    My father was a son of a German farmer. He’s been dead for a while now. He one time said to me that the problem with the people in this country is they don’t know the difference between want and need. I think they’re going to start learning the difference pretty soon.

      I cringe in anger every time someone utters the completely inaccurate term of ‘demands’. Most consumption is consumerism. It is engineered and superfluous. Supply can and should be managed and ranked by importance, and demand can and should be managed by need. The mentality of abundance does not correspond with reality. I predict decreasing labour and increasing compensation on the supply side within a framework of industrial policy. And, on the demand side, more retail and public services, and a focus on sufficiency. The goal being qualitative and strategic growth that is stable, secure and sustainable.

    Inflation begins when dollars are printed. Printed dollars are a data input to the CPI. The CPI print is the feedback loop from printed dollars. Keynesians have been trying for decades to print dollars to create inflation-used as a signal to show the stimulus is working. Then before inflation gets entrenched, deflate by destroying printed dollars. The problem here is the Fed didn’t remove the dollars it printed to stimulate. So the higher prices are here to stay for a while. The dollar strength is transitory. You will see a weak dollar once those bonds the fed has on its balance sheet become difficult to sell as higher yielding assets will be more desirable to investors.

Never have I seen this level of outright lawlessness with nothing being done to stop it!! After being in business for more than 40 years I can only give this advice this to turn the tide and avoid the phantom of economic fall down. : A business needs to invest again and over again for the future to come , so does a country on a larger scale meaning : invest in better infracstructure, invest in better schooling education, invest in better basic health care, invest in technological research, make higher education affordable for anyone, it all costs a lot of money but that is all well spent on the long run. US and Europe can no longer compete with China or low paid jobs cqountries and we can't blame the Chinese for working 12 h a day like hell. We can only survive by know how and manufacturing high ingeneered products with patents and protection against copy right like we do in Europe and a ' plain equal field' and honest business with our competeters who steal or copy our research and sell it again at lower prices. The US better be aware to form a massive block with Europe, Canada and other western nations on ' fair trade ' and join all forces and efforts , otherwise China will become the most important economic power in the next years to come ... and will rule the world and tell us what to do and not to do !Economic power goes along with military power and God forbid we ever have a conflict again with China which has become a 'super power' during all these years , we gave away all our jobs and industry to China ... just like the Europeans put trust in Russia ... to supply for gas and oil and now are F**cked up !

      We had the mundial financial crisis in 2008, we had pandemic in 2020 and we managed world wide to overcome. In a civilised society we try not to have beggars on the streets, we help the poor and needed people, avoid conflicts, troubles and settle differences as much as we can,. We are a team together like in the army or in a cycle cross where we try to get every one over the edge instead of letting down who risk to fall behind. That is the real purpose of politics who must also guide economics, because the 'money' does not dissapear at all, it is only poor guided or wrong devided between the 'happy few' that take it for granted and the misfortunate who took the wrong bus, born in the wrong place or got unlucky by health or misfortune or didn't get the same chances ...no matter how hard they tried. If you have only 1000 dollars then you are extremely vulnerable, if you have 50.000 dollars you can easily last longer ..

They will not teach you how to be successful, only to be groomed to be part of their herd. For 30 years she warned me about China like a mad woman. Told me to be prepared soon before she passed away a few years ago. She calls China the sleeping dragon that has already awaken. It's too late. We now need to hold our ground and ride the wave. xavier viaene - Invest with WHAT?! We are so far in debt, and so inefficient with your "investments" which we've been doing at a mad pace for decades, not to mention insane policies like NOT going on a wartime basis to severely undercut Russian energy prices and bail out the even more idiotic Euros... You wanna know how these investments really work? There is, or maybe I should say was, a nice pond (almost a small lake) on a local refuge near me. It is visible from and has easy access to a nearby good road w/ plenty of traffic. The fishing there used to be excellent. That pond should be attracting anglers, which generates economic activity and revenue in several ways direct and indirect. But... The pond is gradually disappearing because the spillway is washing out. The refuge won't fix it because while repairs to merely replace what was there (maybe make it a little stronger / more durable) would cost maybe $10k, the studies and reviews and approvals needed to make even a tiny Federal project like this actually happen would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. That's right, well over 10x the cost to hire some guy with a backhoe and a 'dozer and maybe another guy with a truck to haul some rock fill... would go right back to gov't bureaucrats who'll likely take several years to do their studies and "impact" reviews and finally (maybe) issue their stamp of approval to simply put back what the Refuge biologists and the local (Actually "State") fisheries biologist all agree was working great for decades. You say you've been in business for 40 years -- well, I was too. If you were observant worth 2 cents instead of spewing platitudes you'd see this crap is EVERYWHERE, hobbling both business and even legit gov't activities like my example above. Don't even get me started on transportation projects... This is NOT sustainable, esp. when further abetted by our ever increasing "entitlement" State. The gov't compensates and kicks the can down the road by printing money (also note that the M1 money supply has jumped by an incredible 500%!!!), but even for the USA there is a day of reckoning. It's too late to start building your tornado proof house (at 10x what it should really cost) when the storm is at your back fence.

