How do you like this idea? Put like it if you like it
Wow wow very nicely designed
I am seriously considering unsubscribing. I love your work, you are extremely talented and resourceful. Just be upfront with people on your display image. I have already learned to just skip to the last 5 minutes of your vids anyways.
Great video!
I think it's a terrible idea, horribly executed -- but I dare say it still gave you satisfaction doing it.
Excellent! 👍👍
Title: "Don't throw away pieces of wood"
Video: [goes to pile of 2 dozen perfectly straight 6ft 2x8 boards of spruce]
Who "throws away" that kind of wood? No one!
bottom line, he could have used any kind of wood....
exactly what i was thinking
Grant Koeller No the title was misleading. He didn’t use one piece of scrap wood. That was all food fresh from the mill. He created a lot of scrap wood. He cut six strips for the edge and only used two. It was a neat design, but not a creative use of scrap wood.
You’d be surprised haha some people throw away nice pieces of wood cuz they have nothing to do with it, that kinda stuff is perfect for fire wood or in this case repurposed for building! 👍🏻
@@rickyfraser9686 the point is that that's not repurposing - that's like 1st grade wood for "building"
This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ruclips.net/user/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seem to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.
I could watch this all day!! Love men that work with their hands. God has blessed you.❤️
Well done...your scrap pile is my “save for a special project” pile.
Not just a fine woodworking video, but a fine video period. Beautifully done!
Wow!!!
I'm far from having the kind of tools and shop you've got, but for me your video is a very good inspiration.
Muchas gracias amigo.
Love how you show it short and simple and fast forward
These pieces of wood are the kind I buy, not throw away.
Click bate
Seriously, try working with odd pieces of lumber you found in your attic and basement left by the previous tenant. That would be fascinating.
I got a variety of left overs that I did buy in my truck leftover from random jobs that aren't as nice as the ones in this video lol
Amen
Yeah, only idiot would throw away such good quality woods. 😂
Liked the wood work, loved the end.
Lot of people focused on how they got here rather than the giggle of a child at the end whose clearly pretty happy at their new table
I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I like the camera angles and the speeded up action. It was clear and concise and fun to watch. I've always wanted to use a small brad nailer and you convinced me to get one. My only suggestion would be occasional narration over the video on what you were thinking and what you were doing.
I love videos like this one. One of the joys is to see tools that are new to me.
I think your definition of scrap is different than mine. Wood destined to be thrown out would be odd sized, damaged, or otherwise unusable. That whole pallet is full of grade A, premium, uniform, straight, unblemished, Spruce.
My definition of scrap is anything less thank 2x2x2 yup I use those small off cuts again and again
@D Mon where I am we only get sawdust if we steal it.all the saws that make it are Long gone
He hasn't said those are scrap though 😂
@D Mon lol same here in the projects!
@@user-hr8pz6lh5w when "fiber" became cool (late 70's) there was a brand of bread which listed " processed cellulose fiber" as an ingredient. That sounds like saw dust to me.
BTW the title doesn't mention "scrap" at all.
That is the coolest folding table I have EVER seen!!! Excellent work on the product! Thanks for showing the video!
Very cool. Love the sounds of woodworking on fast mode!
That was an absolute delight to watch. Thank you
Alternative title: a reasonable woodworking project using normal lumber
Yea..but then.. I wouldn't click on it.
accurate!!!
Or: cut bits of wood up then stick together again...

