hey Raymond ! I was wondering how many changes are in total, I am doing a biology lab report about attention capacity and im using this video to test some candidates.
I don't think that change blindness is a function of capacity but rather the span of iconic memory. Let me know what you think. Also how'd the lab report go?

Honestly, the young lady in boots walking by stole all my attention, as Im sure it did for most men (which I'm sure was the intention). However despite that, I did notice there was something off about the bikes and the old lady with the pig. I just didn't realize what happened with each.
Its an attention test, so of course you pay attention to everything but what is being talked about. It was quite clear it was completely different from the shot at the beginning.
@lygophile Anyone with an ounce of critical thinking skill would understand what was telegraphed here. It's not bragging to suggest that anyone with a normal level of skill should be able to figure that out, it's exactly the opposite.

I only noticed the lady walking by, the colors of the buildings changing, and the pig. 🤦🏽♀️ It zoomed out. I know I am terrible with details so better than nothing 😅
I didn't notice right away, but I did notice way before the end. I saw motion in the corner of my sight (the tower appearing on top of the building) just a little bit before the halfway mark, and when I saw the subtitles "You think nothing's happening?" it was a dead giveaway. I rewound just 5 seconds and saw some changes and then let it keep playing and watched it change. I think if it hadn't said that or if it had no subtitles at all, I wouldn't have noticed for a bit longer, but I definitely would have noticed when the shade-thing (what is it called, an awning?) appeared or when the street lamp disappeared.. Either channels like this severely underestimate the average person's IQ, or I'm some sort of genius.
