not only tactically but for the thrill of challenge to them it's more challenging to see what their orey will do in an unfamiliar setting to see them grow they become much stronger and fiercer as hunters if they face an enemy that knows how to adapt and are recognised better by their leaders when they do. Having them hunt in a city is not only stupid it goes against their principles especially with a city that big with too many electronics too many ways things could go wrong compared to the jungle where both hunter and prey are challenged to a degree even in the first predator movie the Predator got hurt. The predator also saw arnold as a strong prey and a prey worth killing due to his adaptability; in this movie it feels like a fucking speedrunner and coyote chase.
You say they got right into the Predator stuff in the first movie, I think you're forgetting the whole 30 mins or so where the pred doesn't even show up for a good 30 mins and the team's sneaking round the jungle, finding bodies and blowing up terrorists... Wow, kinda like this movie, huh?
They also did not realize that the Predator chose Danny as his ultimate prey right at the beginning and that all the kills from this point on are not random, but the Predator slowly bringing Danny to the awareness that he is being hunted. The hunt started right at the beginning, but they missed it.
The Predators (The Yautja) are drawn to heat and conflict, like Gary Busey's character says. They are big game hunters. They only hunt the most formidable species, because all they really want is an epic battle to prove themselves. The however have a code of honor. Which is why they don't hunt anything thats not armed. That's why he didn't kill the kid with the toy gun, and why he didn't finish off the pregnant cop. Not honorable. In fact a little noticed part of the plot seems to be that the Predator saved Danny Boy. He started to fall backwards, the predator let him catch his arm. Danny freaked out and fell again, and the Predator still caught him. It's not until Danny shoots that the Predator kills him. Also... This movie takes place in "the near futuristic" 1997 (but was filmed in 1990), not 80's. This movie has flaws, but it's doing a lot more than you guys gave it credit for. Mostly because you talked over the exposition which explained this stuff. I get it it. Reaction channel, but you guys complaining over top of it actually caused most of the problems you had with it. But hey. Thats all just my opinion, and what the fuck do I know.
Good movie, Simple plot, similar to the first. It’s like y’all didn’t even pay attention to the 1st movie …. pay attention to the movie instead of cracking jokes
@@BatFan1 there’s plenty of reaction channels that talk during the movies and don’t miss key plot points, knowing when to talk and when to shut up and watch is crucial, these 2 missed the mark
You joke about that beginning being, but this film kind of predicted the future. It came out 2 years before the LA riots, which really did turn the city into a war zone.
@@shania991 nobody care if the movie is good or bad. The reaction was bad because they don't pay attention. if you pay attention could like the move or not. If you do not pay attention you never will like the movie SIMPLE AS THAT ,
"Drawn to heat and conflict". They are hunters. It's what they do. The more dangerous prey they can find, the better. That's why they like hunting humans. We are intelligent and can adapt to the situation. I think you were overthinking it.
I mean it's not that I mind they didn't like the movie. It's a hit or miss with a lot of people, but the main issue with it is the same as any sequel, did it hold up against the first one? Is the new protagonist as good as Arnold? But their motives and targets make sense, the environment makes sense and it expands on the lore. Even people who don't like it still give a different perspective....but not getting it at all, that's on them.
24:38 Maybe if you knew the basics about the Predator, you wouldn't be so confused. You guys miss so much while trying to act on camera. Predators are drawn to conflict zones because they are looking for the greatest foes to hunt. They are trophy hunters on safari. It was explained in the first film that the Predators only come in years where there is an extraordinary heatwave. Just like the heatwave happening in Los Angeles in this film.
Yeah they missed a lot of things, they complain that they don't just cut out the cop stuff, then complain that they didn't do more background of Danny Glover. Then they miss when he says "you'll get another chance". That they come back regularly, which the gun and original movie show you!
Ok, so I’m a real believer that every experience is valid, but I’m really scratching my head on this one. I just don’t get the perspective here, I’ve enjoyed all the predator and alien reactions until this one. It really did seem like every clue or outright fact/lore given in the movie and the prior movie was missed, forgotten or completely misunderstood. There was a real effort at positioning expertise of movies, character, story, etc. but ended up emphasizing just the opposite with asking questions that were clearly answered or obvious. I would imagine the sheer amount of people screaming at the screen was staggering. Love you guys, truly, just didn’t get this one. 💚
Awful reaction with too much talking and not enough paying attention. The comparing to the first movie a little too much talking instead of letting the story play out. A good solid movie overall. 7.5/10 for me.
I was thinking the same thing. This wasn't a reaction. And even though I like this movie, I couldn't get through this video because these two were just so annoyingly whiney. It was a complaint before the movie even started.
"What kind of L.A. is this??" Answer: A futuristic L.A. The movie came out in 1990, but is set in 1997...so it's the often used "...a few years from now, ;-)
Why is the Predator there?! It's a predator, he's doing what predators do, hunt. Doesn't matter what the backdrop is, tropical jungle, concrete jungle, he was hunting. That being said, I enjoyed the movie but felt they tried too hard to repeat too many of the same beats from the original film and failed at it and the gang war element unnecessarily dragged on too long. It just wasn't needed for the story.
@@76063co2Bill Paxton disappears off screen in Terminator and we don't see him again he might have survived, but Lance Henricksen gets ripped in half by an Alien Queen.
Nah, you guys lost me with this one. Granted Predator 2 is not the greatest sci fi film, but your attitude from the outset was condescending and filled with a kind of contempt for the movie. The attitude you displayed with constant snide remarks about almost every aspect of the film reinforced that you two had already made up your minds about the film before even watching, and that you somehow think you are above this 'sort' of movie.
It felt more like they had a set expectation for what the film was going to be and when the movie wasn't going in that direction it threw them and they never got back on board with it. A movie not living up to expectations is not always the movie's fault, if you want Indian food and go to a pizzeria you're going to be disappointed but its not the pizzeria's fault.
It's mostly Aaron lol, He comes across as a bit of snarky, oh look someone got shot to death and fell off the edge of rooftop that's so funny. Like when they later examined the guys body and lifted his head, Aaron's like "Is he alive?". Nobody's saying you gotta go out and buy the movie afterwards, but If you're not even gonna try to immerse yourself, or pay even the slightest bit of attention. Then what's the point of reacting?
I suggest you armchair film critics choose another REACTION channel. I guarantee non of you watch EVERY movie through rose tinted glasses. Dry your tears……
