The Kubota M4062 gets its first outing of the year hauling many hundreds of fence posts. The posts will be used as tree stakes for the next phase of hazelnut tree planting at Gubb Farm. The trusty Honda Foreman 450 gets down and dirty until a disaster happens - it stops mid-job. The Kubota steps up, but taking a tractor into a field in Fermanagh (Northern Ireland) this time of the year can get messy.
We are preparing to plant 1650 hazelnut trees with the stakes used to mark out the location of the trees. After the trees are planted, the stakes will then be used to support a mesh fence cage that will be put around each tree to prevent deer and animal damage.