Add "that no one needs or wants"
Awww a table for his babies. I enjoyed watching you create this. Thank you for sharing.
I loved it! Maybe I will find time to make my own this Spring.
Misleading title. More like "If Your A Carpenter With Thousands of Dollars In Equipment I Had This Idea"
Yeah it is a nice project. But the title sugests more something for a beginner. Atleast, that is my interpetation.
Report such people.
Truth
Not really. This is mostly beginner equipment. No planer or jointer. Just a few saws a drill and some claps. You could use a hammer and some finish nails or skip the trim pieces altogether. Just get creative with what you have. I think that is the point here. Most people who have "wood scraps" are already doing woodworking projects
@@BrandynMakes point taken, it's just that the title suggests that it's an "anyone can do it" project and if you know nothing about carpentry, like me lol, your reaction is more like "um ok so I need gear(most people dont own multiple saws and clamps) and some level of skill (beginner is still a skillset) so unless I'm willing to invest time and money not possible." Seems like the channel is for carpenters and DIY amateur woodworkers. Title does not give that impression whatsoever and RUclips pays out to more views. Calling out a click baitey title is all.
9:48 ..... that heart melting cute little laugh😍 may God bless this child and keep him healthy.
Uh, I gotta say, don't ever cut thin strips between the fence and the table saw blade, only cut them on the outside of the blade. Never cut unsupported (no push stick) material that can bind between the blade and the fence. You're guaranteed to eventually have a piece bind and FLY back right into your body.
I saw that and kept thinking it was going to kick back.
@@joeholloway4558 Especially watching as he moves the stock he's holding sideways and the tailing piece pushed the unsupported piece against the fence and you could see it flexing into the blade. Nice design on the folding table but please practice some safe tablesaw habits so you don't lose a finger.
Kenneth Broyles - he already lost the fingers off his gloves! 😁
I agree...was waiting for a kickback...he must have an anti-kickback setup on the side of the safety divider. I've seen these little strips kick back 50 feet and stick into the side of another workbench like an arrow. A friend of mine had a kickback and it took the end of his thumb off...after I told him to NOT do it while I was gone...geese.
Yep keep ur hands away from the blade push sticks push sticks push sticks oh and use push sticks
Fantastic job you make it look so easy! I also like that you've designed your work bench for your personal needs and created some time-saving devices to go with it! Love your videos!
I need a wood craftsman like this to build a project for me.
Cool project
But the ending was adorable.
Sweet babies eating an apple and some giggles. Enough to make anyone's day positive.
I love this. I have a table like the square ones you have folded there. I love the workshop you've got too!
Really enjoyed watching the build. Great work, very creative & cute with the kiddie's enjoying their snack table. Thank you.
Incredible table for the little folks...(The big folks can sit around it,too).....AND it folds and stores easily ! THANK YOU !
"remains of spruce boards" why is it everyone's offcuts are basically the best material I own?
Hear hear
If I save my spruce offcuts I won't have anywhere to put my purple heart...
Hit .hiam 20,x45 ? Aim from six ?
IKR. MY offcuts are the weatherboards l took off the house when l replaced them.
I just like your cleanness of your work.

This is awesome!! I always wish to have to workshop like that in my basement!!
That is so awesome. That table is priceless, you made something that your children will remember for a life time.

Sir! You are a genius! Thank you. Greetings from Australia.
Yep, your scrap is my dream pile. 2×4s are about $8 a piece.
They were expensive. The prices are dropping back.
Are you talking Canadian, Or American? Cuz Canadian…? Yes, $8 per!
Home Depot will take 70% off any damaged wood. I used to work for one. Sometimes they had a cull wood bin but if you find stuff yourself and talk nicely to someone working lumber or a manager about cull wood pricing it can easily be marked down. The cashiers can do it too but they aren't always sure what to do and might be worried its not right. . Its easier to get someone else to authorize it.
@@cidb5365 Excellent point.
Lower the blade on the table saw. Safer and makes the blades last longer.
Cahoula - why does it make the blade last longer?
Because less metal is in contact with the material.
Pretty fantastic job, dude! Really nice! 😃
I need to make something like that, but smaller and without legs... To put the quadcopter when I go fly. 😬
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Wow! Great job! Thank you so much for this video! Love it!
This was fun to watch, but my favorite part hands-down was the last frame. The kids sitting there! Beautiful! May God bless you and your family!
Killer job very impressive especially how they all fold up an save so much space genius idea
Thank you, nice touch at the end.
Watching this was better than most tv shows. Thank you so much. I’m so inspired!
So grateful for the fast forward feature to get past the things I’ve seen a thousand times before.
That's another reason why I hate TV. No fast forward feature to skip the boring parts and no announcers telling me stup1d crap no one cares about
OmG!!!!! I love this idea!!!! I wish I had the power tools and table saws, but this is gorgeous. Thanks!
Title: Don't throw away wood pieces.
What you need:
- a tool shop
- carpentry hand tools
- a table saw
- power drill and screws
- knowledge
I hate clickbait...it ruins what could an informative video..
proper workshop for wood working
excellent wood working skill
What am I going to do when all I got is a handsaw hammers and a drill?
Paul, you can do a lot with those items, I have a handsaw, hammer, a drill and some screw and I've done some decent work with them, as a beginner you should just start with those.
And a Carpenter with patience 🤣😂🤣
I always love how you can make great things out of scraps of wood. Thanks for this very good idea!
@@absolutebollox7668 Great! Super!

