    Hi, great video. Wanted to ask, is it possible to use worm castings +em1 as a substitute for acti Vera for microbial life?

    • @growell
      @growell  3 года назад +4

      If you inoculate the coco with good bacteria yourself, in the form of worm hummus and EM-1. Then the enzymes in Acti-Vera that break down the base fertilisers and make them available for the plant will not be required.
      So, short answer, yes. EM-1 and worm hummus would remove the need for Acti-Vera.
      Biobizz do have a new product that will release in the UK later this summer called 'Microbes' that would achieve the same thing as worm hummus plus EM-1.

    Just the video I was hoping for, answered alot of questions for myself as a Coco grower, one last question can I use an alternative enzyme such as pure zym from plagron to do the same thing as your activ vira to make the biobizz grow and bloom properly available?
    Also your ActiVera has a dilution rate of 1-7ml per litre what dosage of ActiVera do u recommend when watering in Coco with bio bizz nutrients Every other day in late veg and in flower?

    • @growell
      @growell  3 года назад +4

      We contacted Dan directly to answer this question for you and he gave the following answer:
      "Can’t comment on the Plagron, but can confidently say that Hygrozyme will have the desired enzymatic effect, although it doesn’t contain the trace elements and aminos that Acti-Vera contains.
      For the dosage of Acti-Vera, 2-3ml/L will work great. Feed in the same watering as the base nutrient, so every time you’re feeding FishMix, BioGrow and BioBloom."

    Hi, Dan.
    Why is Acti-vera sometimes lime green and sometimes a brown sludge?
    Is there a difference?

    • @growell
      @growell  3 года назад +2

      The Acti-Vera is pretty consistent, it is dark green and may go a little darker once it’s been opened for a while. Are you maybe referring to Alg-A-Mic, which is bright lime green and can then turn brown once it has been exposed to light and oxygen.
      This is the chlorophyll slowly changing in the product. Rest assured the product will still be 100% effective and fit for use. The best way to test if your Alg-A-Mic’s still viable is to give it a sniff, it should smell like a sea breeze! If it has an offensive odour, then it may be too old to use.
      It has a usable shelf life of over 2 years and should be good once opened (stored in a dark cool place) for a year.
      Biobizz products are certified organic and natural ingredients can change in colour and consistency depending on what time of the year they are sourced. However, the efficacy and dosage rate always stays the same.

    Simple question:I have all your products except for Coco and all mix and Bacteria.I wanted to know if switching from Lightmix to Coco would be good for bringing down the Rh and general moisture in my 60*60*160cm growbox.
    And,Would like to know if I could use the entire range biobizz nutes and pH buffers I have(topmax,Heaven,Alga and so on)
    Thanks in Advance Biobizz,I love you!

    • @growell
      @growell  2 года назад +1

      Switching from Light Mix to Coco shouldn't really effect your relative humidity.
      If you're having trouble with RH in your growing space look at using a small circulating fan or extraction kit.
      If you do switch to Coco you can use the entire biobizz range so long as you follow the tips outlined in this video.

    One question. Biobizz coco with perlite as example. When do you Start with acti vera? What means from Start to finish? Should i prepare the substrate with acti vera and calmag and put the seed inside or should i Start when they are a few days?

    • @growell
      @growell  3 года назад +1

      Start to finish means use throughout your growing cycle. Right from seedlings up until harvest. The Acti-Vera has enzymes that break down the base nutrients and make them available to the plant, because the coco doesn't have the microbial life (that are present in soil) to break down the nutrients needed for uptake.
      Check out the Biobizz feed-charts for more information on how and when to apply Acti-Vera and Calmag for coco growing.

    Hey! Maybe a late question but i will try my best :)!
    Do i need to water to runoff with your organic nutrients because of salt build up or is it enough to carry on watering with acti vera to break down those nutrients?
    Thanks in advance

    • @growell
      @growell  2 года назад +2

      If you water to runoff you'll flush out all the microbes you've built up in the media.
      You should only get a salt build-up with organic nutrients if you really over feed.
      If you're worried about over feeding you can use plain water every third feed.

    Its necessary to control the EC with organic product on coco?

    • @growell
      @growell  3 года назад +3

      Given the nature of organic nutrients they won't register on an EC meter so it isn't necessary to control the EC when growing organic in coco.
      Though always remember if you are going to grow organic in coco use Acti-Vera throughout.

    I want to grow with Biobizz Coco, and nutrient line, but it is quite challenging to find a site with the full line up I'm looking for. On top of that, one that ships to Guam. I've looked on Amazon, and Ebay, as well as searched through multiple sites on Google. Mostly UK stores, and even then incomplete and unsure if they ship to my location. Any help? If not, I'll just settle for less until a valid option opens up. Thank you.

    When growing in Coco, should I pH the water before or after adding the biobizz nutrients?

    • @growell
      @growell  2 года назад

      pH your solution after you've mixed your nutrients, that way you can get your pH exactly where you want it.
      There are exceptions when using some nutrients such as Silicon. pH to 7.0 first then add Silicon, then nutrients, the pH to desired level.
      Though as Biobizz don't offer a Silicon you shouldn't have to worry about this.

    • @growell
      @growell  2 года назад

      In general the rule of thumb is, pH after to bring it to the level you'd like. There are some exceptions for Silicon products, using them pH to 7 first, then also pH after adding your other nutrients.

    Will biosys that is a compost tea type microbe powder. Untill it runs out Will that do instead of acti vera, for the coco

    • @growell
      @growell  Год назад

      Biosys won't be a good substitute for Acti-Vera. The reason Acti-Vera
      is necessary, is because it's an enzyme (to put it simply) which breaks down the other nutrients for the plant. Biosys isn't an enzyme so, using Biosys won't help and you'll loose the beneficial effects of all your nutrients.

    So I feed my plants this morning and discovered a few results regarding ph levels. The ph of the 1L tap water was 8.9. Added 1ml of fish mix. Ph dropped from 8.9 to 7.1. After adding a quarter of ml fish mix it dropped to 7.0. After leaving the water for 10min I test the Ph again and 7.0 was the reading. I'm using coco coir perlite. My question is do I have to use ph down to adjust to 6.2 - 6.3 ?? I discovered that the ph liquid I have is not organic. Can I use non organic ph liquid with organic nutrients?
