No oled screen issues 1. Sonar only works on PC, GG engine is for consoles, so if you're primarily a consoles player, you won't get the full features. 2. The DAC connects to one headset, via 2.4gh only. But does Bluetooth simultaneously. Pretty much 2 devices to the headset not to the DAC. 3. Nice I like this is very useful to me, the sound section too, do you know if the black one also has the smaller nub?, I'm scared to buy white because I'm worried they will get dirty quick.
On their websites there are three different options: Pc and PS, PS and Pc, or Xbox and Pc, which one allows you to connect to mobile for Bluetooth aswell thanks to
Still worth it for me. The white version looks very nice. I never had a problem with the ANC bump. But it's nice to see a redesign. 5/14 should be interesting, new Nova line?
@@thelastnatty8537 SteelSeries "Season of Sound" Roadmap-- 5.14, New Line Launch.. Sounds like we're getting something new, may or may not be related to gaming headsets.
@@thelastnatty8537 I agree. Before this video. I thought for sure we would be getting a new headset. I dismissed the White Nova, but then Techne went into detail about how they changed the ANC inside the cups. I think you're right. SteelSeries wouldn't go through the trouble of making a revision, only to have a version of that product category release a few weeks later. It will be interesting to see what they release, we've seen mic's and speakers recently; what's next? maybe a Streamdeck-like device. SS might play it safe and release 2024 revisions for existing products.
3 things I would have liked to have seen from the originals, 1 The Dac screen dosent have burn in, 2 I would have liked to have seen a one button switch off on the Dac, 3 Some sort of material lining within the battery earcup as to dampin the noise of changing the battery when the headset is on your head.. 4 The Dac itself starts to spaze out after a year meaning you cant get to the off standby menu without it going to the main menu. Anyone one who`s has had the originals will know this as its a problem with them....
So, I have the Arctis Pro Wireless and wanted to ask here if the Nova pro has the same hinge issue... The little knob that's holding the cup keeps breaking on my Arctis Pro... this is my second one, and it's less than a yr old.
I ordered one from Amazon and it arrived today. I was expecting the huge knob and ordered some Wicked Cushions to "solve the issue"... when I removed the stock pads I was surprised by the updated knob... so yep, if you buy the Xbox Version today... it most likely will be the "updated" version... or I might have just got lucky :P
Trying to debate between these and the Sony pulse elite. Interested in knowing which one you prefer. I do understand it’s a price different but just wondering what the superior headset is?
Be careful with the pulse elite unless you have a big head they are not going to fit well plus they are all plastic just broke mine after one month . Just a heads up@RED-bz9hn
mine had the right ear cup come apart after less then a year and very careful with them the threads holding striped out some how. head set was great but ive had $40 headsets years old that still hold up im now buying a jbl quantum 810. they are built way to cheap for the price tag and you can not buy just the headset to replace if they break.
I want know did the ANC get more powerful than black one? cause black one's ANC actually no useful, If sony xm4 headset ANC is 100 percent level , nova pro ws is 33 percent maybe
Apparently you need ones that are dated 2023-09 or later to get the newest version. If you’re at a store, just look at the back of the box. Much harder if you’re ordering online.
I have the original version of these with the larger ANC nub, the shape of my ears must work well for these because it doesn't bother me at all. My main complaint with these is the base station that's required to use them. Within the warranty period the base station volume knob went all wonky on me. If I try to adjust it in any direction whatsoever it just jumps to maximum volume. Contacted steel series and they wanted me to upload a RUclips video of what it was doing. Is it just me or is that the most PITA warranty process? Just seemed so ridiculous and high effort for something so simple. Not sure why all of these tech companies are constantly trying to reinvent the RMA process. My second gripe with these is the GG software that creates virtual inputs and outputs for the headset. Somehow its always messed up in some way or another regardless of how you set it up. Recently it hasn't been processing my microphones audio and its being used raw with no noise gate or anything applied. I do love the ability to be able to use them with bluetooth and 2.4 ghz at the same time, for me that's such a dealbreaker. Being able to be on a call and playing a game or watching a video on a different device is so fantastic. I may just buy another set and switch out the base station and return it cause steel series irritated me with their unreasonable warranty process so much. Even on this original version the noise canceling is not that great. Compared to QC35 II's from 2019 these might as well not even have ANC. I tried the wicked cushions cooling gel earcups and it made the ANC so abysmal I had to return the earcups. Very noticeably worse than stock. Overall I'd give them a 6.5/10 considering their lack of reasonable customer service, price, and general build quality of the accessories. I have an apex keyboard from them too and the volume adjuster on it acts exactly like the base station. Breathe on it and the volume shoots to level 100. Luckily the volume wheel on the headset themselves works, or I'd have no physical way of adjusting the volume. For $350 I just expected better to be honest and would not recommend anyone purchases steel series products in the future. Expensive and they don 't stand behind their products whatsoever.
