In Florida public schools, one of the books they had us read is called “Hoot.” It’s about a big city kid who moves to Florida and basically falls in love with our wildlife, and saves the owls from some developers that want to bulldoze over their holes (which is why they are currently endangered). It’s a fantastic read for elementary to middle school aged kids and teaches them about conservation and our local wildlife
Owls are so cool. I know this is supposed to be unnerving the way they're all staring at the camera like that, but really I just think it's cute. Look at the way the one bobs up and down behind his friend! That's just adorable and awesome. PEEKABOO!
No, the REALLY Bossy and protected birds are Sandhill Cranes, who take no guff from anyone AND cross any street without looking whenever they feel like it (although I did catch on my dashcam one time when they were actually using the crosswalk!). BTW, Tubi (legal and ad free) currently is showing the movie Hoot, a great family movie about saving these burrowing owls!
Out of all the crazy group names of birds, never did I think a “Parliament of Owls” would be scary but seeing them in action like that, I’m changing my mind! 😅
Depends on the bird. Some I have met are sweet hearts who help me with my mouse problems. Some want smoke especially if you are getting too close to where their home is.
Pretty sure all owls and birds of prey are protected, but yeah, they will put you under the jail for messing with a borrowing owl. We don't even have em up here in north Florida.
Im a damn Yankee from Mass. Just moved back after 6 years in FTL. I swear Ive met you but it probably your charm. I look forward to see what you got on your Flip phone....and your Publix desserts. Thank you.

Burrowing owls must be the meerkats of the feathered species. Thet both have the same cute attitudes. So glad they are protected.
I love how they look like their having a private conversation and then someone walks in so they get quiet, waiting for them to leave
