This Is HOW SIKH PEOPLE TREAT YOU In Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Old Delhi, India 🇮🇳

  • It is not a secret Sikh community is one of the nicest, most caring, kind people I have ever met on my travels. You might be wondering who a Sikh person is. The short answer is that you can recognize them from their turban.
The long answer a Sikh is a person who believes in Sikhism. Sikhism - is the fifth-largest religion in the world, founded in the Punjab region with 30 million believers these days. The Sikh faith is a monotheistic religion, meaning Sikhs worship one God.
Sikhism inspires me and gives me hope for a better humanity and a better future. Sikhism is all about equality regardless of religion, race, or religion.
Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib is one of the nine historical Gurdwaras in Delhi. It was first constructed in 1783 as a small shrine by Baghel Singh to commemorate the martyrdom site of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, and was probably expanded after the Indian Rebellion of 1857 or after the Partition of India. Join me to experience the temple and get to know more about the religion and the people.

My Irish great-grandfather fought in WW1 with Sikh soldiers in France. My grandfather said his father never spoke about the war because it was too much of a bad memory, but the one thing he told him was 'always trust a man in a turban' because he had such a high opinion of the Sikh soldiers. My last trip to India was before COVID in 2019. Traveling with 3 other friends. We visited Gurudwara Shri Rakab Ganj Sahib in Delhi. Really beautiful grounds. All white marble. And a huge Langar. Everyone we met there was so welcoming. Of course we went to Amritsar to spend time at the Golden Temple. Mind blowing. 🙏 remember, every Gurdwara has 4 entrances, for each of the 4 compass points. So, it’s easy to get turned around. Waheguru!

When I was every young about 14-15 years old, me and my family had gone to see Red fort in Dehli during my summer vacations.
Before going to Red fort from our stay we all forgotten our water bottles in that hot sunny day🌞.
As we are from a village we don't know how to get water in the street of city 😂
We all were very thirsty and it was a panic situation.
But somehow we find the same sikh temple because this temple comes in the way when we were approaching Red fort, they providing everyone free cold water, and this is how we survived and get free water in unknown city streets.
It is one of the best memory from my childhood.
Thank you Sikhism and sikhs for this help!
Thank you Guru nanak dev ji😊.

I admire you a lot Davud. I have a suggestion to make:
When in places which have significant importance in Sikh History try to look for the history of that place, It is often displayed on a board near entrances of historical Gurudwaras.
Here In Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, the 9th Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur was martyred by the mughals because he refused to let them forcibly convert the Hindus to Islam. He gave up his life to safeguard the right of hindus to practice their religion freely. He was beheaded in the middle of the city center.
