So just so you know, because Catwoman being blonde was a mandate by the studio so that she would look more like Michelle Pfeiffer who had played Catwoman in the film Batman Returns, later on, after enough years had passed after the movie had come out, they decided in The New Batman Adventures (TNBA) to have Catwoman with a comic accurate look of black hair and is retconed that she's always had dark hair but had just dyed it blonde in BTAS. So you know this look she has now is temporary.
Yeah most women around that age that I’ve met have dyed their hair with at least 2 different colors at that point in their lives. With men you don’t typically see them dye their hair until they go gray.
WAIT WAIT. Because it's a common mistake the episode order on the streaming service is wildly inconsistent and the correct order is the one on the production order. Here is the correct order. @@blaze3309 Yeah its important to go in order. Theres some continuity events in this series. Bro i cant wait till you get to Old Wounds and Epilogue episodes 😢
From my perspective, the “I didn’t want to take you away like some common criminal” refers not only to the romanticism between them but Imagine right, how legendary do you become after everyone sees you getting locked up by THE Batman. You get clout in Arkham for that vs some no name regular officer. But that’s my headcanon
Yo Blaze, I’ve been a big fan of your channel ever since your first Arkham videos. I’m so glad you are taking the time to dive into the world of Batman. The Arkham games hold an important place in my heart and I’m glad you were able to take your time and enjoy them. I hope you enjoy this series. It is awesome rock on man!
So glad you’re jumping into the animated series. It’s a good emotional rabbit hole to dive into. Even the weakest episodes are just ok and when the episodes hit they hit hard. Looking forward to your journey
Yeah the tv-airing order and streaming order isn't the official order. For example The Cat and the Claw I believe had uh 3 episodes in between part 1 and 2 which felt very alien to anyone watching the show with that order. If your wondering why. Tv-airing order was based on what episodes appealed the most to their test audiences, not what was the production order was.
Hey man, just wanted to let you know. These btas videos are high quality! I feel bad that this one hasn’t been performing as well as some of your other videos, however I wanted to say that I love your reactions and I promise you, you’ll love the series. Eagerly looking forward to more. (Ps I just found your secondary Channel today). Keep it up bro
So awesome getting to experience all of these things that I love for the first time again through a fresh set of eyes. Really glad that I found your channel, you’ve been playing all of my greatest hits lol
Best show of all time…used to race home from school in the early 90s so my buddies and I could watch this…would come on at 4 pm , then Animaniacs, back when the world was good
Hey incase you didn't know static shock actually shares the same universe as this! And I'm pretty sure they're made by the same people, might be wrong on that tho.
Sherly Walker who composed this series also did the 1st,2nd and 3rd (and 4th?) Final Destination films, she didn’t do the 5th Final Destination because she had passed away by then
This wasn't the first episode. I just checked my Bluray set and On Leather Wings was the first episode. That aside, you're in for a good time, this show was my childhood. If I remember correctly Static Shock meets this Batman from the later seasons of BTAS at one point. Also maybe in an episode of Justice League.
Target has some Batman the Animated Series figures right now…DC Collectibles made them around 2015 and McFarlane Toys now has the license and is re-releasing them…really good too…I have all of them, lol
Here’s episodes you should post on RUclips: Joker’s Favor( the true first appearance of Harley Quinn) Nothing to Fear ( Scarecrow’s first appearance in the series and the place where Batman’s iconic line “ I am Vengeance, I am the Night, I am Batman. Almost Got Em (a episode mainly focused on Joker,Penguin,Croc,Ivy and Two-Face The Forgotten The Underdwellers
You need to watch DCAMU animated movies they are based on New 52 comics it starts with Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox and ends with Justice League Dark: Apokolips War but it continues with Tomorrowverse animated movies which are a direct continuation of DCAMU. If you want watch DC Showcases which is short animations that are combined into one movie especially for DCAMU and Tomorrowverse you need to watch Batman: Death in the Family and Constantine: House of Mystery. Perfect watch order is order they are released.
