Keep the strate 6 guys.
Why do you all lower them old girls. Please stop dropping them old girl's.
@@KY4TRK 😅
What do you guys think the mileage is on that turbo 300?
With all of the builds that "Music City" has done, THIS is my absolute favorite of all!
Man this truck is badass! I love it all except the decision to shorten the bed.
All full builds should be driven around the city before and after the build.
Sitting 6 whole years, CM'ON MAN!!!!
I like that you have given a refreshing boost to this older truck.I prefer older trucks compared to the trucks of today.. Easier and more basic and no costly computers and the like to make a mess of everything.
I saw your posting of this Ford and I have seen an older mid 50s GMC/CHEVY 2WD flatbed for sale. And like your Ford is white with patina, this truck is also white with patina. It's sitting next to a barn on the gravel. It's too far away from the road to see close enough to tell if it's a GMC or a CHEVY . My Dad used to have a 57 GMC 1 ton with a long narrow box with 1 headlight per side. The truck for sale has 2 headlights per side. The truck looks pretty good.
I like the old trucks, and you folks are having fun with your flatbed Ford 🙂. Take care. 👍
For someone that is not a ford man, this is still one of my favorite builds I have seen
When you get a notification and it's a full build, YES!
Gotta love those old indestructible mugs. I've always preferred flat beds over pick ups because it gives more cargo options.
Brings a tear to my eye watching them work on the clutch standing up. Some day!
When a full build comes out its just another one to add to my repeat list lol!
It'd be really cool to see this thing get a high compression Y-block with custom made long tubes and true dual exhaust.
I’m rebuilding my papas 55’ gmc flatbed dually and this has given me inspiration to complete the project. Thank you
How is it going?
U should paint under the hood black like the fender wheels for that new 300
First time I have seen them . They didn’t disappoint, I will be watching more of this ! Great job !!!
I am helping my 78 year old friend with a 65 f350 just like that! The body is solid as a rock and the old 240 runs good but a little weak. Building a 300 to put in it! Also changing the wheels to 8 bolt to get away from the side ring wheels.
Gabby is better with metal than wood, love it
Thank you! I'm so glad yall put the straight 6 back in it.
Pat is awesome on the dyno. Anynoe carryng around 8 pens in his shirt pocket, can be trusted! Great increase in HP
Awesome I used to have a 1960 F350 flat bed Dump truck
The bed bobbing didn't turn out as nice as I would've thought. Otherwise this old rig is amazing, great job!
It didn't look bad as it was I would've left it, that is more room for parts, swap meets, engines, etc. Most states require mud flaps
@@drdjh2003 Yeah I'm not a huge fan of bobbing trucks like that. Never looks right.
You lost me at the bed bobbing. "Lets build a shop truck" makes a bed to haul less. Never ever saw a bobbed truck look good. Kids these days.
Same here. Never made much sense to me either.
WHY did you screw up the bed by shortening it, WHY? ? ?
*BECAUSE THEY ARE HOLLYWOOD MECHANICS(i know this show is based out of Tennessee)AND CAN'T LEAVE A CLASSIC THE WAY THEY FOUND IT*
@@mattsprayberry0it was a home made flatbed😂
Some of us like short beds
@@BBb-hs9udjust buy an SUV
Cause it's they're vehicle 🤷🏽 Go get one yourself 🤷🏽
It usually doesn't take much to get the old inline 6 motors to get running but the Ford 223 inline 6 was a good motor as long as you take good care of it
One thing you overlooked: the steering.
You went through the whole truck, but those old, worked worm gears in the steering go from being a steering mechanism to a roulette wheel spin.
I was anticipating a 7.3 Powerstroke diesel with twin chrome stacks. You guys need an imagination.
I would love to see a modern suspension out on this thing and I’m sure it would help you guys with the ride quality lol.
Those bias plys were cool.
take the turbo back off, put new overload springs back on a give that truck to a farmer so that truck and inline 6 can get back to doing what it was meant to do. overall great build.
I love this stuff. I have a 76 Ford F100 Custom with an I6 300 CID that I absolutely love. Its so easy to work on and for me, being disabled it was a godsend. I did have to swap the location of the accelerator pedal but it is awesome. You all have given me so much data from watching your builds and I have to say thank you.
Cool you found something cool to put the wonder6 in.
