      Your chain has to be a zig zag chain. Except the alkyne portion which is straight. When it's reduced to alkene, then whole chain becomes zig zag. Now if u start from the left end of molecule and move towards right U'll note that the allylic C (on the left of triple bond) is up in zig zag chain. So automatically the alkene C attached to it will be down in zig zag chain. Then next alkene C will again be up in the zigzag chain. And now since it is E alkene, the C having OH with it will have to be down in the zigzag chain to make E alkene. If it were Z alkene then this C would remain up in the chain like the previous alkene carbon, so that this double bond becomes Z.

    • @skhan226
      @skhan226 5 лет назад +4

      @@abhivyaktichauhan6960
      Yes exactly my point is that if we follow the zigzag pattern of chain which is already given into the question we get the left carbon of alkyne dawn (not up) and in that manner the pri alcohol part goes dawn so if we check the str. we get it as wedged str not dashed one.....
      If some one having more doubts on it you can check this question in june 2012 paper where the str. is given more clearly....
