Great video! Especially the last segment that lead to the blocked FG/TD. I had already seen the final play elsewhere but all that happened in the previous 2 or 3 plays puts it in a different context.

Glad you learned something on it. Having the last drive does put it all into perspective and they little things we need to do as time dwindles down. Thanks for watching and for the comment.

At 12:22 the ball carrier is actually half a yard short of the first down.

With the angle of the camera I cannot definitively agree with you. It is close however.

Brian, at the 8:18 mark, would you consider that illegal motion by 21?

Matt - Yes he is moving slightly forward but I think this is one where we do not call it and talk to the player/coach after. He does not move upfield abruptly nor use it for an advantage, however, it is definitely worth speaking with the coach about it being close.

Brian, at the ~7:30 mark where you discussed the double foul scenario for K and R. One minor question, the foul by R is a PSK foul, therefore since they were the team last in possession they will be offered the first choice of accepting the opponent's foul (the hold by K). If R accepts the penalty for K's foul, it creates a double foul which will cause replay of the down. If R declines and K accepts the penalty for R's hold, shouldn't the basic spot be the end of the kick (i.e. where it was caught by R)? Then since the foul occurs beyond that spot, the penalty will be enforced from that basic spot. Do I have that correct?

5:26 you said not 12 men because they weren't breaking the huddle and act of substitution. Are you saying if they have 12 in the huddle it's a foul? If so, what foul? Where specifically does it say in the rule book you can't break the huddle with 12? I never call this because they have 3 seconds to leave the field. Also at 14.46 looks like illegal motion too. Could have been huge call on the last drive.

If they break the huddle with 12 and no one is trying to get off the field then we have an issue. Yes they can break if there is an active substitution going on. As far as the illegal motion, there is shaving but I support not calling this in that situation because the movement is not abrupt nor is it significant in this situation to call the foul.
