Makes sense to me from the video. The guy was intitially retreating from someone who was approaching him with 2 potentially lethal improvised weapons and defended himself with the initial stabs. When he started chasing him to finish him off it became a crime but at that point it can be argued that the guy was already in a life and death fight and could not think rationally. Combined with him being underage the low sentence makes sense. Even an adult would probably only get 5-10 years for that. If he had never chased the other guy after getting the first stabs in this would have been a pure self defense case.

The sad thing is a young man lost his life because another young man wanted to be a gangster. He will most likely spend life in prison. Being ganster is cringe. Spending life in prison is a life wasted.
RIP to the victim
Try only 2 years
Democrats gave him two years
"this poor young man" you mean the guy who picked up a log and swung it at his head hitting him in the shoulder,so he tried to retreat and the guy chased him he's hitting him on the ground taunting him "don't stab me or you'll get a criminal record" is what he said
@@Aaron-zu3xn Cool job putting words in someone's mouth. Also, "a log"? That's a stick bro, dried out desert wood at that it looks like, I wonder how brittle that shit is. The rock is another thing but it's hard to keep a grip on, plus the victim gives up pretty fast afterwards and attempts to flee only to get run down.
Don't try to play any kind of sympathy card for this wannabe gangster here, he absolutely didn't have to continue the fight.
@@Aaron-zu3xnwhere did you read this poor young man???

Do u know how many young men his age pray everynight for a father like his?
Not calling his dad Cuz 😂😂😂
😂😂
🤣 dad ate him up.
🤣What an idiot
They're even calling eachother ninjas 😂 they're all acting like a bunch of Begay's
Trustan only got a 2-year prison sentence for cold blooded murder. What a joke.
So he’s ready to meet his maker but wants us to believe that he killed someone in a life or death situation 😂😂
@@Locosogroovy It’s fair to say that his statement is backed upon 10+ years of depression and anxiety of having his father up and abandon his wife and children, to then having them all separated into different foster homes. I can’t imagine the lens that he views life as very rosy.
“Don’t call me cuz I’m your dad man” 😂 aye the yn got the family all confused

That was funny as hell. Im not your cuz, im your dad. 😂
That sentence was horrific, horrifically lenient no wonder America has so many homicides
US gun laws are ret*rded, most homicides are by guns.
America still has longer jail sentences then here in uk
Listening to their accents. These people are indigenous. Gang influence sucks in native communities. I have heard the same delusion a few times. Young people that are hooked on gang culture are so hard to convince otherwise :(
My father was a lawyer and if i had called him "cuz" while that age and in handcuffs for a brutal stabbing hed have knocked me clean out that chair!!! That kid needed discipline well before this point! Too little too late dad.
i knowwwwww
Kid was abandoned by parents, was in foster homes, God knows what kind of homes they were.... dad got him back later, by then this kid was way off the teack already....
Sad situation......
No he wouldn't. Because he would have been charged with assault. As a lawyer, he would know that. Your hyperbole doesn't make sense.
your dad must be black... thats a blaxx thing
Hed probably have second thoughts in a police interrogation room lol.
Everyone gangster until dad rolls in.
I don’t understand why he said he was crying. If he was a real gangster he wouldn’t be crying. He’s just a punk.
@@RicardoVillarreal-zb2er
In times of crisis, young adults who have suffered abandonment as children, often revert back to their feelings during those times. Though they may feel very angry in present day, the root behind that anger is fear and solitude. He needed his friend. What he really needed was for his father not to up and desert his wife and children and then to have the children separated into different foster families, where their normal attachment processes were cut off abruptly. This can promote very disordered thinking processes and behaviors.
He is not a real gangster.