I'm struggling to find comparisons between these and the 9x. I have been thru FOUR pairs of them and even tried to get away from them because of the defect I keep having a problem with but the sound quality just keeps bringing me back. Are these better or just comparable even? Hell, for the Type C, I might just make the jump anyway.
Is side tone still getting nerfed when you update this headset to its newest firmware? With the black version of this headset manufactured in 2023. If you update your products firmware it nerfs side tone so that on high you can barely hear yourself.
Im on xbox. For these headphones i have to plug them into my laptop everytime i want to change the sonar preset EQs. Yet they bring an app out for the nova 5s and not for these!! Its ridiculous, thousands of complaints of this have been ignored
Returned mine after 1 week. I have a small head and ears, my ears were still poking the plastic inside. Was not comfortable to wear at all, and not to mention the infuriating Sonar software. It adds _SIX_ devices/drivers to your windows, so if you have your own structure/routine for other speakers/conferance devices forget about it. Every time Windows restarts, it resets to one of the Sonar devices. Maybe works better with consoles, I don't know. Just awful. Went straight back to wired Sennheiser.
Its all same no difference. Spent money on audeze maxwell not this. Trust me. I had white and I have black ones but nothing can compare to maxwells. Even my old logitech are better this.
How does the base station work? Does it need to be powered by an adapter? Does it need a cable connection to PC? I game with a laptop on the couch and not sure if the station is a deal breaker versus other models with plain USB dongle (no wires).
Can Sonar be used on Console yet? Like the Astro A50X where you can use Logitec G Hub to configure, then it saves the settings to the headset sp can be used on console. Can Sonar do this?
I know that I am a bit late to the comment section on this one but I'm curious, I live in Australia and the base price for it is $788 for the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro and right now it is on sale for half price, is it worth upgrading from the HS80 MAX to this?
you may notice a little bit worser mic but this does have a LOT more features then the hs 80 max up to you just buy them and if you do not like them then return it, but for many and at least for me I love them and I have the non updated version lol
It's funny that you just posted a re-review of the Nova Pro Wireless because I actually just returned my pair I just bought a few days ago simply because to my surprise is that Steelseries didn't carry one very important feature from the original Arctis Pro Wireless and that is a "sleep/timeout" display feature. They implemented a dimming timeout, but not an all out blank screen timeout like the old ones. This just baffles me why it's not a feature anymore considering how many people had OLED burn it on the old basestation. Omitting this feature is just crazy to me, and was a deal breaker.
@@piggy9812for power save mode? Hell nah. This feature should be an option to enable for the user to decide, you would imagine it would save battery life.
@@TrekBuilder yeah the bass station. there was an update where it never turned off for me either and i would always unplug it for it to turn off. but then i went through its settings and turned that on and when my pc powers off it also turns off. i had the same problem and for me at least that fixed it
Can someone tell me if I can use any 3.5mm jack on Arctis Nova Pro wired or does it need the proprietary 5pole to 4 pole 3.55 jack for the mic to work? Because I've bought on that came with 4 pole on both ends and no mic functionality with those. Wondering if my mic is Dead on arrival.
I used the Nova Pro Wireless since its launch, and the base station now has some OLED burn in. It’s pretty noticeable from afar, but doesn’t bother me too much. I do think this is a pretty poor design choice though.
my frames are wire thin, and the leather muff causes me no discomfort at all, but if you have thick framed plastic frames id recommend getting a more cushioned earmuffs, they are easily swappable. you'll lose out on the noise cancelation quality but its super worth it even without noise canceling.
I have the Arctis pro wireless, and sadly they have just broke after 3 years or so. Should I get the nova for a next pair or go for another wireless pro lol *decisions decisions* :D
Has anyone tried the Astro a 50x AND Steelseries arctis nova pro wireless. i have a friend who has the Nova Pros but the new ASTRO X is look really nice too! i love the design. so if you have tried both of them how do they compare to eachother?
