I just picked up the same spec F13 M6 as yours and just found your channel. Gives me peace of mind hearing about that shop living in the southwest region. Good tips on not lugging the engine too. Cant wait to see what you end up doing to the M6!
I bro I got my F12 M6 fixed by TJ Pure performance 15k for crankshaft. Warranty is lowkey word of mouth 😂 he gives you his personal cell and gets back to you asap so your call. I had zero issues with TJs work its been 8 months and I daily.
For anyone asking 5w40 REDLINE US SPEC Oil is the best to use on these engines. mines coming up on 53k miles, thinking about getting the ACL Rod bearing done. been through a 2004 E46 M3, 2010 BMW M5 E60 (rebuilt that blew rod bearing, did rebuild with troy jeup in 2017) and now i own a 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe. Will definitely use this shop if I ever need anything done, appreciate the heads up, they seem like some lovely people.
@@mtrkngz updated tech, better handling, power increase, it’s also my favorite design language in a car. S63 has bad rod bearings too??? What else tends to go wrong?
Even as biased as we are owning an S63, there’s a lot internal wise that tends to go wrong haha but it’s definitely more reliable than an E60 M5. If you are looking for those things then the M5/M6 S63 is the way to go. But if you got deep enough pockets the S63TU4 in the newer M5/M8s is exceptionally more reliable and tunable!
Be happy you stayed away from RK. The motor rebuild was solid but they couldn't install the injectors correctly and forgot the crush rings on the injectors. I had two major fuel leaks, surprised the car didn't catch on fire somehow. Broke 2 fuel rails. After that i said F it and did the injector swap myself put it here on youtube. RK has never made this right.
Brother, you said install ACL and not worried about it. I have always wondered, do you have to change the ACL preventatively as well or it’s a one time installation. Any thoughts?
Saving this to my watch later, happy to see other M6 owners out there making educational content. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much!! very useful to know just in case my N63TU goes sideways.

Glad we can help man and thanks for the support! Reach out anytime if you have any questions, we are learning as we go as well.
Excellent review. I used pure performance this year for my M6 rebuild, no issues
I’ve heard great things! If I lived a bit closer, probably would have done the same! :)

Its not the oil my guy, any 5w40 does it. Its just a shitty engine design.
I love this video, thanks bro
I call Kirk down there he quoted me 7k for my n63tu rebuild
I would say….please don’t cheap out on the tires. You gonna roast through them. Also you’ve gained a sub looking forward to the content!
They have actually performed amazing so far and have ton of tread and hook very well! We should make a review of them
@@mtrkngz definitely! I’d be interested in learning more about them.
Great video ! What grade of oil did the rebuilder suggest you to use ? 5W40 ? And Why ? I know BMW recommends 0W30….
Nice video you dragged it a lot but still entertaining
A whole trip to yap town
Great video man. I owned an 08 E60 M5 for 3 years. Drove it across the country. I miss it. But I might get an F13 M6. What year do you recommend?
Thats tough, the E60s V10 is angelic but the power you can get with the S63 is incredible. What are you looking for specifically in the car?

Do you guys still have it?
BMW oem reman long block is like 6k.
Was the project M in NJ u were looking at in Patterson NJ or Carlstadt NJ
In patterson. They’ve pretty big into the bmw engines
Dude my m6 takes 15mins of driving for the needle to start to move on engine temp lmao

Rod bearings are basically wear items on M cars if you plan on keeping them long-term, regardless of brand.
Should’ve gone with Troy Jeup just my opinion
Maybe your experience was good with him but just googling “Troy Jeup bmw” does not return very positive results
Troy is a crook. Bad dude.
what is kirks number. thanks
Hey, we put his website in the description :) thanks