Spoiler alert:
He doesn't actually work at this speed.
They did in the black-and- white days. I've seen the recordings
@@ben-fe3zy Heheh. 😁👍🏻
I love videos with no speaking, slightly speeded up action, and no nonsense. It gets right to the point. Thanks. By the way, when screwing pieces together, always drill the first hole at one extreme of the piece first. Then screw into that hole. Then align the piece for the next hole, drill and screw. With the two pieces now fixed in position, drill and screw the remaining holes. This ensures perfect alignment. This is especially important with hinges on doors. One millimeter of misalignment will result in torrents of obscenities.
Good advice. I like your comment about the speeded up action. Wrestling a little with that on my own videos.
Все правильно говоришь 👍🏻
I had the same thought as he was attaching the first leg to the table. It’s definitely helpful to get everything which will align together attached loosely in position before fully securing anything. That’s doubly true if you’re a novice woodworker or even just don’t use your tools all that often. I did appreciate his close-up footage of premarking the leg end for attaching the hinge cleanly. When tolerances are tight, press-marking is more clean than pencil or pen.
We have different ideas of what scrap is. To me, this project was made with 'wood'.
Simple yet Brilliant idea, so good,I'll give it a go myself. Very useful, especially when it comes to stowing away. Excellent idea, great showmanship too Thank You. Terry Offord
how did it go
That is a very elegant design, skillfully crafted.
My daughter and I live in a small apartment. Think I'm gonna do this with our kitchen table. There could be so much more room for our crafting!!
THAT IS SO COOL! AND SIMPLE TOO!
This scrap spruce is nicer than my actual house.
Yes tell me about it
True Dat !!!!
Like very much!!!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more apropos comment. You are totally my hero for the day. Nice table though :)
My home is built of brick with brick internal walls.. Wooden houses are for kiddies to play in.
Now, can you show us all how to do all that in a small kitchen with a hand saw, a hammer, a screwdriver and a tape measure
And done with pallet wood
And Duct Tape too.
Best comment of the century
I was thinking exactly the same.
"don't throw away pieces of wood" SFU men get'ut here, this dude have a damn carpentry in his garage.
When we have a pile of wood like that, and all the tools and space we need; it's so easy to produce things 😊😊
I like the hand sanding technique, sound just like a power sanding machine!
That doesn't look like scrap wood to me or some off cuts. That looks like decent stock for DIY projects worth of couple hundred bucks to me.
Off cuts of a joiner maybe lol
Yeah correct mann
The tittle could be relative to him?
I think the principle that this could be spare wood is what the creator meant not that his wood was spare or scrap.
Same here....i could.make a lot out of all that wood
I'm amazed you still have all your fingers.
It's called common sense, dont put your fingers where you wouldn't put your slong
@Battle Boat where to begin? Blade is too high, wearing gloves, not pushing narrow straps through the saw completely. Poor techniques that could lead to injury.
@@jeremywebb6150 Whats the name of your channel? Maybe you can show us the right way.
bob f there’s numerous other woodworkers here saying the same thing, some with channels of their own. Just scroll the comments.
It’s titled Handcraft.... but soon he’ll saw off his hands.... so it’ll be Stumpcraft
Amazing. I love seeing your customers enjoying the final product at the end.
How efficient you are...what a cute and useful product!!!😄
I love your videos! Watching them is so addictive, it's a wonderful guessing game wondering what you're going to make this time. More please! :) Am also learning better innovative woodworking skills too...
Yes it’s a fantastic guessing game and it’s so much fun and so many people are so negative.

I have all of those tools (saws, clamps, etc.) in my 2 bedroom condo.
Fantastic! Great small picnic table!
Great build! I may have to give this a try this summer!
Proposition for a new title: “watch a carpenter make a table”
He’s no carpenter, after his table saw exhibit, I hope he’ll be happy with less that 10 fingers!
He’s diy 100% amateur
Thought same. Pushing big cuts with push stick and cutting small ones with no stick AND using the drop side to guide the work piece....
@@mikeincatford1 Yep. The wood putty gave that away. Norm Abrams would be cringing.

Sweet! As a "black thumb" carpenter, I love this in theory. I was visually engaged for the duration of the video. Thank you.
I really enjoyed the creation. Sand won't mess with the food! I applaud you.
I would not call the pieces of wood needed scraps. Scraps would be left overs from the talbe and used
to make a cutting board, step stool for toddler.
@Tommy Kavanaugh You like to fight don't you.
Tommy Kavanaugh imagine
@Tommy Kavanaugh 🤣🤣🤣
I agree. Scraps are left over pieces out of pieces of wood you cut, they aren’t like new fresh pieces of wood.
@Tommy Kavanaugh LOL Good one,
Very interesting project. A couple suggestions for best results:
* Avoid knots in wood that will be sliced thin and which you want to remain flat. You had lots of lumber available to be more selective here.
* Don't use strong clamping force to overcome poor fitting joints. Wood already has internal stresses, especially when using knotty wood, and clamping that hard just creates more. Those joints will come apart over time. You don't need a jointer to make the lumber straight, but you need more than your short table saw fence. Many videos out there to guide how to joint boards properly with just a table saw and jig or fixture you can make. When your cuts are better you'll barely need any clamping force to hold the wood while the glue dries. You can also learn to joint boards with a hand plane. If money and space allow then a power jointer (6" or 150 mm wide is the smallest I think is worth buying) then you can do the same thing faster. But you don't need a jointer to properly joint your lumber.
You are very creative! I hope you will learn some ways to improve the quality of your work so that your creations last longer and look even better. I'm afraid that what you made here will probably crack within the first year or two. That's okay! It's a great way to learn.
I don't know about other languages but at least in English there is an excellent book called Understanding Wood. Taking the time to read it will greatly increase the speed at which your woodworking improves. And even if you don't want to do that keep having fun and make more things! The world needs more people like you!!
