Love the direction you guys are headed with the flat deck.
I was one throwing shade on the exhaust stack. My apologies for that.

A different swap with taller gears? Disks?
All would be great to see.

Yes, thanks for removing that dufus looking pipe. I would have been ok with a stack just behind the cab, left or right side. The under-chassis with driver side exit is best & sounds good too! Suggestions: (A)refit the I/C in Front of the radiator, (B) change Turbine hot-side to smaller A/R & Electronic Boost Controller (EBC) to wsste gate for quicker transient (spool up) response. (maybe install EBC 1st & test B4 turbine housing swap. That might be enough so you don't have to wait. Right on ya'll !

I've been watching all of yall's builds for a long time and I've gotta say, this old truck paired with the episodes building that 300 is probably my favorite so far. I'd love to see that truck get freshened up underneath both visually and functionally, get some taller gears to make it more streetable and somewhat restored to its former glory. Maybe keep with the white paint scheme and give it blue accents to match the 300 and some fresh chrome to bring her back around. That truck has so much potential and it could all be done within a very reasonable budget 🤙🤙🤙

Personally I take a grinder with a wire wheel to bolts that have alot of rust and corrosion on them. Before I even try to remove. I don't know how many I've gotten free and they end up galling when you get to the exposed threads. Precleaning them helps to eliminate that problem. I work in a mineral/vitamin/ feed mill and all the mineral cause extreme wear. I've taken off bolts that were installed a year previous but look similar to bolts that have been on a vehicle for 50 years. Penetrating oil and heat is great for breaking it free but you'll want to remove any potential issues after that.

It'll take a lot more then the boost they are running to break a 300 rod. It'll pop a head gasket long before it hurts the crank or rods. I've got 7 240/300's right now and have owned many more. The weak link on the engines are stock pistons on the early engines ( break skirts ) and the head gaskets. And if you do pop a head gasket and hydraulic the engine you'll bend a rod. These engines came stock with forged rods. As long as it has ARP rod bolts it's good to go.

If they are doing a modified work truck then a Mustang II front end swap is the wrong direction. I would ditch the mono beam front end, and go a twin I-beam setup out of a 77 1/2 to 79 2wd F250-350. This would also allow for the use of easy to find Coil spring parts.

@@davidgenthnerjr4995 that would be far too technical for RTM Standards. if it's not bolt on, corporate sponsored and doesnt require their main target audience to understand WTF is going on it isnt going happen

New steering, suspension and a TKX. However, I still really don't see how that bed can help as a shop truck.

It needs the exhaust stack in the back of the bed behind the cab. Bobbing the bed…not really a fan of that.

Why didn't you purged that stainless pipe Muffler before you weld it welding instructor or at least spread some flux on the inside of the weld so where it won't sugar up the inside and burn it up of that stainless Muffler
