The passion Elijah expresses while he plays shows his soul is truly one with the music. The girls are outstanding as well!! Prayers the doors of Juilliard are opened to every one of your kids. May God continue to richly bless all of you!! Would y'all adopt me & my almost 15 yr old 😂? You would barely know we were there... I'd cook, clean, and babysit just for music lessons! Lol
I can't help but admire the hard work these kids have had to put into practice to be playing so beautifully and with such passion❤🙌🏽 Congrats mom and dad as well!! It's noticable you've raised your kids very very well🥰🥰
INCREDIBLE!!! God-given talent, but these kiddos also work so so hard for this! I'm proud of you, kiddos, for working hard and staying committed. im praying you each get what you are dreaming of! ❤❤❤
As a guitarist these videos blow my mind 🤯 we cheat and use fretts but I’ve played frettless instruments before and the precision needed to be right on a note is insane and that’s before you throw in the challenge of vibrato. These kids may all not get in but they are incredible musicians already ! I hope that doesn’t stop them
I think the reason Elijah was not accepted was because 1. For cellists 15 and above, it is quite difficult to get accepted (usually only 2-3 students get accepted), making it quite competitive 2. It’s not a lack of practicing, it’s more of not playing the right pieces. Saint Saens 1 mov is played by very young children so he probably should have played much much more difficult pieces such as Dvorak, Shostakovich, Schumann. You get the idea.
I literally live right across from the Manhattan School of Music and can see it from my apartment. I feel bad for the oldest son bc that's a great school too and I'm sure he's just talented and has just as much potential as the Juliard people
I love classical music. That love started in 6th grade when I first started playing in the school band. I played all the way through freshman year in college then stopped after that but if ever I need to just relax especially on a rainy day… classical is my go-to. 😌
I admire your passion with music!😍 I'm sure all Your hard work and dedication will pay off very soon! ❤️ I wish you all the best! 🥰 Enjoy playing and Good luck 😀
That is incredible! Are all the children that play naturally gifted or are some less natural at music but just as good because of the dedication and practice?
They are all pretty gifted but practice is so important!!! It makes a huge difference not only to practice for a certain amount of time but to also practice intentionally.❤️
I was cleaning and didn’t hear the names of who made it through but ran over curious to hear them play. As soon as I watched it I knew he passed. He had his whole body into it. They were all great though. The girls are still young and that can make a difference between playing well and being able to show passion. We have 8 kids and while they all play instruments, it isn’t their passion except the oldest that plays drums. The others play piano and trumpet. I played flute but didn’t enjoy it. Wish I would have done cello. No matter what, I think it is great for children to learn to play an instrument, even if it is just for fun while they are young.
When I was in college, I was majoring in vocal music performance, minoring in music literature. At my senior year “jury”, which is basically a private recital in front of the Dean of music, all of the vocal music teachers and a “surprise guest” who would all “grade” our jury performance. After all the juries were finished, our vocal teacher meets w/the students, discussing pro’s/con’s of their jury’s. This time, she had the “special guest” with her. This guest was a vocal “scout” for Juliard, and was a dear friend of our teacher! He had 4 scholarships to give to 4 of the students. I was one of the students! My dream had always been to go there. However, at the time (later 1980’s), there was no housing available to any student. Apartments around the area where Juliard was, was astronomical!! My parents (dad-pastor, mom-sales),barely was able to make ends meet as they raised 4 kids +them. We tried many “avenues” to try to get it so I could go. Everyone of these avenues fell through. I had to refuse the scholarship to my dream!
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET INTO JULLIARD??? I can’t believe they didn’t make it! God willing it will happen now. Such talented kids! Good job mom and dad!
I'm not a College student, I'm a highschool student, but from what I remember, Juilliard's acceptance rate is about 7%. The Curtis Institute of Music's acceptance rate is around 2%.
Yes she has said in another video that they already knew the ratio of acceptance was very low!! But now they are in the city doing this thing they have so much more opportunities for each of them!! She has also said that they are not affluent wealthy by any means and they absolutely live by faith 😊 they do grafic design work..they busk with their music have this RUclips channel and several of the children are on scholarship!! They are very creative and inventive in their approach to this life style!!
thank you! my dream college is julliard for acting! i don’t know if the auditions different (you have to do 4 memorized monolpuges) but thank you so much ❤
Wow! Such talented kids! Just wondering, how come in the first vid, Chloe's chin isn't rlly on the chinrest? I don't mean to be unkind, I'm just curious bc as a violinst myself, I have never seen this before
I am new to your channel and just subscribed. Did you and your husband teach them their instruments? Are you musicians as well? And have you always lived in New York? Wow they are so talented!
Wow 🤩! Great job parents! They have so much poise but at the same time are focused on their craft! I just love seeing young people in their element! Can’t wait to see how mine will be 🥰.
I'll tell you what is one professional player to another I'm impressed. When you were talking about the expensive violin and the other video I didn't know they actually played. They still got a long way to go though. I still remember my dad harping on me hold your head up your fingers aren't right Like I still remember that to this day. Talk about PTSD lmfao😅 they'll get there
Not everyone has the money to live the way they are but they’re investing in their children and they are such a sweet family. It’s upsetting to see how people diss them for it. It comes from jealousy and insecurity. Yet some are just naturally curious, but why should she divulge their personal information to us online. Would you have the nerve to ask anyone else to their face where they’re getting their money?! Or tell them how YOU think they should be living? Doubt it. Why don’t people get that upset with television/movie stars and sports players who make inordinate amounts of money and blow it on zillion dollar homes and cars and fashion and plastic surgery, and often times drugs, etc. Yet here is a family who is making their way to be able to invest in their children on every level, they don’t over spoil them with stuff, they’re well educated in the Word of God and in schooling. Their kids are readers! They’re kind, loving and helpful. They are bringing up their children in the way they should go… so they’re going to be assets to society instead of a burden. It’s hard enough to give that many kids everything they need as it is (love time and attention, physical needs etc but I don’t mean stuff) yet they’re doing it and much more. I just saw them three days ago for the first time and fell in love with the whole family. I’m watching all their videos! And I even live a little vicariously thru her cuz it’s a lifestyle I dreamed of having (not so much the musical end of it or the city living but having lots of kids and homeschooling and having a trailer to travel in and living on a farm, and having an invested loving, kind husband who truly loved the Lord first and foremost) but it didn’t work out for me that way. So I really enjoy their videos and how nice it is that we can share in people’s lives in a way we couldn’t otherwise if not for modern technology. And how inspiring to other young families who may not dare to dream that maybe they too could live the life of their dreams or even a scaled down version - but it’s all good. I hope their social media grows and grows to help them with all these expenses. 💟✝️💟
Beautiful talented young people. Heavenly music.

I just CANNOT believe all of her 7 kids WANT to go to juilliard...

Haha I’m not very good at it but I can try🙏😍❤️🥰
Genuine question: How do you afford to live in New York, with so many kids, and with extracurricular activities? Love your family ❤
I'd put them on a farm n let them play in a creek n let them play😢
With EXPENSIVE extra curricular activities! Not just little league. Lol Its the first thing I thought about watching this video.