Naw it's definitely not a generation thing. I think they had set expectation for thus movie and it wasn't met also the weren't paying attention because alot of there questions were already answered and there overthinking way to much about the predator itself.
Everyone's reaction don't need to be the same as ours. I like this and the 1st PREDATOR (infinitely better), and love their inputs, even if frustrating and missing the point sometimes.
@@-Perene they weren’t paying attention to what was going on and missed crucial details in the plot, stop giving them a pass cause you like the channel, this was a terrible reaction
I've seen worse, I watched the CinePals reaction to Conan 1. Now you might be thinking "hey wait there is no reaction for Conan 1". Exactly, it got such bad feed back by how oblivious they were that it got deleted just a few hours later and that was months ago, I thought they'd re-release it after people forgot but they still haven't yet.
One of the worst reactions I have seen on this channel! Tara was clearly not herself, seemed in a mood and failed to follow the plot at all. Too much BS said during the reaction, because neither of you seemed capable of following what was going on, or understood the history of gang violence. The gun was dated 1715, meaning that the Predators have clearly been visiting Earth for a long time. That's how we'll "get another chance". Not difficult to understand at all!
When the outcome of the reaction videos you make is how many views it gets, people will just randomly talk about everything and anything in their videos to try to hit some “rhythm” and it can get annoying. “Talking about this doesn’t work? Let’s try being this way next video!”
To be fair Busey also became "crazy" as we know him today because he was in a bad motorcycle accident that lef thim brain injured. And of course he also almost OD'ed from drugs. But he's always passionate now about telling people to avoid drugs, drinking...etc. And of course being safe on motorcycles.
They told you in the movie that the predators come for hunting/fighting the stronger pray and do it more fair than humans hunt big pray/trophy hunters. And revealed that they take skulls as trophies. They obviously have done it since 1700 and that's why he said they get another chance. They gave him the gun as a trophy after he won. They were just there watching that one predator do his hunting/fight thing and did not intervene.
Hey guys, read the comments and work on your reactions. You talk over so many scenes that you can't even understand the plot when unfolds. It's also not that complicated. It's pretty straightforward
Honestly. I think these 2 are my least favorite reactors among the rejects. Constantly not really paying actual attention to the Films they watch. Don’t seem to actually want to watch any of the movies they are reacting too. Which would be fine if y’all could just understand the most basic parts of the story. Like you guys not understanding why the main characters charges in the meat house to fight the predator after the predator has not only killed 2 of his friends but as actively been taunting our protagonist about it the whole film. And this would be the best chance to fight the predator. Right after he’s thrown off by what the other team threw at him while also having a damaged cloaking device. This is literally the best chance to attack. It’s just basic tactics. Read a book plz
I don’t mind the talking and jokes in between but if y’all gonna be this goofy and unserious then don’t even bother. I’m not even halfway thru and I’m pretty much tapped out. And I notice it’s specifically this combo of reactors that specifically get this reaction from viewers the most
It was obvious this was not your type of movie. You guys were basically just going through the motions. You weren't really interested, paid little attention to the story and your lackluster commentary showed it. But that's ok, every movie is not for everyone. The lack of enthusiasm on your part just made the video not enjoyable..
This was a garbage reaction. They both couldn't stop riffing during the intro missing the year this sequel is set, and then they clearly had preconceived notions for this.
I agree you can tell they're just in front of the camera for a check ....their whole commentary on this film didn't make no sense at all and the girl on the right looks like she wants to take a nap
usually I enjoy your reactions and critiques, @22:19 were I stopped watching this video, almost the whole time complaining about he movie. it was to much complaining and not much else.
In my previous comment i said this movie deserves more and more love. City Hunter give us unstoppable kills, he must be in police forces 😂 i like how he shine with this destruction 💪
I don't you guys, you are so sensitive. She merely made a comment about the themes in the movie. This movie is different from the first one. You can't say nothing today or people will infer things in your word uses that never was intended. You act no different than a person going to a standup show getting offended when a comedians jokes rubs you the wrong way. She is "reacting" and offering her takes. You want her to sit still and stfu?
I can't figure why these two don't understand what the predator has to do with what's going on, when it was made clear by the end of the first movie. It hunts game it see's as worthy prey, and takes them as trophies, sometimes it fights them if it thinks they're worthy enough. And it's not trying to re-immerse you as if it's something new, they know you know what the predator is, thats why it's called Predator 2 lol. It's simply a different story, albeit more comic book like imo, but it's not terrible.
In the first predator movie dutchess special unit was not on the hunt for the predator they receive orders to rescue hostages from gorilla rebels. The predator just happened to be there hunting in the area due to the predators being attracted to heat and hot weather like the jungle. That's also why the predator was in Los Angeles due to a low temperature of 102° on a weekly heatwave. When most people watch the first movie they just assumed the team is after the predator.
These guys review movies a little too seriously, almost juvenile. Did they not know that this movie is not an 80s movie? Did they not hear that the city is suffering from a deadly heatwave, which is one of the reasons the predator is in LA, AND why the cast is SUPPOSED to look sweaty? That the ambulance drivers will sometimes wipe your face clean of blood? Also, it’s hot she could’ve sweated some of the blood off. Stop over thinking people.
This is what I call a ''bandwagon reaction''.. reactors do this when they pay attention to what other people have said about a movie before they watch the movie themselves. Halloween 2, Alien 3, and as you can see, PREDATOR 2! These are all movies that reactors skip or give a negative reaction to, mostly because they've been influenced by other people before they even watch the movie.........
Na a bandwagon reaction is pretending to like something they don’t it’s sad y’all can’t accept people aren’t going to like everything, like just get over it they are grown adults and can have their own opinion. It’s weird all of a sudden it’s a “bandwagon reaction” once they don’t like something.
@@shania991 And I stand on what I typed.......... a bandwagon reaction can go both ways 🤡🤡🤡.. nine times outta ten they new about a the negative reviews.
The plot is explained in the very first movie. And explained in the beginning of this movie. And yet still can’t figure out the plot. This don’t seem like a first watch and the tone of the reaction was down. We appreciate the reaction please stop judging the movie when you don’t want to understand.
Isn't it funny when the "reaction" trend started with all the cineasts suddenly showing up who had apparently never ever seen a single famous movie before. 😆
