A wonderful and very talented showman! Liberace was always incredibly friendly to anyone who approached him. Once (during the daytime) at a supermarket, a fellow shopper was astounded to look up and see Liberace next to her - he was dressed in a long white fur and sported a couple of large diamond rings. The lady was speechless for a few seconds, and then apologized for "staring at him." Liberace gave the lady a happy smile, and then said, "Ma'am, I would never dress like this if I didn't want people to notice me."
Always Just FABULOUS !!! ❤️Loved Watching Liberace’Shows Back In The Good Old Day’s ! Always Ending His Shows With The Song “ I’ll Be Seeing You “ Looking Up To The Heavens To His Mom ♥️ He Is Truly A Legend 😌
He came along at a time when there were few populist pianists around. And for me he came behind the likes of Russ Conway and Jerry Lee Lewis and also Winifred Atwell. Ok he was pretty good but he was all flash and outrageous presentation and image. He could not live with the likes of Rick Wakeman and Keith Emerson and Jon Lord. So to tag him as the greatest piano player of all time is pushing it. Pleasant to watch and listen to and to be honest the song is not all that hard to play. As a trained pianist speaking. Great video and great memory. I was 14 at the time and been playing since age 8. He wasn't trained and he could not actually read music. All memory. A feat in itself yes. and he could pick up tunes. Some say Liberace had the potential to be a great concert pianist, but reviews about his "proper" piano technique were mixed.
Liberace was trained by Florence Bettray Kelly, a student of Moriz Rosenthal and made his soloist debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra at age 19 playing Liszt's Piano Concerto in A major. This is well documented. One of his earliest recordings is an LP of Chopin. While not "the greatest pianist in the world, he certainly had his chops. 😉 G!

@@SmilinJackAccordion You don't understand how propaganda works. This was probably in 1970. Now 50 years later, 40% of high school graduates are identifying on the LGBTQ-furry spectrum, and that is not okay.
Heart-melting wink 😉❤️
What a beautiful moment in life
LIBERACE lives ... thank you - Ed Sullivan Show channel - for sharing this delightful performance !
I have a special spot in my heaet for Liberace-even with all the camp and drama.
He was a talent that not everyone recognized back then. He probably improvised this at one time, then embellished it as he went along!
❤🎹 Liberace, still one of the greatest piano players ever. Listening in coastal Mississippi 👋🧔
Nostalgic and wonderful!❤
This made my day. Thank you.
He was so talented!

Joyful!
Thank you! ❤
Great pedal work on that grand piano, Liberace played Harry and His evil twin in a Batman episode, He was almost as good an actor as Adam West.
Flashy and talented. :)
No. Hollywood propaganda. Looking back, it's not okay.
BRILLIANT.
hermosas melodías que toca el famoso pianista liberace
Any piano player with the ability to give a big goof-butt wink to the camera in the middle of the song is a-okay by me 00:39.
West Milwaukee alumni love him
Fantastic 🎉❤
Dzięki
❤❤❤
Love hum my Favorito pianist🫂💜😍
Academy Award winning song.
The kind of music you wanna skip down a street to.
I remember a moment before LIberace started playing where he handed Ed Sullivan a very nice coat. Why did they cut it out here?
I wish his brother George was there.

Liberace received a scholarship to study at the Wisconsin College of Music when he was just 7 years of age ...
The beginning of Hollywood propaganda. He butchered the song.