I put in work dad I’m straight up. Gangster best had remembered my pop tarts with the rainbow sprinkles.
Damn .... 2 years for murder .... he literally got away with it.....
its wild..especially cause the other guy was running away after the first 3 stabs...runs away then stabbed again in the back twice that wasnt needed.gets 2 years thats crazy..its not self defense when the other guy is trying to get away and asking not to get stabbed again.
And had the audacity to run away before the paltry two years were up! He's a loser and he always will be one. The lack of self awareness is astounding!!
He will always be a bad seed, the media and what is popular is ruining how some kids act and grow up. All this ratchet shit needs to be discouraged
Now he's essentially emboldened and in his own mind he truly graduated to "gangster" status after getting away with murder. This is exactly the thing that will encourage this POS because he showed absolutely ZERO remorse when interviewed by detectives.
@@Donte_Mac yes he could claim self-defense to a degree after the initial assault but stabbing the guy in the back as he was retreating changes everything.
Don’t call me cuz I’m your dad man 💀💀💀💀
I can count the amount of gangsters named Trustan on my elbow😂😂
My god this is a lost generation of people. They can barely speak enough words to communicate a thought. Zero respect for life, their own or others.
Once again, the sentencing is shameful. That monster belongs in prison for life.
Lol kids have been that dumb for decades. I literally remember growing up around people thinking the exact same thing, '"They can barely speak enough words to communicate a thought". As people age they lose that sense of perspective and forget how dumb the world has always been
@@quantumblurrryou’re being disingenuous.
If you can’t recognize how society is regressing, how education is failing and that high schoolers reading at 3rd grade levels you’re delusional.
We have instant access to endless information regarding ANY subject within seconds constantly in our hands yet young adults can’t answer basic US history questions or think critically.
We have a REAL problem and pretending what’s going on is nothing new is willingly ignorant and unhelpful. Just ask the endless teachers who are talking about the education crisis and the inability of the youth to function at bare minimum expectation….
My God is right! God said this would happen in the last days with kids becoming more disobedient than ever, and people in general hearts waxing cold. Christs return is near!!
The only thing I miss about Albuquerque is the old town food. That place is crazy
That's not yelling, that's passion. People need to understand the difference between the two. Someone raising their voice with passion because they're trying to understand the other person or to get through to them, or to tell the truth to someone who's not listening, is not yelling. It's passion. The dad was passionate to learn what his son did, to get through to his son, to learn the truth. To tell him the truth, which is that Trustin isn't a gangster, and he did more than just a mistake. I'd rather a father who raises their voice with passion, than whatever it was that Trustin thought he needed in that moment.
Words of an Entitled Child….

Words and actions of an abandoned child. His father deserted his wife and their children to the point that they were all separated into different foster homes. The words and actions of a severely wounded child who is so intensively consumed by attachment issues, fear disguised as raging anger, abandonment issues. Actions so maladapted that his only source of family was seeking the communal relief that is commonly found by youngsters on the street to replace what they never had. I can’t imagine the level of depression and anxiety that he has had to live with, since being left as if his existence meant nothing. I do not blame his statements, nor do they convey entitlement in the least. They convey a severe lack of purpose and love that he needed very much in early childhood development.
Guess what, son. Not a single person living ever asked to be born. You're not special.
@@RLFinTX He is extremely, extremely immature. His complaints and his bragging have the emotional level you’d expect of a ten year old. I guess the unsettled childhood would account for it.

Having that last name Begay is a hard way to live life.
Its a super common Navajo name, like Yazzie
Dont call me Cuz , I am your dad . 😅😅😅😅

The son is a manipulator. He doesn't believe his father hates him or he wouldn't have wanted him there. He clearly has some issues from his upbringing, but all of this is an act for sympathy. It's an example of how some kids emotionally abuse their parents.
My deepest Condolences to Steven Begay's Family and loved ones.
Justice system failed definitely for Steven, but even for hopes of Trustin getting any help with his mental health. Was there no charges laid for the 1st. boy/man they found badly bruised and intoxicated?

What I'll never get is this -
It's statistically likely that minor members of gangs will end up dead/incarcerated.
They're unlikely to ever be wealthy.
It's the upper echelons who get all the rewards.
There's no shortage of foot soldiers happy to risk everything for an imminent demise.
Ain't nothing heroic about throwing your life away.
I really don't get it.
Teenagers. Testosterone. The two are hell together. And of course, competitiveness within the male groups. I am an old lady, I had sons. I know.

Yeah, he's clearly not 100 % innocent either, he picked up rocks, sticks, and KEPT encroaching on the kid with the knife.