Yea guys, people are watching the reaction to share in their fandom with you guys, it's ok to not like it, films subjective, but if you guys are gonna go into it making fun and not paying attention from the jump.. just skip the movie, no one wants to tune in and feel like a dork for liking this as you rip on it
Yeah. This reaction ain’t it. Y’all couldn’t even comprehend that since he has a gun from 1715 they have obviously been around a while so he says they will get another chance. 🤷🏻♂️
the problem is not about feel, the problem was they do not pay attention to the movie. if you don't understand you can't feel they need to be more focus in the movie and pause the movie if they need to talk simple as that
Predator kills both Gang Leaders on screen >"Gee... I wonder if we will be coming back to the gang wars subplot at any moment" I'm sorry but I feel this time they weren't paying attention to the movie at all or got too distracted by clowning on the movie.
That gun with 1715 reference means Predator was here long before, even before the original 1987 movie. That is why Danny Glover said "you'll get another chance" at the end.
Danny Glover's pistol is a Desert Eagle chambered in .50 Action Express (also available in .44 Magnum and .357 Magnum), manufactured by Magnum Research of Savage, MN. It is the same type of pistol as used by Deadpool, and by Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Last Action Hero". In real life it is a monster and very impractical, but Hollywood loves it because of the look.
So glad i didn't grow up overthinking fantasy sci-fi movies from the 80"s 😂..its pretty annoying..the whole "everything before my generation was evil and stupid so im gonna pic it apart" mentality..🤡💩
maybe you guys would enjoy movies more if you just watched them instead of trying to figure them out and dissect them during like it’s a puzzle. there is no award for guessing the plot. it’s entertainment, be entertained.
The over the top journalist is Morton Downey Jr. He was big for about 15 minutes in the late 80's/early 90's as a talk show host. Think Howard Stern meets Jerry Springer.
I found it interesting that Aaron mentioned early that they may have expected something similar to the first film & that’s why they were disappointed. But then they continued down the negativity track, complaining about how they wanted it to be more like the first movie.
An enjoyable movie. I like that they went in a different direction in the sequel. Too many sequels are repeating the same stuff. This one even replaced the lead and I think Danny Glover did great. Gary Busey was fun as well - isn't he always 😄 Great little nod with the Xenomorph skull. Took 14 years for them to meet on the big screen. Even though a bit of a disappointing movie. Part 2 was even worse. Could use another chance.
@@mst3KGf I've seen the first movie countless times and this sequel a good number of times as well. And somehow I never came across this interesting fact. Thanks for bringing it up.
To me this film is on par with the first Predator in terms of giving you great entertainment, the first Predator is still a better film in terms of technical stuff and story but both Predator and Predator 2 are on equal terms when it comes to giving you a great time, not one wasted minute. Love both of these films! Definitely can't wait for you to check out Prey when you get to it.
While the ideal premise of a ‘Predator’ film is a different genre of film that is interrupted by an alien hunter - the first film being a war film interrupted, this film being a gang war film interrupted, and so on. When you said the first half felt like a different film before ‘becoming’ a ‘Predator’ film - that was the intent.
Gotta be honest probably should switch out one of these 2 for one of the other guys cause when they watch they constantly miss stuff and then act like it was never in the movie.
BEST PREDATOR SEQUEL EVER MADE! This was slapped with an NC-17 rating due to the strong graphic violence that was filmed but cut from the movie, at least 25 minutes of decapitations, skins getting ripped off, and limbs getting torn off by the Predator were removed to achieve an R rating. A director's cut of the film was going to be released in 2020, but plans were cancelled because of COVID 19 pandemic.
The reason the Yaujtua (Predator) is in LA during the *heatwave* and a *gang-war* was is what Gary Busey explains in the damn movie, they’re drawn to *heat* *and* *conflict!*
The squad at the end of the movie were none other than the 1990s LA Lakers basketball team , who loved the 1st movie so much and wanted to be in a predator movie , there's a video of Danny Glover dancing with them and it's hilarious.
He said "you'll get another chance" because he saw the year on the gun (1715) was an indication for how long and frequently the Predators visit Earth. He knows they didn't leave for good. Also the following Predator movies are sequels/prequels but not a reboot.
Don't you remember the first movie? They explained it perfectly. He likes hot climate and he likes a place with battles going on. He's looking for the top dog so he's going to where the fightings at.
Was really looking forward to this reaction since it's one of my favorite movies, but this is probably one of the worst reactions I've seen from you guys ngl
@@AtomicTitan1954 they honestly couldnt have picked a worse movie to be so annoying during, i think alot of us were excited for this one but it is what it is i guess, i have a feeling this is probably gunna be another chucky situation, dont think alot of people are going to continue watching their reaction to this franchise, hope im wrong though
Heat and conflict. Two things LA had. Natural breeding ground for the Predator. Im not a massive fan of the film, but its pretty simple to know. Plus, the Predator was stalking Glover from the start.
Im surprised yall hated the idea of it taking place in the city, I really thought yall would like it. I appreciate them making it in a whole new environment and I like this film.
If you are hunting wouldn't you pick an area that is full of action 🤷🏼♂️ They prefer hunting prey that are more dangerous and put up more of a challenge
I got this movie entirely. All the answers are in both movies with the dialog, it just flew over your heads. I request that you do a rewatch & take notes this time. Y'all were too busy comparing the first movie with this one. The true elements on how The Predator operates are there & captured in the film
ok so lets break this down, The Predator hunts the most dangerous game for there skulls aka trophies but will kill anything that is a preceived threat but not every kill means its worthy of becoming a trophy, Yautja aka Predators have many different clans which means they have different weapons and hunting styles, and finally Danny saying you'll get another chance he was just thrown a gun with 1715 on it which means they come here often to hunt, hope that helps with your questions
I hate to jump on comment section bandwagons as I typically enjoy your reactions but this one not so much. I think you guys went too hard on a simple plot, as simple as the first film which you both seemed to enjoy. With a majority of the rules being set in the first, all you had to do was apply what you already knew to the second film. Only difference was the location. Not too hard to understand a Predator’s interests in LA’s gang wars. A warrior is a warrior good and bad, like a soldier or gang member respectively. They both kill. Predators put themselves in hostile situations of all kinds, even beyond that of human trophies. Their game spans across time and galaxies. They hunt. They collect their trophies. That’s it. The concrete jungle was just one of their stories. Crazy thing I don’t even vibe with Predator like that. I’m more of a xenomorph fan and I don’t like Predators in “other” films canon or not. But even I understood this movie and how it fit into the lore. Reaction bothered me enough to share my opinion. Sorry guys.

