Great vids! I like the fine detail put into your vids such as removing/installing and repacking/greasing bearings etc. Stable camera work as well. Not some shaky video that misses the fine detail...Great Job.
I've pretty much used your method for years but I just used a bucket. Loved that pressure wash cabinet. I use my pressure washer but no cabinet. I also used SOS pads. They work pretty well too.
Excellent instructions on cleaning and restoring aluminum motorcycle parts. Also appreciate the details on greasing bearings and the mini grease gun. I will use these techniques in my restorations. Thanks much!
I've been using etching wheel cleaner for about 30 yrs. & it does work great, it's not too good with black plastic stuff under the hood of my truck so a little patience is best if doing an aluminum manifold like brushing it on in sections & rinsing often for anyone trying it. comet & a scoth brite works good too, my 70' Triumph center cases & head are bright white aluminum. Part of keeping things simple after it is clean is to wash everything with "Dawn" dish soap and water on a regular basis. I was taught the dish soap routine by a 3 time national speedway champion who's house I kept my bike with, after each race the clutch, carb, throtle chains, everything off the bike & into the bucket of soap & water!
I don't think that would hurt the seals but he can kiss the bearings goodby. The bearings are now filled with Simple green and water but at least the rusty pitted bearings will have some fresh grease.
@@MississippiMudMX don’t get vapor blaster confused with sand blaster. Harbor Freight does not sell vapor blasters and if they did it would be a lot more than $200 lol
Thanks for posting this and sharing your tips. Is there a specific reason why you don't remove the swinging arm pivot bearings before you soak and clean the aluminium?
Great job. Its nice to see some actually clean stuff up before they go to sell it. I'm digging that mini grease gun and the pressure washing cabinet is perfect. Have you done a shop video about your tools?

The cleaner you used is a great tip and I will try it asap however we can’t take the bike apart every week so not practical. I am going to try and wipe it on an off. The only thing that worked for me was wire wheels. I use the 1/2” and above on a corded drill and for the tiny place use a dremel tool. After that then buff and polish them out and they will look like a factory pro bike

He's cleaning these parts up to sell as USED- not new. It greatly increases the value when cleaned. Of course- where needed you'd want to freshen up a bushing, Plastidip the coil spring again, etc. Don't be childish, Folks- these parts are worth it. Go price them new.
Got the same set up usin HF elec portland PW, it DOES work great, but it will rust out,so you HAVE to drain and dry after use!.I am resto shop owner, mostly Harley..always buyin parts. Hit me up
Blue marine grease is best for bearings because it resists being washed out by water, but use anti seize on all shafts like axles and swingarm because it never washes out and axles will never need to be driven out. 👍🏿
It's a sandblasting cabinet. Not much good for sandblasting if it's wet inside, but a few simple changes between sandblasting and pressure water and it should be fine. Just remember sand doesn't like water, any water. But you can also use glass beads, nut shells etc in the sandblasted for cleaning up stuff like this.
yo, rad channel. just wanted to let you know the spotting you've experienced on the sides of the swingarm is due to the clear anodizing process that is done to the sides from the facrory. also, noticed the axels looked a bit rusty, you can thread the nut on them then use your impact to spin the axel while holding the axel with scotch brite, also works great to make sure that the right side end of the front axel slides easily in the right fork to prevent binding of the forks, after cleaning it and applying some grease an old axel should slide in nicely. you can do the same thing with that long head stay bolt as well to clean the rust off
Was trying to see what this paint looks like”Seymour Alumi Blast Aluminum Spray Paint” on RUclips but found your video and wow looks good and nice video .
I'm also using an almost similar method. But i use cheap powder laundry detergent instead of degreaser in constantly heated water. The result is almost the same. But require some more brushing and re soaking. But i'm cheap! hahaha
I have a yzf250 2017 and the frame near the bottom where your boots would hit is sort of black as such what could shine if and clean it without taking apart
Thank you for your AWESOME videos, I definitely picked up several things to take care of my bikes. I do have 2 questions: 1. where to get that compact high-pressure wash machine? (it looks like Harbor Freight Tools "Sand Blast" Machine, but with water, which I've never seen before). 2. What are you using to heat up that Simple-Green solution in that tank, Is that premade machine/tank with a heating element? Thank you again. Very cool stuff.
They are expensive but you should get a heated ultrasound tank. I have one that has a 40x25x12 tank area. It’s a $12,000 machine but saves so much time it’s amazing