I just purchased this headset but I am running into a problem trying to set it up. I have connected the headset using the information guide, yet when I turn on the headset, the station doesn't detect it and I hear a constant beeping sound. Also, the station doesn't show my battery in the charger charging. First off, the beeping in the headset: is that an indication that the battery is not charged, and if so, would that be why I am unable to pair the headset to the station? I sent in an email to support and they only responded by sending me an RMA number to order a new pack of batteries. So, has anyone else have the problem I am dealing with, and was it the batteries that caused it?

Nice I like this is very useful to me, the sound section too, do you know if the black one also has the smaller nub?, I'm scared to buy white because I'm worried they will get dirty quick.
667th like 💯👍🏾
On their websites there are three different options: Pc and PS, PS and Pc, or Xbox and Pc, which one allows you to connect to mobile for Bluetooth aswell thanks to
Still worth it for me. The white version looks very nice. I never had a problem with the ANC bump. But it's nice to see a redesign.
5/14 should be interesting, new Nova line?
What do you mean 5/14?
@@thelastnatty8537 SteelSeries "Season of Sound" Roadmap-- 5.14, New Line Launch.. Sounds like we're getting something new, may or may not be related to gaming headsets.
@@anddo24 I doubt they would drop these then go and have a whole new line but who knows
Is the ANC knop smaller on the black version aswell? Were you to buy that one today :)
Can you use sonar and mess around with eq on ps5? Or can you only use the ps5 internal eq settings?
How to tell new vs old version of Arctic Nova Pro Wireless? Is black v1 and white v2?
By manufacturing date. All manufactured after june 2023 is the updated one.
How are these compared to the master dynamic mg20($179) which are the better option nova pro($250)
Trying to debate between these and the Sony pulse elite. Interested in knowing which one you prefer. I do understand it’s a price different but just wondering what the superior headset is?
Pulse elite 100%
Be careful with the pulse elite unless you have a big head they are not going to fit well plus they are all plastic just broke mine after one month . Just a heads up@RED-bz9hn
@@xman2k3 I literally had the same issue had mine for about 2 months. Don’t fit very well unless you have a large head or a lot of hair
I really dont like the sound of the mic on the headset. any way to make it better?
is there any updates to the speakers bigger or improved drivers?
I'm in, just ordered the white ones ❤
mine had the right ear cup come apart after less then a year and very careful with them the threads holding striped out some how. head set was great but ive had $40 headsets years old that still hold up im now buying a jbl quantum 810. they are built way to cheap for the price tag and you can not buy just the headset to replace if they break.
Hi, great video. Do you happen to know the model number for the updated version? Is it the 61520 or another?
I want know did the ANC get more powerful than black one? cause black one's ANC actually no useful, If sony xm4 headset ANC is 100 percent level , nova pro ws is 33 percent maybe
I want the updated version in black but can't seem to distinguish what is what... needed to return about 6 of them for not being the right version.
Expensive and they don 't stand behind their products whatsoever.
i have the arctis nova pro wireless which i love but cant anywhere especially in the UK find the official replacement batteries! any help or advice?
Will these still be better than the turtle beach stealth pro?? Just wondering what you guys in the comments feel??
Is the ESS Sabre 9218PQ40 chip in the gamedac in the wired version of this product also in the gamedac module of the wireless version?
Do you know the serial number for the new one? They still have multiple ones listed on most sites but none of them say updated ANC mic. Thanks.
Does the setting save on the device when transferring to a console or any other device
Is side tone still getting nerfed when you update this headset to its newest firmware?
With the black version of this headset manufactured in 2023. If you update your products firmware it nerfs side tone so that on high you can barely hear yourself.
The single pint of connectivity to the cup is a weak point. My last two broke at the exact same spot.
is it plug and play? do i need to install a software driver so that it will be working? I plan to use it for 3 laptops for work
How the hell the nub touches the ear if the cuff is over an inch deep 🤔 I've tested them out and never felt the nub.
Some people got elf ears 😂😂
Would you recomend them over the newest G PROX 2 sound quality wise?
I would
Returning mine. It’s so basey and muds out the gun sounds. Not a lot of EQ customization options either
@@0dteESmini try dolby atmos
which is better? did you find an answer?
Are these good wired and the wired one or wired will be still better then thsese wired?
Im on xbox. For these headphones i have to plug them into my laptop everytime i want to change the sonar preset EQs. Yet they bring an app out for the nova 5s and not for these!! Its ridiculous, thousands of complaints of this have been ignored
With the update does wired still sound better than the wireless version?