The predators are drawn towards violence, that's why they'll always show up where wars are going down, because they only hunt deadly animals/beings
Violence and heat. That's why they went through so much trouble (and sweat stains) to hammer the message that it was hotter than usual in LA.
And heat!
@@tomscott113I'm guessing they didn't pay much attention
"Drawn to heat and conflict". They are hunters. It's what they do. The more dangerous prey they can find, the better. That's why they like hunting humans. We are intelligent and can adapt to the situation.
I think you were overthinking it.
Um, LA was considered dangerous in the early 90's and even Demolition Man even made fun of it!!!
Yeah and it's exaggerated city violence because it's set a few years in the future. It's not that hard to understand.
No, Gary Busey didn't "drink too much", he was in a motorcycle accident which left him with brain damage. This video is a bit of a disaster
The sequel has a very different tone and atmosphere but it works. Predator, Predator 2, and Prey are my favorites. Predators 2010 is enjoyable.
I like Predators more than the sequel but Danny Glover’s character is better than all the characters in Predators. It’s a weird take 😂

But their motives and targets make sense, the environment makes sense and it expands on the lore. Even people who don't like it still give a different perspective....but not getting it at all, that's on them.

Maybe if you knew the basics about the Predator, you wouldn't be so confused.
Exactly… drawn by heat and conflict… they don’t listen or pay attention
Yeah they missed a lot of things, they complain that they don't just cut out the cop stuff, then complain that they didn't do more background of Danny Glover. Then they miss when he says "you'll get another chance". That they come back regularly, which the gun and original movie show you!
19:54 nice! Predator ~ Honey Badger is the similarity I didn't know I needed

