Isn't a 3/16" bit too big? I'm using #9 gauge screws, which apparently have a 11/64" diameter. So, unless I'm missing something, the hole from the drill will have a 0.1875" diameter, and the screw going in will have a 0.171875" diameter. I'd think you'd want the hole to be slightly smaller, or at most, the same size as the screw so it's tight.
