Thanks for sharing. How many times a game do you have to reset the clock?
We are lucky in MIssissippi. We have an ECO on our crew to that goes to every game with us. No home town clock operator to deal with.

We just have to be aware of the clock, understanding at times that the COs will not hit the button exactly when we stop the clock. However, we cannot continually let time tick off without doing something about it.

Your really lucky because in Alabama we’ll usually have a different clock operator for each game! The clocks always an official, but normally it’s a 1st year guy training.

Thank you for doing these training videos, Brian. Much appreciated even in Nebraska. I will comment on the holding call (play begins at the 10:55 mark). You voiced support for the call. Though our view from the bird's nest video is limited, I wonder if the defender's own momentum caused him to stumble. There was very little initial engagement, I don't see any significant turning of the the defender's shoulders, and he did not go all the way to the ground as I think he would have if illegally grabbed and thrown.. In the reality of the game, that center needs to get the hands of the defender off in order to execute the screen blocking. I feel this flag was unmerited. Curious of others' impressions. No, I am not a former offensive lineman. :)

Why does there have to be a turn of the shoulder? The OL throwing him, made him stumble and took him out of the play. There was an inside grab and not a push. We cannot allow OL to get an advantage on this type of action.

Around 20:13 on your video for that touchdown, you noted another 2/3 seconds went off. Is that still on the Field Judge to check the clock when they are motioning for the TD but in addition to that, they are trying to clear the play and no extra curricular action. Or does it fall on one of the other officials to assist during that play to get that time right? I know you have the side judge to assist you on clearing the play so the right answer is probably to let him clear that why you are watching the clock

The entire crew is responsible for the clock but the Field Judge is primary. That person should be keeping it on his/her wrist and checking it with the game clock after each play late in the half game. So even if there is cleanup needed with the players, a simple check with the watch and the GC can be made after the players or situation is handled.
Even a quick glance to the clock as they are crossing the GL will give you a reference point too prior to cleaning up.

What focal length is being used for this?

Emphasizing clock awareness and good clock mechanics, aside from proper forward progress spots, what could be more crucial to the purity of the game than that? Everything else is judgement.
