Talk about a labor of love! I am watching these videos from oldest to newest. I can't wait to see what the convent looks like in the Spring of 2024 (where we are now in time).
What makes the Magnificent Pethericks so magnificent? You weren’t there 20 minutes and you courageously slayed The Offending Tree and the Gatekeeper Brambles and cleared part of the Sacred Path. This is like a classic adventure story!!!! I’m so here for it!!! Congratulations Billy and Gwen!!!
Congratulations! I love seeing the past beauty of the property starting to show itself! Lots of hard work ahead of you, but you are not afraid of hard work!
I love that you are including history about the convent. That really elevates your channel from renovation to historical restoration. Ernest is so adorable! 😊❤️🎶🌸🌻🌺🙏🇨🇦
Ernee, France (1819-2010) In 1819, a community of Hospitallers Canonesses of Saint Augustine, who had administered the local hospital in Ernee for approximately 200 years, was reduced to a small number of aging sisters. The Bishop suggested that this congregation become affiliated with the Hospitallers of Saint Joseph in Laval. This affiliation agreement was signed on May 24, 1819. As of this date, the RHSJ served the Ernee Hospital, their community being close to the hospital which was a public institution. The dilapidated state of this hospital forced the city to face a new construction which was completed in 1963. This new hospital is located on Paris Avenue, a few miles from the former hospital. This meant that the community of Sisters would be constituted in two groups, namely, the hospital community and the nursing home community which was close to the RHSJ convent. The Sisters pursued their activities at the hospital until 1986. One RHSJ was responsible for pastoral services until 2003. In 1975, following the construction of the new hospital in Laval, only eight Hospitallers served in this hospital. The Sisters of Laval joined the Ernee community then at a later date,1983-1985, the Sisters of La Fleche and Bauge joined this community which was designated as a community for senior Sisters. Aging and health of the Sisters, too much community space for the small number of Sisters were prime reasons for the Congregation to decide to close this convent/house in 2010. The Sisters pursued their social and pastoral apostolic services until the very end.
Idea, set a camera up on roof or in courtyard & daily take one picture from that location of the full court. Then when courtyard is done you can put a montage together of its progress. Then you don’t have to go back and search video and then put a montage together. So exciting to watch you put things right at the convent hospital. Thanks again for sharing.
Ooo, my fingers are itching to help clear the courtyard and garden. It was nice seeing Gwen helping. I think you are such a lovely couple. The excitement on your face, Billy! I just can't wait to see what you get up to. Congratulations!
My favorite part of the convent is the chapel by non. I get a strong feeling of serenity. I lived my first eight years In a convent with the sisters of Saint Frances of Asise. I'm old now, but my love for chapels have remained.💕🙏
WOW! What a difference with those pesky trees gone. The garden is just enormous. You're definitely going to need some help. The paving stones you cleared in the courtyard are really nice. I'm so excited to see you work on this place. After seeing all that your family has accomplished at the chateau, the convent is in the most capable hands. Enjoy your family time and get some rest. You're definitely going to need it. 💖💗💕
Who would have thought there was so much brick work under the weeds...it will make a beautiful patio. The condition of the building is just amazing. I look forward to watching the restoration. Y'all have a Blessed day.
Wow the Pethericks buy a place and hit the ground running. Love to see that. Getting that giant shrub/tree out of the way made a huge difference. Had to laugh, you didn't get to do it yourself, but Dad Mick came to the rescue again and it was outta there. Lol. So nice to see Gwen and the boys. What a new adventure for them also. So many things to explore. God bless your family.
I'm amazed at the size it looks so much more bigger from the back and the garden much bigger than I thought it's just gorgeous can't wait for the full tour 😀
Yerrrrrr your in…..!!! 👍🏻Loads of work ahead for you now & your family but I recon that it’s more your baby Billy, I’ll look forward to the fab transformation that you’ll do on this beautiful building 💪🏻 nice one dude 🥰🥰🥰 X

Congratulations to both of you. For your forward thinking on the renovation and restoration of this site. Many, many days of hard work to follow, but I know that Billy the Busy Bee and his Lady Gwen will overcome the obstacles. Looking forward to watching this story in the years to come.

This is going to be an exciting project to watch, or should I say "massive project" , I do have to say I will miss the daily vlogs, it been a highlight of my day seeing what you're up to on a daily basis.
It’s funny. You were talking so seriously about the Order of the Nuns, said, “ that was when Marie Antoinette still had her head”, had me laughing. Good start in the Courtyard, especially shoveling off the brick work walkway. I have to say, that was a lovely surprise see all that beautiful brick work. This is going to be a long ride, but so interesting, hopefully more history will come to light.. Mick looked very pleased his first job was blitzing that offending tree! And the path looks better already.. and Gwen just takes it all in her stride, lots to do for everyone! Have a great week! 👍🦘
So sad when buildings like this get left to be eaten up by the land. The beautiful architecture left unseen. This is going to be amazing. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
Pleas try and keep a majority of the trees on the inside if you can( if they don't pose a risk it structural damage) I enjoy the idea of having a lush interior courtyard. This is going to be a long ride, but so interesting, hopefully more history will come to light.. Mick looked very pleased his first job was blitzing that offending tree! And the path looks better already.. and Gwen just takes it all in her stride, lots to do for everyone! Have a great week! 👍🦘
You bought a f******* awesome property. If I was there I would help with the clean up. It is a privilege to keep a property like this. Cheers, mate!
I really enjoyed the green nature interior painting of the bathroom your wife did in the previous structure, I can't stop thinking about it whenever I watch your videos.
Oooohhhhh...... Seeing the exterior and the architecture is..... I love that style.😯🥰🏰

Well done Billy and Gwen! Blessings on this new project of yours. What a legacy the nuns have left. 🙏👍
I love the aerial view, looks like a great place for apartment complex and on to other side "cathedral" shared office space Like a "Wework"
Congratulations Gwen and Billy! This property is a gem that just needs to be polished up to it’s former beauty! Did you ever find out if the local Brocante you were at with Ryan actually had the alter? You said you thought you saw one under a pile of stuff.

Thank you letting us all in to watch you turn this mess into something magnificent.
Congratulations to you and your family! I couldn’t wait till Sunday to see this video . I love your content y and history and all the hard work you and your family do to restore these wonderful buildings! Your children are so adorable! Congratulations again and “see you on the next video”!!
There is something very satisfying about seeing a courtyard like that being cleared and restored, the cobbles coming back again and the trees out the way. Can't wait to see what you do with the place!
So exciting!! Oh my goodness that garden. It’s like a park😻. Billy I’m so happy that you and Gwen are going to make it nice again. You have so much potential in a place like this. And I think the community at large is going to be happy someone is caring for it again. What an amazing project. 😁
Congratulation Gwen and Billy looking forward to more vlogs .
O M G Billy I can’t believe how you cleared those paths - Superman! Such fun seeing it speeded up 😂 Great video.
The stonework is magnificent, you can see it was laid by expert masons. The courtyard will be beautiful, there's something comforting about an enclosed space. Perhaps a fountain in the middle?