But it looked like it was the gang war that got the predators attention in the first place.

It’s like that for everything they watch
It felt more like they had a set expectation for what the film was going to be and when the movie wasn't going in that direction it threw them and they never got back on board with it. A movie not living up to expectations is not always the movie's fault, if you want Indian food and go to a pizzeria you're going to be disappointed but its not the pizzeria's fault.
You are correct!👍
It's mostly Aaron lol, He comes across as a bit of snarky, oh look someone got shot to death and fell off the edge of rooftop that's so funny. Like when they later examined the guys body and lifted his head, Aaron's like "Is he alive?". Nobody's saying you gotta go out and buy the movie afterwards, but If you're not even gonna try to immerse yourself, or pay even the slightest bit of attention. Then what's the point of reacting?

Naw it's definitely not a generation thing. I think they had set expectation for thus movie and it wasn't met also the weren't paying attention because alot of there questions were already answered and there overthinking way to much about the predator itself.
Everyone's reaction don't need to be the same as ours. I like this and the 1st PREDATOR (infinitely better), and love their inputs, even if frustrating and missing the point sometimes.

And revealed that they take skulls as trophies.
They obviously have done it since 1700 and that's why he said they get another chance.
They gave him the gun as a trophy after he won. They were just there watching that one predator do his hunting/fight thing and did not intervene.

She is "reacting" and offering her takes. You want her to sit still and stfu?
Guys…Gary Busey was in a motorcycle accident in ‘88 not wearing a helmet and suffered significant some permanent brain damage.
Your nit picking just abit to much instead of just enjoying it and following the story there's so much you missed and didn't even understand

That the ambulance drivers will sometimes wipe your face clean of blood? Also, it’s hot she could’ve sweated some of the blood off. Stop over thinking people.

Sorry guys.