    There's inflation but not because we all have excess money and bought alot of stuff, but because of artificial inflation caused by the supply chain breakdown. You can raise rates to 200 percent and that still won't get energy delivered to the U.S and food put in the grocery stores. This is a global supply chain problem. Go ahead and raise those rates . That will just make the problem worse. Home builders weren't building any more homes than they used to. The lumber and goods used to finish the homes being built have been in short supply because of a breakdown in the supply chain to move the product.. They think the average citizen is awash in money. We're not. During covid alot of people lost their job and recieved two $1,400 stimulus checks which went to pay bills. Inflation probaly will go to 40% because the oil and energy are in short supply because of supply chain problems. China isn't bringing near as much to us so that product isn't even part of the supply chain. 26 food plants in U.S I heard burned down. Because of weather and lack of water, fertilizer and diesel, farmers can't produce near the amount of food they did. Fixing the supply chain and increasing the amount of energy we produce here in the U.S would help bring down inflation. They got it wrong in my humble opinion.

Iran is off the table due to Trump and his stupidity but clearly, Iran was producing some form of weapon's grade uranium since they are very close to producing a bomb. We should have blasted Maduro in Venezuela a long time ago and got their oil markets back up an running as they could be a huge producer of oil which is why China moved in when the US decided to be a coward. It was the restaurants and personal services that were affected the most. Those areas didn't recover because of Biden's handouts combined with Obamacare of all things. Obamacare told businesses that they should only hire 28 hour a week or less jobs to avoid having to pay for insurance of the employee. So...businesses either hired at 40-hour pluse at limited capacity or kept their staff at 28 or 24 hours a week.....either or. Nothing in the middle! The full time jobs are harder to come by, and the 28 hour a week jobs *sans insurance* are easier to come by, but nobody wants them. Energy pricing is the culprit for most of the rising prices people see.
    Gas pump prices are a direct result of fossil fuel company manipulation, and could be addressed in no time if oil refineries run at max production levels, but they're held back to increase profits. Don't take my word for this, listen to oil exec interviews for the last 18 mths. Do your own Internet search for data published by the oil industry themselves and Federal and state government reports. They all say that as recently as April and May (weeks ago) 2022, refining capacity is running at only 85-90% of full capacity and less than even max production during the Covid economic slowdown (95% of max during Covid epidemic). There is no reason to be restricting production other than to keep prices high, there is no maintenance shutdowns, and there are no repairs being made.
    I can't see how the Biden administration can be blamed for oil industry misbehavior other than doing a poor job of publicizing the damning facts and lack of arm twisting. This is just the oil industry in a snit for whatever reasons, without empathy for the pain they are causing the American people. Once can only speculate, but I would suggest that maybe it's because leases have been canceled the oil industry wasn't exploiting and don't need to achieve max production. Maybe it's a silent protest against Transition to Green policy. Whatever the reason might be, high energy prices are going to cause more harm than simply high gas pump prices. Chemical fertilizers to grow crops are made from NG and high costs will be passed on to the Consumer as higher food prices. People will have less to eat and there will be fewer items on grocery store shelves.
    At least an investigation is warranted, and if necessary some arm twisting to motivate good citizen behavior is needed.

      We don’t have control over prices, but we do have some control on what we spend. The system we live in pushes us to consume, often more than we need, so inflation is a way of telling us to cut back on some of those excesses. As far as investments are concerned, equities have been in an inflationary bubble so markets are correcting those excesses as well. Warnings signs were there, but whenever they’re mentioned everyone just shoots them down. It’s hard to feel sympathetic. However, we aren’t totally “screwed”, as the ship always rights itself, eventually.

    • @AndyGraceMedia
      @AndyGraceMedia 2 года назад

      That's because the time for plausible ideas was back at the 2008 Financial Crisis. Instead Bernanke's idea was to pretend the debt didn't exist and hide it on the Fed's balance sheet rather than letting the western world sort it out the right way with bankruptcies and haircuts for bondholders. Instead we just made the problem orders of magnitude worse. Now when it's all finally imploding, nobody has any idea what to do- because there's nothing that can be done.
      Probability is the Fed raises another 50-75bps but inflation will keep rising, the bond yield is still about negative 6% ini real terms. So we now have stagflation, which will roll into an inflationary depression. Employment will crater, those living on tech and service jobs based on cheap money will lose their gravy -train, the day trader will need jobs, the retired won't have anything to live on as their aggressive stock portfolios and even bonds will be smashed, so they'll need jobs too.
      Then the Fed will panic with a spike in unemployment, have to talk down inflation and focus on the employment mandate, so they'll reverse course again, QE/print like crazy to try to save the system but end up killing the dollar and the reserve currency status with it. So you'll have China and Russia's new currency based trading bloc, the EU and Japan collapsing under the weight of their mess, Middle Eastern oil nations demanding payment in gold or yuan, Belt and Road countries starting to do OK using the new eYuan or whatever they call it and trillions in foreign dollar reserves will come flooding back adding to inflation.
      Some of us have been screaming this non stop for 14 years, but too late now.

