- The rich variety of the current classical music scene was echoed in the awards presented to UMG artists. Harpist Magdalena Hoffmann was named a "Young Talent of the Year" for her Deutsche Grammophon debut 'Nightscapes', while fellow DG artist Albrecht Mayer won "Concerto Recording of the Year" for his chart-topping 'Mozart' album.
“The wonderful range and diversity of the recordings recognised at the OPUS KLASSIK 2022 awards show just how genre-defying and all-embracing classical music has become,” says Dr Clemens Trautmann, President Deutsche Grammophon.

Magdalena Hoffmann
Conventions have never prevented German harpist Magdalena Hoffmann from following her creative instincts. She inspires audiences of all ages as recitalist, chamber musician, orchestral player, educator and animateur, her virtuosity on the modern concert harp supported by her understanding of the instrument’s long history. Whether performing as principal harp of the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, exploring a rich recital repertoire, devising projects involving theatre and the visual arts, or creating absurd sketches, she is above all a supremely gifted communicator. “The harp has always been the poet’s and the storyteller’s instrument,” she notes. “It’s a wonderful vessel for adventures of the imagination.”

Albrecht Mayer
Albrecht Mayer has lived with Mozart’s music for almost half a century. His encounters with the composer began while he was a boy soprano in the Bamberg Cathedral Choir and have multiplied over the course of his international career. The 55-year-old German oboist has waited until now, however, to record his first all-Mozart album, a personal and affectionate tribute to one of the greatest composers who ever lived. Mayer’s album, made in partnership with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and harpsichordist Vital Julian Frey, was recorded this summer in the warm acoustics of the Church of St Cosmas and St Damian in Lower Saxony.

There are very good 😊👍 melodies in the classical music 🎵 , but some are just angelical ,, being this one among the best... Please someone tell me ? Where are they from ?? And especially they look so young,,, one more reason to admire them......
The oboist, Albrecht Mayer, has been principal oboist with the Berlin Philharmonic for over 20 years. He also plays with ensembles of the Philhamonic, the Berliner Philharmonisches Bläserensemble and the Berlin Philharmonic Winds Soloists, amongst other chamber music ensembles and has done many recordings.

now that is D-Major and the chant of the oboe ( just like them woods very much... ) is much to my delight, as the delight I just told of ( ...underneath Sinas clip... ) stems from something that is not necessarliy correlated to the music... ...and I do like the promenade in the clouds of heaven all solo instruments pull off in the sets Mozart framed in the tempi without allegro and presto and vivace and stuff... ...this promenade in the clouds of heaven, where it is sometimes melancholy sometimes felicity you encounter, differs by the way very much from the slow tempi Beethoven came up with as there you got most at the time very grave and serious stuff that seldom gets in this floating-mood and reminds you all the time how unfunny life is... ...and how unfunny you are obliged to ponder it... ...and I like both but personally I am more into Beethoven... ...apart from when my Doro ( ...can't wait to hug you - for good - Dorothea... ) stuffs me with... ...now Mozart... ...then I do not say a word...

Great but all that camera zooming is terrible IMHO.
I greatly miss that times when Mr Mayer played his previous oboe made by another manufacturer. His present oboe is a fat, dull and lifeless piece of wood. The magic has gone.
Isn't he always playing on a Mönnig? But you are right, I do not like this instrument very much, especially in the beginning. Cold? Reed? (Eric from Belgium, Marigaux-addict 😉).
@@ericclaes3232 , just listen to his Bach' album Lieder ohne Worte recorded on a Buffet Greenline. It is the sound that made him famous. Get back, Mr.Mayer- I miss you...
