That's fantastic news about your grandad North. I'm glad he's feeling better. I have elderly parents that have alot of medical issues and I understand the ups and downs.
You actually can play in tournaments with 3d printed minis. BUT they must be original designs (by you), reasonably recognizable, and you have to print them yourself. As long as you did it all your self and no money changed hands for the prints or stls then it’s tournament legal
Dude, I do the same thing. During crisis I always try to help others. I think it’s because helping others takes your mind off the mental stress and it’s also something tangible you can do to work towards resolving the problem. 30:07
Easy mate, inland is hot as balls in the day , I'm from the east coast almost at the foot of the blue mountains and even here a summers day can get to 40°+.
The dude at the end made me tear up. Thats inspiring, take the land raider and make sure its so beautiful that it honors your friend. Paint a free hand mural on the side to honor the fallen!
Sure will! I'll be finishing up my terminator squad first then doing a bit of a restock of brushes and paints. After that I'll strip the LR and my rhino for the new paintjob
I LOVE YOU NORTH I plan to send you a hobby nightmare. However, it’s not 40K or any other tabletop game. It’s extremely likely it’s a hobby you would never have thought you’d hear of from Law School.
Hey North, long time listener from Australia here, just answering your question about why we have a lot of towns along the coastline.... we actually have quite a lot of towns and cities further inland here however the only problem with it is, the further inland you go, the more desert you find, thus increasing import costs for food, water, entertainment etc in those areas. one of our famous highways here is called the Nullarbor, which translated from the local language literally just means 'no water'. hope this gives you a bit more of an idea :)
Reminds me of my last moment with my closest friend. We stood under a conifer sheltering from the rain in my parents front garden we had finished 6th form he was of to uni and I to collage. He passed a few months later I rang him the night he died but he never answered. Possibly it was just after the accident as it was late.
People will often talk about the ethics of model acquisition, what you can and can't do. But it seems like rules for thee but not for me, because GW is bound by zero ethics when it comes to pricing and business ethics. They offer absolutely no quarter to us as consumers. They can't expect us to observe so much chivalry when they have none themselves. I'm sick of it!
I live in Australia the reasion we tend to not live in land is because the further inland you go the more arid the land gets. Also the more inland you go the longer it takes to get to places reasion is Australia is about 31 times bigger then the UK. A box of Intercessors from GW in Australia is $105 AUD. As of writing this that is £55.
Here in New Zealand they charge $124.50 for Primaris Intercessors, just have checked the website. Almost everything has a thee digit price tag, unless you buy a single character on a small base or some paints or anything auxiliary.
I used to troll second-hand markets and eBay for cheap lots of Warhammer models of all kinds. I’d clean them up, prime, and then resell the lot minus whatever models I wanted to keep. This is how I kept my hobby cheap for three years, but I haven’t bought any GW product in…like 8 months now? Maybe more? Every time I see a decent looking lot for sale, my brain gets excited for about four seconds before I think, “I mean, I could just print that stuff.” I’ve diagnosed issues with my mono 4K and plan to pop out a ton of industrial/space hulk bases for my chaos marines this weekend before I dive into models proper.
I don't know why but as soon as the story turned to the traffic incident my throat just cropped up and I started to well up (which sucks if you're painting 😂). Dunno why this story out of all of the traffic accidents affected me so much. I have some unsolved trauma left from losing my dad in an accident but that was 36 years ago...guess therapists can still earn a pretty penny off of me, I suppose.
Well, North has brought the "not providing a service" point already and has done it, at least, since the beginning of the year, if i'm not mistaken. Am i missing something here?
Isn't the point of "PIRATING" that they're not "Scifi Super Soldier in Power Armor" that vaguely looks like a Space Marine and it's an exact rip/copy of a GW design? If that's the case if you paint your model then no one will no it's not GW. I did it with my Imperial Guard and they only found out because I flat out told them that I did it not knowing you weren't allowed to use 3D prints.
@@stujm84 Aye, I've decided to cheat. I have a dude in england willing to ship whatever I buy so I dont have to drop an extra fifty to sixty bucks on something
Hey North, I do have to say that buying 3rd party has helped me a lot with getting into the hobby. What do you think of Troll Trader? I've found lots of battle line models for fairly cheap.

They dont build inland because everything inland will kill you. Also everything in the ocean will kill you. So aussies live in the space inbetween.
that and its hotter inland too
The main reason we live on the coasts is because the inner part of australia is basically just a desert
How can someone who’s studied history not understand why people have built on the coast

Me omw to lie
If theres no inland cities in Australia where the hell have i been living my whole life? And $105 a box of intercessors here in Australia too.
In Canada a box of intersessors is $75.00

The Combat Patrols now have the same model count as a start collecting that costs double the cost - less than 10 years later

Most of the inner land in Australia is unlivable. It’s a vast desert.

They actually charge $62.50 in the states. Have to pay the tax of not living in the UK.
Wishing you and your Grandad all the best North ❤

I buy broken cheap models and fix them.

Good stuff, as usual very enjoyable.
I set myself a limit each month for models which is around £60 to £80. If I don’t spend all of it, I’ve got a bit extra for the next month

Those terminators you talk about north? 52 dollars ISNT the American price. It’s NINTY EIGHT DOLLARS, for those same ten models
Just switch from Britain to America on GW’s site and watch the price explode. I believe Brad of Poorhammer calls it the “Burger Tax”