Oh. The engine that after 3 pulls is blowing out white smoke?
@@bmstylee new engines burn off smoke. news to you?
SLAM that turbo-ed one you built a few years back in it !!
....and then I CONTINUED watching !!
I would never lowered your truck I would have kept it factory ride hight but cool old Iron
They had me sold til they lowered it
I used to watch PBS and those names are very familiar to me…This old house, old Yankee workshop, other shows of the like. Good memories.
A classsic F 350, that sounds like a Supra. Sign me up!
Might have a new plan for the old 300 sitting in the corner of the shop, and the wife's 62 COE. Show her this after work, and get her take on it.
That inline 6 is perfect for that truck. It sounds nasty. Awesome choice!!!
Downtown Franklin, honestly it’s more at home in Downtown Monterey Tennessee!!!
I have an factory original embossed ford stamped. Ford flatbed, wow you want to buy it. I’m in Washington lol😮
Deisel idi swap would have been awesome 😎
Of course it started. It was built Ford tough!!
!
I'd put the stack behind the cab
Man that is super cool ! The cool thing about restoring trucks is they can work and pay for themselves, after all, that’s what they were designed to do. ✌️🇺🇸
Should have installed a 4:10 rearend but, cool build
The 79 Camaro turned out great! Glad he saw how it turned out and was able to go fir a ride in it! I have an 80 Z28 I'm slowly working on and collecting parts. They are really neat beasts. Enjoyed the videos!
I'd love to see y'all do a 1960s COE Van build such as a FORD Falcon/Econoline.
With a "basic" 1JZ (because it is cheap and Straight-6) with an Automatic Transmission...
I am currently rebuilding a 1996 1JZ for my 1966 Econoline Panel Van for 2025 HOT ROD POWER TOUR (traveling from Seattle all the way to the East Coast) with solar power, two beds, A/C, refrigeration, and a cooking area!
Basically a Toyota engine in a Ford?
Is there anywhere I can follow your build? That sounds utterly bonkers, in the best way possible.
I just finished work wrenching on cars, only to immediately go home and watch you guys wrench on this truck. WTF is wrong with me?
I need that truck 😮
You weren't lying on saying this is the best one cuz it is
What a good channel, greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷
Love when Marc does stuff with roadkill,he frowns the whole time at the crazy stuff they do lol
I live in Thompsons Station Tennessee I hope to see y’all around
Gabby is wearing bell bottoms. You go girl .
This build looks similar to the work trucks that were in the field behind my house. One side note I can still see my FORD UNCLE arguing with my CHEVY UNCLE but in my mind they both still smelled like old grease(the trucks)😊
have the same truck in 4x4 with a flat bed dumper. Some day she will get some love
you guys are right on about the old Ford straight sixes one hell of a good motor in the early 1980s one of my best freinds asked me to help him get his 68 Mustang running so he could get it out of his Parents garage and over to his home that Car was restored by his Grandfather at a Service Station he had for many years the Grandfather used a Ford Truck straight 6 with a 3 Speed manual tranny he put a Floor Shifter on i pulled the Carb and Fuel Pump Cleaned them and blew the fuel lines out with a bike Pump and had the Car running in under a hour BTW that was a running when Parked that sat for 10 years because the Car needed tires i took it on a small cruise ! Of Course and i have no idea what gears were in the rear but it would Squeel the tires in first and chirp them at second not like the 289 Mustangs would but it was a tourqey engine with the old Truck you guys have if you were going to haulLoads or pull things you could upgrade those Drums with Wilwood Discs on the front and a better Master Cylinder for that motor set up then if you guys came accross a V8 for the right price you could have a vehicle already set up for something bigger and more powerfull
Love the old Patina trucks 👍👍👍👍👍
You got it, right here.
To be honest with you. Keep the Maury County on the side, tribute. Power Nation is advertised as clean and professional. Therefore the shop truck needs proper apparel. Clean and neat. Keep the 6 cyl or go with an 8 cyl. All original. Polished and painted. ❤ Be a beautiful truck. That's American. 🇺🇸.
You lost me when you said you wernt going to tow anything and youre going to lower it lol
Cool build. Except the intercooler location..I dont get it lol. But otherwise loved it
I love the old 300 6 I rebuilt my grandfather's 89 f150 with a 300 6 5-speed after 416thousand miles with the standard bore and crankshaft only polished
The second I saw that it was a straight 6 truck, I knew, the turbo 300 build was the only option for it.
