What's up RUclips?! Welcome back to another episode of the GoldGuy Subaru build! In this episode I rip all of the old restrictive, lame, heavy stock exhaust system off of my car and then install DNA motoring headers, 3" downpipe, midpipe with highflow cat and a catback exhaust! But there is just one question... BAFFLE or NO BAFFLE?! Comment your thoughts down below!

Are these all ebay parts? I feel like they are because the fitment is all off. Not your fault and bravo for making it work. its a pain to go from NA to turbo especially on a budget.

Great content on this channel....Subbed and am seriously considering tossing you some cash...you should get more subs if you keep it up...this was something I was considering on my 95 Impreza L 2.2...but added a 2006 Legacy GT to my collection to have a turbo Subie to keep it simple on my end...good stuff bro!...don't stop now!

I just cut the muffler off and knocked out all the junk in the cat and i get the pure exhaust note from the jdm gods
Thinking on a cheap kit and eBay front mount for my 2003 Impreza, just as a fun build. Would it be easiwr, since I have a maf sensor, whereas you have a map sensor? The motor is a little worn out, and has a case of piston slap, so I don't expect it to last much longer.
Did you notice any effect from cutting the cross member? Was the driving and handling still ok or does the car feel a major difference???
@@codymiller1802 No, because I reinforced the cross member after the up pipe was installed by bolting in an angle iron across the notch.
For real you cut a huge chunk out of that crossmember.

Did your cars subframe have that notched part that is found on turbo model cars, or were you able to get your uppipe past the subframe on the NA engine? I have seen people notch their subframes when they do the turbo installs, but I don't want to cut my subframe.
@@chixongarage no, I notched it myself and then reinforced it after the up pipe was installed. That was a BITCH to do, in hindsight I would have removed the cross member and just swapped it with a turbo one.

Would it be as good with 2.5 inch? I putting in unequal length headers on 2001 bug. But I got 2.5 down n rest. Does it matter to get this type of sound. I don't done it yet. Lots work like rear crank seal 1st
Awesome work mate! Well done! Is this running on STOCK ECU with MAP sensor or does it have something else hooked up to help the ecu run???
It is the stock ecu with a maf sensor but I am in the process of open source tuning it now!
Can I install this exhaust on my 07 Impreza sedan 2.5i?

you wouldn’t be able to install the exact same one because uel headers for an n/a Impreza don’t come with an up pipe that come on the turbo models

What exhaust on eBay? When u type in outback wagon 07 exhaust nothing comes up. Did you buy a wrx exhaust? Or another model
You can already have the subie rumble if you just keep on the resonators and cut off the muffler. For the budget subie fam 🤜🏼😂

You needed to use the big ratchet to get some of those bolts moved, you went straight to the cut which speeds up everything
Just an fyi that first big piece of exhaust was actually the resonator not a cat.
I have a 2003 Subaru gx s and it’s non turbocharged, can I turbo a non turbo car ? Would the engine be able to handle it ? After I’ve put in aftermarket headers and exhaust system?

You gonna get pulled over all the time if you don't run the baffle. Subie's are kind of cop magnets. Iget all kinds of attention in mine and I'm still running the stock exhaust...until spring. Of course, I haven't seen another one anything like mine yet in the whole county.

I mean, I would have just cut the rusted bolts off and replaced with stainless steel, instead of the cutting the pipe. Keeping the original flange and allowing for easy disassembly and install. But hey that's just me.

Because it's an Impreza Outback. There is a difference between Subaru Outback and Subaru Impreza Outback.

UEL Headers do NOT give you improved performance. It is in fact, the opposite whilst contributing to potential ringland failure. Which, in line with your other modifications is increasingly likely.
Kevin Welsh THANK YOU although the sound in my book is worth it
Kevin Welsh I have yet to see any definitive evidence that UEL headers contribute to ringland failure. The only things I know cause it are bad tunes for what mods are on it, lugging the engine. I talked to some guys from shops that tune and build a lot of Subaru’s and they all say the same thing. I’d like to know where you got your info from.
UEL headers are actually known for better spool, EL is better for top end.
Wow, that baffle completely ruins the sound, and doesn't really make it any quieter.
Uel are more restricted due to the one side being well, short and not allowing the gasses to escape as fast. Even length are objectively better than uel for making power those are just facts.
Uel headers turn boxer engines into absolute heat sinks
@@YonkoPapa yeah man this is all true. I've realized this and this uel header has started leaking at the up pipe flex joint anyways so whenever I have to pull the engine to do head gaskets, I'm going to put equal length headers on it.
