      Now we know why the ski patrol member was flying down it. They are always dragging people who don't belong on these runs down on sleds. This makes one a very good skier. Learned to ski the steeps at Taos, had a very good instructor. One thing he taught me was to never initiate a turn until you are set in the turn you are making. Then you use the energy from the turn you are in to make the next turn, kind of like a spring board. Works wonders.

      I used a Sony action cam mini with built in stabilization. I find it less bulky than the GoPro which is why I made the switch to Sony in the first place. In general I find the Sony to be a better camera for my needs.

      +Parker Robison sorry for the delayed response but as long as you take your time and are comfortable on the terrain, it's not a problem. It always looks worse from the top of the run. You just have to know what to do when you get on the run.

      Skier's right is Wacky's Chute check it on the trail map or on google maps here: www.google.com/maps/place/Breckenridge,+CO+80424/@39.4686857,-106.1016708,716m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x876af63d6c26e7c1:0x628d8f7f6680a27a

    • @evancoffey2068
      @evancoffey2068 7 лет назад +2

      How can you tell what Chute is which if there's no signs? Honest Q.

    • @Dustin-Holstein
      @Dustin-Holstein  7 лет назад +3

      Primarily, in the upper terrain at Breck, rock formations are the biggest give away. This is even more accurate on Peak 6 but is more of a guideline on whales tale due to the snow field in that area. Each chute in the Lake Chutes area at Breck has distinct rock features that act as natural boundaries for the runs.You can also use the ridge line to gauge where you are. Zoot Chute starts in the shallow saddle between wacky's chute which starts at the top of the slight incline to skiers right and 9 lives starts half way down the slope from the summit on skiers left.

  • @jumolangma8557
    @jumolangma8557 3 года назад +1

    They should build lifts up to the chute top. Hiking at 4000m with skis is too tiring.

    • @nathanma2671
      @nathanma2671 2 года назад

      I agree, but its way too windy, and it isn't open all the time, so its not that practical

    Breckenridge or Telluride? If you could only ski one of them.

    • @Dustin-Holstein
      @Dustin-Holstein  5 лет назад +2

      Michael R telluride because less people, a little more secluded and similar terrain.

      Aaron Parr no offense taken but easy street is the first run skiers right of the lift. If you are familiar with the area you would know that this is clearly not easy street. Look at the distance I am from the lift at the 2 minute mark...