These are the vids! Oh yeah!
If those 300's have strong conrods a smaller turbo would make that much nicer to drive. 3582 is the early Barra factory size. The extra liter of displacement might make up for the vvt and modern head design.
I had a 250. Radial tires eliminated the need for power steering. Rebuilt the brakes and lost the eesire for disc brakes. The steering box is adjustable. You can adjust the play out of the steering.
Well,,, at least the air filter was full of fluid and it look'd good too,, BOOM!,, it's definately gonna run,,,
MCT hosts Brandon and Marc work on this flatbed truck.
So please correct me if I'm wrong, but the way the inner cooler is mounted...how are you going to cool the air from the Turbo to the engine? I'm thinking a supercharger would have been a way better choice? I love old iron what ever it is.
I was thinking the same thing, maybe the fan will push air up and through? I'm sure it would be better if mounted in front of the radiator though
Not gonna work its goin to run hot air
@@tmetito3535 That's what I thought also. Thanks for the reply
@@rickh8380 👍
It's probably going to do more than if they didn't have one, but probably not much. I suspect that a bit of ducting to guide air to it wouldn't be a bad idea.
Great show, truck and team!
A T56 would really make this thing shine. And definitely an LSD or a locker and a set of gears. And a 4 corner disc upgrade. This thing is gonna to sick burnouts when it's fully done.
It was great 👍 score and show 😊 love the truck
20 minutes in and I am thinking for this to be a daily, it should have an overdrive, discs, and ac.
I would love to own that truck !!!
Been waiting for more fullbuilds
Nice job, I would of kept the suspension same height. Next add aftermarket air conditioning and rubber isolation motor mounts.
Do what Jay leno does to ALL of his builds. Upgrade the brakes to Wilwoods on all 4 corners.
!
LEAVE IT THE WAY IT IS, I can't stand when people take nice ol rigs like this and do all these mods like leave it. It's beautiful the way it is
At 13:00 you can still hear the engine, please turn up the background music even more...
Really Really enjoyed this video guys!
That Straight Six would also be the perfect Burn out engine/ All that power down low makes for AWESOME burn outs!
Overall love the build.
The way the turbo spools up when it's basically at red line wouldn't it make more sense to get a smaller turbo, that would work through most of it's rev range?
Rear gears would make a world of difference.
Agreed a 62-64mm turbo would be much better.
@@SGTJDerek that truck has 4.11’s or 4.56’s I guarantee it. What gears would you put in it exactly ?
@@raptor31able 3.54s maybe. 3.73 possibly. It's got enough grunt to run 'em.
@@SGTJDerek they said the rear end had 5.29’s lol. Wow that’s a lot of gear.
you helped me change my e brake shoes lol great video !!!
love this episode
need to do some steering work and differential stuff to it still!!!
My first episode! I liked it! Keep up the great work. Following
is that front axle really cast iron? I would have expected forged steel.
if the turbo takes that long to light off, maybe a little smaller turbo would drive better without giving up too much up top
After i rebuilt it i would put a stepside bed and put a 300 six in it with a 5 speed
I daily drive a 65 Ford f250 with 390. I just need the a/c to make it through the summer time.
Install the 300 i6 that he built up
Love this truck.
Love this truck. It would be cool if you either put in the engine build as part of the full build, or link to the full build on the engine. Anyway … as Pat would say “stellar!”
They do have the engine build on here, it's 3 episodes long, I believe. Just look for "engine power 300" and you should be able to find it.
It actually made LESS HP than I thought it would. And I wasn't expecting much.
Sweet build
Music City Trucks
1964 Ford Econoline
Man that’s one Sweet truck it looks cool a sleeper very nice boys you did good ❤️❤️💪💪👍👍😎🦘🇦🇺
Wooow so impressive work
Pat lock like 😂 15 pens 😂😂😂
It's also a good idea to do one side at a time so you don't swap adjusters and end up with the shoes backing off the drum every time you reverse.
Love it guys!!!!
would have been really cool to see that manifold converted to port injection
First build they’ve done i thought was worthwhile. Until they lowered it. Let’s remove springs from rear of a flat bed. Made for carrying stuff. Yeah great idea.
