Sikhs can marry anyone it's just that particular group have gone around trying to stop it in the place if worship because either one of the bride or groom does not accept Sikhism and when marrying there you go around and give your self to guru which wouldn't make sense if you weren't Sikh but in my opinion it's anyones choice as long as they respect sikhsm and know that gurus word is true

Sikhs are NOT against mixed marriages. Sikhs are protesting against the mis-use of the Anand Karaaj (Blissful union of the souls), which is The Gurus ceremony, where vows should be taken by only two Sikhs who accept The Gurus words. Otherwise the mixed faith couples are more than welcome in Sikh Gurudwaras (as has been the case past to present) to perform any other prayers / seek blessings at The Gurudwara (Sikh Temple).

If someone(does not matter to what religion he/she belongs to) wanted to get married in presence of SHRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI and seeks blessings for their better future.. then no one has the right to judge these couples. To all those people who wants to shut the door of Gurudwaras for these couples ;please again go through the basic teachings of our Gurus and you shall get your answer. It dosent matter which religion or caste everyone is judged by their Karma. When it comes to marriage then the fact is which i know from many Sikh girls that Sikh males are very lessserious about their life compared to Hindu and Muslim boys. Sikh males drink much and quarrell and they always hear swearing from their fathers who abused their mothers.
This is why Sikh girls choose men from other faiths and Sikh men falls behind.

The reason why the Sikh wedding ceremony can happen for a couple who have different religions, is that the sikh ceremony is not just a wedding ceremony but it is a declaration that now as Sikhs couple we will take an oath to believe in God and follow the Guru. It would not make scenes for a Muslim or Christian to take the oath if they will never follow the gurus way and also believe in a different prophet or leader. Terrible news report. also a sikh can marry anyone and even get blessed in the gurdwara but they can not use the original Sikh wedding ceremony due to the oath. and that's really it.

They shouldn’t force themselves into a religious ceremony. If you want to have an anand karaj in the gurdwara you have to follow what is laid out in that. You shouldn’t force the ceremony to come down to your standards that’s not how it works.

Is nothing every allowed for downtrodden Muslim women? . Thank goodness I am a Humanist We don't need gods, gurus, priests, rabbis, imams et al in order to live a moral and decent life. - we use our brains. Globally.women will never have equally as most of the faiths subjugate them and historically have never give them the same rights as men. Even Christianity. which has reformed massively over time, still can discriminate. As for Islam, countries where women are treated very badly tend to be from that fait..In Sharia, the word of a woman is worth half that of man in a court of law. So you see, absolutely nothing to commend such a belief system. However in UK, if anyone dares to critically debate what is a very misogynistic faith, immediately they are branded as ‘Islamophobic” - thefar Left does not allow it. We are gagged.

Anand Karaj is only for Sikhs. Historically it was only for Amritdharis, but now “Sikhs” have completely changed Puratan GurMaryada to suit their own beliefs. When you’re having your Anand Karaj you are making a promise between you and Guru Sahib. Guru Ji is giving Sikhia for you to live by. How is a Christian going to do that? Sorry, but have your Interfaith Marriage somewhere else. I don’t care if you want to have an interfaith marriage but you can’t do it in a Gurdwara

Sikh gurdwaras often stress it's meant to be a home to volunteer for EVERYBODY (poor, castes, religions). Majority of the gurdwaras in the West are run by families or men that usually fight over committee position. I never heard of any of them fighting about something like this (it doesn't relate to them and ruining their wedding). They're definitely not allowed to be refused to enter or accepted LOL. This is one temple in the U.K. (where they do everything gay). Majority of Sikhs are the opposite of this. It's just an ARGUMENT (protest or not, FYI because the main leaders were allowing the ceremony). Majority of the weddings among Sikhs must be fake too because most are not baptized. At least they don't expect others to become Sikh. Why I don't trust Al-Jazeera.

If it doesn't re-link you (religio) with your loving humanity and cultivate a peaceful, sharing environment, then it's a cult. 'Love thy neighbor' is a religious idea. 'Kill the infidel' is a cult idea. There is a difference, but don't tell a cult member that because smart can see stupid, but stupid can't see smart. Islam is a murder/suicide cult and the people practicing it admit it openly, and they're operating on the assumption that others are even dumber than they are. I look around and I can't say they're entirely wrong about that, with everyone telling themselves islam is peaceful and our governments arming them to the teeth. If bride and groom accepts this, then there is no issue with the sacred Anand Karaj ceremony. if they are not able to do this, then they can have an Ardaas Prayer for their marriage instead.

When the sewadars see a big turban, in a langar hall, will ask in taunt how many parshadas but if a guy has a "samosa" turban he is treated with more respect. I'll even vouch for u... But when it comes to Anand Karaj, it's not a ritual, it's not a custom, it's not just any ceremony.... It has religious values attached to it (not going to go into the depths of explaining Gurbani here)... So for someone who is not a Sikh and who does not follow the teaching of Sikhism, whats the purpose of even doing the Anand Karaj other than it being just another function to get family and friends to attend.... Get registered in the court of law and throw an awesome party for family and friends... My question is why do something that you don't even believe in?

bro it's AL JAZEERA , they are trying to divide SIKHS and HINDUS . we both share centuries old beautifull bond . they can't break it. Even panch pyaare were also hindus before amrit paan. Banda singh bahadur was also madho das ( Hindu Sanyasi ) before he met GURU GOVIND singh ji . we are undivideble .

Racism doesn't come into it. It's about practicing your faith. Anand Karaj should be between 2 Sikhs. Do your research.

I had a Sikh girlfriend and she ended up marrying a atheist. Can Sikhs marry atheists?

That is wrong unless the atheist converted to Sikh

There is no other faith that has promoted onesess as much as the Sikh faith. Its not being against the wedding but against having it into he Gurudwara

The gurdwara welcomes anyone from any religion. How dare they try to use Sikhi as an excuse to divide humanity!? These people are not true Sikhs.
