    I could’ve used your information beforehand. My foot slipped off the pedal and now I’ve got to replace the cylinder. lol
    In all seriousness though, thank you! This is exactly the information that I needed.

    The clutch pedal seems to be a big issue on these trucks. The safety switches have issues, the bushing that holds the rod on the pedal breaks, and the clips that hold down the rod in the master break. My 2000 F250 7.3 has all these issues. I had zip ties holding the clutch down and the other things were inconvenient because i had to hold my pedal in a certain spot to start it, but it was still drivable. Now the switch is completely broken and it won't start so I'll probably take care of at least one other issue while I'm in there doing that.

      I finally did mine on my 2007 F350...again this video was spot on...thanks. The only difference is my master cylinder still has the pushrod engaged. There is a plastic cover that you undo on the clutch switch in that case to take it off...very easy. Commenting just for others.
      Outside of that small difference (cause mine wasn't broken in the same way) this is one of the best step by steps on something I've seen. Thanks again!

    Hi Phillip, I just replaced the master and slave cylinder on my 01 7.3 Powerstroke. Now after not having any issues with the previous master/Slave cylinder my clutch pedal is getting stuck and feels like it has air in the system. Is there a way to bleed the air out of the system? I bought a prefilled South Bend clutch kit.

    Would it be hard to get the safety switch off if the push rod is still in the master cylinder? How would you get the rod out?

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 года назад +2

      Its not too hard to do. Unplug the electrical connector so you can twist it around. Theres a plastic plate that can slide off, then you can remove it. Heres a helpful video to get an idea of how to do it. ruclips.net/video/vkH4a6mKTsE/видео.html

      @@FixItPhillip You just made my day! I'm stripping a wrecked 99 F350. Already put the 7.3 in my hot shot truck and needed to get the clutch actuator off the wreck before I scrap it. I'm rebuilding another 7.3 and will install the ZF6 off the wreck at that time. The actuator was recently replaced and that video shows the switch removal very well. You just saved me the cost of an actuator...thank you!

    Question. I have a 2005 F350 Super Duty 6 Speed. My truck has the master cylinder kit that you just installed but when I pull up part numbers it showing the master cylinder kit for my clutch setup with the separate Reservoir?

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  4 года назад

      I think some designs it has a rubber hose from the master cylinder to an external fluid reservoir, but the concept of the replacement should be the same

    Hey Phillip my truck has the zf6 and was hard to shift then shut it off and now no crank, could this be my problem if I have a leak, or is just worn out? Truck has 318k miles

      There's a built-in metal retainer in the master cylinder thats supposed to hold the push rod from popping out. That clip may possibly be broken

    Hey Phillip, i have a HUGE question but its for 2001 F350 with ZF6 transmission.
    My truck is stuck at a shopping center with failed Hydraulic system (clutch). I have a new sealed unit and have to go there sight unseen. It appears the slave and master cylinder are keyed and just twist off. But the portion that connects to the pedal and rod... is that a Phillips screw, bolt, nut? Any help is greatly appreciated. I am kind of stressing about getting all the way there and not having the correct tools.

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  3 года назад

      I believe its just a clip from the pedal to the rod if I remember correctly, using a flat head screwdriver to get the clip off.

    • @FixItPhillip
      @FixItPhillip  3 года назад

      The new one should have the new plastic clip on the rod where it pops onto the pedal

    It's not a 6 point 0,,,,,,It's just a 6 litre ,,When you Americans go into a shop to buy milk ,,You don't ask for a 2 point 0 quart ,do you,,,It's the same here in Europe ,,,Its simply a 1 litre ,,2 litre ,,and so on....
