Yeah it’s not always the techs fault if a job takes longer than book time. Many times the service writer does a terrible job writing estimates. If you live in the rust belt like me a 10 hour transmission job always needs to be quoted a few extra hours for rust causing bolts to break or be hard to remove.
1) No advice is 100% correct! 2) Online forums are like parts cannon techs. 3) Manufacturers' info should be part of the vehicle purchase. 4) There is always a disconnect between computer geeks and reality.
Currently using Alldata products and i have to say it really needs some small improvements in order to be more efficient with customer service. I spoke to my local rep and gave her some great ideas but never got a response.

I use both. Alldata has a lot of information for the majority of the vehicle your working on. It's great for information to repair major and minor components like engines, transmissions, general r&r procedures and is the main diagnostic and repair site I go to. Identifix is where I go if Alldata doesn't have what i'm looking for and is mostly for diagnostics. Get a demo of both if you can to see which is the best fit for you. Alldata cost me more but to me its worth it since I get more information.

Live repair assistant should be a part of the package if I have to pay extra I rather try to figure out myself to save more money and make more money.