I’ve got the black shark v2 pros and nova 7p. But want to return one. Only thing concerning me about the razer is if it will break easily overtime
Does the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 have the same problem with the ANC sticking out? I couldn't remember if it has ANC.
Doesn't have ANC.
What is the best all round gaming headset for PS5 today’s day?❤️🤝🏻
How can one be sure to order the updated version, is there a serial number of similar to look for ?
Its all same no difference. Spent money on audeze maxwell not this. Trust me. I had white and I have black ones but nothing can compare to maxwells. Even my old logitech are better this.
How does the base station work? Does it need to be powered by an adapter? Does it need a cable connection to PC? I game with a laptop on the couch and not sure if the station is a deal breaker versus other models with plain USB dongle (no wires).
It needs a cable to connect to your PC.
It comes with the cable you need to connect it to your laptop. USB-A to USB-C.
Can Sonar be used on Console yet? Like the Astro A50X where you can use Logitec G Hub to configure, then it saves the settings to the headset sp can be used on console. Can Sonar do this?
Is white one better than black one? Is update any things or not
Does it have same chip as Nova 5?
Omitting this feature is just crazy to me, and was a deal breaker.
they do have it. if you had turned on power save mode it would turn off, at least for me on pc it worked
@@piggy9812for power save mode? Hell nah. This feature should be an option to enable for the user to decide, you would imagine it would save battery life.
@@tyl3rb-fw6ee what are you on about
No, power save mode is for the headset, not the Basestation. I am talking about the Basestation going to sleep, not the headset.
@@TrekBuilder yeah the bass station. there was an update where it never turned off for me either and i would always unplug it for it to turn off. but then i went through its settings and turned that on and when my pc powers off it also turns off. i had the same problem and for me at least that fixed it
Still have it, still wearing it, but i just ordered Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones since I need that ANC.
Can the display on the station be dimmed?
Will the headband get loose overtime as my arctis 7 headband get loose overtime. Planing to get arctis nova pro wireless soon
does the xbox version work good with PC or do you loose features ?
I really wanna buy a new Steelseries but their headsets are plauged by the mute button not staying latched and beeping/turning on and off
Can someone tell me if I can use any 3.5mm jack on Arctis Nova Pro wired or does it need the proprietary 5pole to 4 pole 3.55 jack for the mic to work? Because I've bought on that came with 4 pole on both ends and no mic functionality with those. Wondering if my mic is Dead on arrival.
Do you have a set up guide for Xbox 😕
thanks for the vid! hope your eye is okay!
What about the crackling issue found with these headphones? I have these headphones
I used the Nova Pro Wireless since its launch, and the base station now has some OLED burn in. It’s pretty noticeable from afar, but doesn’t bother me too much. I do think this is a pretty poor design choice though.
Has this been fixed at all?
How friendly are they for glasses? I’m looking to buy a new headset because mine are old & they hurt me when I use my glasses
my frames are wire thin, and the leather muff causes me no discomfort at all, but if you have thick framed plastic frames id recommend getting a more cushioned earmuffs, they are easily swappable. you'll lose out on the noise cancelation quality but its super worth it even without noise canceling.
So did they only just bring out an update with the white version only?
I have the Arctis pro wireless, and sadly they have just broke after 3 years or so. Should I get the nova for a next pair or go for another wireless pro lol *decisions decisions* :D
get the nova pro
Im about to purchase my first steelseries headset. I had my eye on the black. Do any of the black versions have the new small nub?
Hi, I recently bought the black one and mine has this newer small nub. Date on my box says 2023 - 08
@@Klinkguin thanks for that. Appreciated
Techne, please recommend me a headset for my pc that will be amazing to listen to music but also good for gaming
Sadly I was one of those that went back to IEMS because I couldn’t get rid of the crackling in the headset
Hi, which one is better, the deathadder v3 pro, the pulsar xlite v3 or the g502x (wired), my hands are 18.1cm x 9.3cm (currently using g502h but it's to heavy). If it was the pulsar which size would you suggest?
I'd say the steel series nova pro would be a good bet
is the newer version also in black or is it only the white one?
Can someone help me? They arrived like 2 days ago (wired ones, not wireless) and im trying to find an equalizer settings to make them sound good, but they just wont. Everything feels weird. Do i just have to wait to get used to them (i used the hyperx cloud 2 for 3 years)
Techne, did you notice an improve on sound and mic quality, over the previous nova pro?
This will ultimately help me make a decision.
Thank you in advance!
No, same

and what if you go for the open ones instead?
they were like $110 the other day, including the Gsx 300