You need to watch Superman the animated series (one of the most comic accurate versions of Superman ever), Justice League the animated series, and Justice League Unlimited.
Btw Batman the animated series is part of and the start of the dcau which is different from the dcamu which is the animated movies your watching the dcau are a bunch of animated dc shows in the same universe so they are all connected it starts with Batman the animated series then superman the animated series after that is justice league then justice league unlimited and after that Batman beyond there’s some movies like mask of the phantasm that are connected to that universe too if ya ever wanna really get into DC those are the shows to watch there’s also a weird thing where you have to watch Batman beyond before the final episode of justice league unlimited it would be spoiling it to explain exactly why but ya that’s the dcau if you ever want to get into it
Blaze I recommend watching the show gotham it's about the police station of gotham before the batman aka bruce wayne grew up to be the hero we all know.
Catwoman was one of the few characters that the Animated Series didn't portray great. In the comics she is an orphan that grew up in poverty and turned to thievery to survive. As much as I adore this show, I never loved that they made her a wealthy socialite and an activist. I also didn't like that they gave her blonde hair. The reason for that was because the studio mandated the creators of BTAS to model her after Michelle Pfeiffer who had previously played Catwoman in the film Batman Returns. Thankfully later on in The New Batman Adventures Catwoman gets a redesign that is much more comic accurate and works better for the character. I always thought that (the actress who voiced Catwoman in the show) Adrienne Barbeau's voice and performance sounded a bit too mature for the character and I felt like she was just missing the playful sass, sarcasm and overconfidence that Catwoman was known for. I think Adrienne Barbeau did a good job but unfortunately I didn't think that she and Kevin Conroy had amazing chemistry, especially compared to his phenomenal chemistry he has with the other actresses of the love interests you will see later on in the show and also Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman or Grey DeLisle who voiced Catwoman in the Arkham games alongside Kevin. One of the best versions of Catwoman is from The Batman 2004 series and while not quite as good as the Animated Series, Catwoman was much better there. The Batman and Catwoman relationship he is a very messy and often frustrating one in the comics. People nowadays honestly don't like the draining relationship drama between them and have found it kind of predictable and boring and in general if you were to ask any comic book fan they'd say that Batman's love life is one of if not the least interesting thing about him with a few exceptions, Catwoman not being one of them. At this point it's just not appealing to a lot of people that much.
This two-parter isn't really that fondly remembered and frankly most of Catwoman's early episodes aren't particularly good unfortunately and in fact her next Catwoman centric episode in the show is my least favourite episode in the entire show. It's not until season 3 when they start to write the character more interesting and more comic accurate. It feels a bit like a course correction after realizing they didn't manage write the character really properly beforehand. Red Claw who was an original creation for the show is also a bit of an infamous character and is generally considered an extremely boring and generic villain with a vague scheme that most people don't seem to care for or remember whatsoever. She's kind of a noting character and most people seem pretend she never existed. Also the cheesy line "I'm an equal opportunity crime fighter" has been pretty ridiculed over the years for how campy it sounds and is something even the BTAS creators have said they would rather forget about.
No why would I skip the 3rd movie? I'm limiting myself to a couple full movie reactions a month because the editing on those kick my butt fr. It'll be out sometime in May
So just so you know, because Catwoman being blonde was a mandate by the studio so that she would look more like Michelle Pfeiffer who had played Catwoman in the film Batman Returns, later on, after enough years had passed after the movie had come out, they decided in The New Batman Adventures (TNBA) to have Catwoman with a comic accurate look of black hair and is retconed that she's always had dark hair but had just dyed it blonde in BTAS. So you know this look she has now is temporary.
I feel like since it's a female, they are always changing their hair anyway. So blonde of dark hair is both fine for her.
Yeah most women around that age that I’ve met have dyed their hair with at least 2 different colors at that point in their lives. With men you don’t typically see them dye their hair until they go gray.
Same as Penguin's design! Bruce Timm actually had to go on the set of Batman Returns to sketch Danny DeVito in full costume and makeup.
