    Was he instructed to lift his top leg? It's floating in space this isn't happening with some of my clients, I have to lift it for them. Am I doing something wrong?

      You're doing it right....this guys a competitive cyclist and had no trouble. The key is to get the foot braced around your hip once in the correct position.

      No, my left knee is braced against his ankle.

    is he holding his top leg himself? And then you're guiding it?

      With this guy, I didn't have to hold the leg but in some you do... it's a bunch easier to do that it looks. Just gotta make sure they keep that bottom knee and hip flexed for it won't work.