    what's to be expected when you shut down the whole economy for year+ (how many small businesses died from that?) and print trillions of "free" dollars? Paying people not to work, making them entitled and lazy? Or opposing/slowing oil production locally in the US. That's nice that you want to be green, but it's stupid and unrealistic to think we can switch from oil to electric in an instance, just because, what? You want/think things ought to be a different way? Uh, you do know Tesla, a cutting edge company of 90k+ employees, took like a decade+ just to create that EV technology, make it popular, and feasible? All the while almost going bankrupt several times. The tech is still a wip, it needs to be a lot cheaper to reach mainstream use. But that involved several what, 100,000's of man hours from some of the smartest people to get to the point where we are today. It's childish to think otherwise, technology does not just come out of thin air. It's going to take several more years, maybe decades, for green technology to mature and become viable to the point of replacing oil, slowing oil down now is just making people suffer needlessly. You can cry all you what about the environment, that doesn't change that it takes real time and dang hard effort to grow the technology.
    If you really want change, then BE the change in the world. Don't be entitled and complain to others to do the work for you. You learn and aid the tech, or work in the capacity you can, and send money to the corporations / causes you support. Being a Karen to social media or to the govt to do it all for you isn't internally providing actual value or helping. If the govt keeps printing "free" money, things will get worse. We're turning towards socialism, we'll all be equal, sure, equally broke and impoverished. Except perhaps some of the people at the top. But hey, corruption isn't new. Any human institute will have corruption in some form. Capitalism as a system at least allows the average person to better their situation through hard work and effort. Socialism discourages innovation and encourages laziness. Why work hard or extra if everyone, including everyone slacking off and living in their parents basement and playing videogames and watching videos all day, gets the same thing? The smarter choice would be to be lazy. Unfortunately this results in the breakdown of society. Food, electricity, clothes, goods, clean water and water treatment, doesn't magically come out of nowhere. Someone has to work to produce it. No one will work if there's no incentive, or worse, if there's incentive to not work. There are several videos on it. See any video by a self made millionaire. Their advice will be the same, don't wait for free handouts, take control of your time, goals, habits, go put in the work and make something of yourself. Find a heavy load and lift it, clean your room. Wake up early. Keep going even if people around you can't see it, or even if they discourage you. Live like no one else today, so you can live like no one else later. Get a budget, get out of debt, stop spending more than you make. Ultimately no one else can make these decisions for you, but you.

      The world will be nearly out of fossil fuels by 2050 with the rate we are using them and that's with Biden doing everything in his power to reduce fossil fuels. We either suffer now and try to switch before it's too late, or run out of fossil fuels before we even have the option to switch. Going green isn't just for the environment, it's so that we can actually still have power and not go back into the dark ages in 30 years when we run out of fossil fuels.

    • @timothyn4699
      @timothyn4699 2 года назад

      @@Kiernangaming Fossil fuels could disappear tomorrow, that wouldn't change the fact that the technology /infrastructure is not there yet, and we can't just switch to electric on a dime just bc we wish to. The tech isn't there yet, the cheapest quality elec cars are out of budget for most people (~$40k?) and can't yet be produced cheaply enough. Battery materials and etc are in low supply and not adequate to replace all ice cars at this time even if we had the tech/money to do it. [Though... perhaps we could make something feasible if we could somehow erase all cars and change the car standards from big and clunky (weighing x thousand pounds) to all using go carts or something]. You'd certainly get better gas mileage. That would be a large scale effort though. Might change the speed limits. We already have motorcycles, tho of course one accident and you have high likelihood it seems to be dead/disabled so there's clear disadvantages. Unsure if there's a reason cars are as big/heavy as they are, might be the best we have tech wise, might be the best for safety reasons, not really sure.
      I'm not saying don't take action, I'm saying be realistic about the timeline and don't expect the world to change overnight. Just throwing money around won't necessarily help either, since it's a tech problem. It takes talented engineers and time to solve these very very complex issues. There might be a limit and some of the issues might be unsolvable. That said, if it is solvable, it's more likely a thing that has to take 5-10-15+ years before it could happen.
      Also if Biden's goal is to be green, maybe invite Tesla to the White House EV summit next time and honor and esteem them then rather than pretending they haven't led the way these past several years in making EV's popular and putting it on people's radars, making it trendy, desirable, and more feasible technology-wise
