    I think singles are more economical financially in general, but opening wax is more fun/satisfying when finding stuff.

    I think another underrated pro to ripping is that the card is "new". Even if you buy a raw single or even a graded card, it has already been owned and touched by someone else. For me, there's something about being the only person to have owned a card that I like. Idk the full process of cutting sheets and packing and/or removing the card from a card saver and encasing when you submit for grading, but part of me thinks it's possible that my card has only realistically been touched by my hand and my hand only, which to me, makes it a bit more special.

    I’m new to this hobby but having a lot of fun and trying to learn. My son pulled a Junior Caminero 1989 auto from a topps hanger box. He wants to keep it for a while, hoping Junior becomes a star. Does it make sense to get it psa graded?

    What do you think is the best baseball hobby box to rip for ROI? I’m hearing Topps chrome is the best but it’s pretty great the return Stryker got on ripping heritage. I’m thinking of buying a case what do you guys suggest?

    What are your thoughts about selling base rookies(raw) in lots. I typically put 3 or 5 base cards in a lot to maximize my time. I hate shipping singles under $5

    The Bobby Witt Super in heritage high hasn’t been pulled yet, saw the Julio get pulled though , that’s probably a huge modern card still hiding

    You must have a really great grading deal at PSA if it only costs you $160 to grade all those cards. For the average person it's like $20 per card which makes it not very smart to send in a card that's only worth $30 as a PSA 10, if it doesnt come back a 10 you're losing money.

    • @StrykerBreaks
      @StrykerBreaks  3 месяца назад +1

      I was saying that the 8 best to grade at $20 to grade would be $160. Sorry if it was confusing. It's tough to figure out what everything is worth and what's worth sending off so I was just trying to estimate some things.

    Only thing I noticed that might be a little off in the experiment is that you only subtracted the grading fees for the ones you were accounting for gemming. Thank you very much for this experiment. Extremely entertaining, in the name of science!

    To me it depends upon the product. When wax wasn't so highly priced, the risk wasn't that bad. There is far more benefit to me in most cases to just buy the card. I PC Kobe so in most cases its cheaper to buy the card I want. 90s wax is way too highly priced. On the newer stuff, it seems to me it varies . With high cost products like Sapphire, I feel it's better off to buy singles. Thank you for sharing Stryker. As usual, very informative

    Hey. Think your overvaluing the B tier autos and variations. Unfortunately there not worth anywhere near what they should be worth. Either way. You did very well on the cases you ripped.
    Throwback variations are the most valuable/desirable cards from heritage. Very tough to pull tho

    Great content and you’re right on the pros and cons. Ripping wax is so much fun and there’s opportunity to hit big. I feel like you gotta buy a lot of wax to get odds in favor for you to hit big cards hence opening two cases. I think if you’re buying 1 hobby box just buy the card you want but 2 cases that can get real interesting of course gotta have the capital

    Ripping is great when it's strategic, like with this Heritage product. The price for hobbies has dropped to a very good price, there's 2 top tier rookies to chase, a decent amount of 2nd tier rookies,the upside vs. price is huge with the Real Ones and the numbered parallels, smallish set so you get quite a few of the top rookies in a case to potentially grade.
