I got to see my very first mini ramp in the flesh last week as it was in an actual skatebord shop and my first reaction that tumbled out of my mouth ( as thing genrally do) was "So thats what a mini ramp is , you think its the only one in the district?" The guy laughed and said " i think so " . More i looked at it more i realized i would not know what to do with it as my first ramp and the smallest ramp ive ever skated was a 5 footer as i had already mentioned befor , there is not one at any of the skate parks ive ever been too. I have little day dreams of owning my own property with a machine shed with a polished concrete floor and sticking a 10 footer , may be a 7 or 8 footet and a 5 or a 6 footer in it creating my own privet in door skate park with a few diffent hights of half pipes , vert ramps and moveable manny pads, hubbers , hips ,flat banks , a few diffent hights flat round bars ,a wee little pea rail that was really long and maybe a 5 stair with a rail . And to be totally delusional, i need a concreat bowl too in my back yard.lol My dreams are of Champaign tastes but im on a lemonade budget . But to not dream big , not even the small will happen so good on you . You have your little jam skating patch in you old lounge room... you must install a mirror ball and may be at the very lest just some multi coloured xmas lights with something to play some tunes in there. But im still at a loss of what to do on a mini ramp ? Maybe get really board with it would be the out come. I like rush of doing big ass ramps and full hard and fast lines in the bowl.. Adrenalin junky here. At least im self confessed and turning 50 soon so cracking down to a mini ramp now would make me feel like i just got a zimmer frame.. lol ... hell no , id rather die doing something crazy 🤣
Your dream private skatepark sounds awesome! Mini ramps are fun to skate when one gets the hang of the 'bounce' back and forth between coping/deck tricks, almost like a trapeeze/swing😆
At 40 I'm just about finishing putting together my first ramp. I figure I can drop in, kick turn, and rock to fake, and even axle stall. I got this haha. The instructions with my ramp don't say to space out the gator skins. I live in the pnw so def will. I like the fence on your decking, mines not as wide but I think a fence( hand rail) is a good idea. I notice your ramp is elevated like mine, I'm nervous to fly off it.
I skated the ugliest skate park a few weeks ago while out of town i thought id check out their "big " skate park. Omg , the ramps where all badly fabricated sheet metal ramps that where all warped so bad and just dud not feel stable as they buckled in the warps as you skated them . Some one should have worded up the citly of arrarat that the lay out was an awasome idea but where they cut corners on the ramps is the reason it was a gohst town at 3pm on a Saturday with beautiful weather. Only if they used the money for all the concrete benches that had the shade sail over them for people who do skate to look at their phons on and poured some concrete in to ramps instead , people may use it . Yup , dodgy jobs dont make skating fun at all .

Yes we have almost flown off this ramp a couple of times! Be sure to look where you want to go, lol😂
im happy you realized that skatelite or gator is the ONLY WAY. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. CANT BE CHEAP!
Yes I realize this now and am very happy. With the cost of lumber these days NOTHING about this ramp has been cheap!
