I saw a guy on you tube doing this and he just point at the screws and things that needed to come off. The next frame it was all done. I appreciated the way you showed the process.
hey man I just wanted to say thanks for uploading a video on how to change the oil on these bikes. watched this video during the change to make sure I did everything you did. I got a 2012 about three months ago and I love the thing. so thanks again motozombie
vac0002 Absolutely. I try to do as much myself as I can.

+MotoZombie ...but doing the servicing yourself doesn invalidate the standard Honda warranty on the bike? Here in Italy Honda bikes have 4 yrs warranty, but it's valid only if you do the servicing at an authorised Honda center. What is it like in the US?
+Adriano Pedalà in Canada, you can just bring the bike in for the first service. Then you can do it yourself but have to keep receipts for the oil and filter you bought. It does not void the warranty as long as you use oil that meets or exceeds the manufacturer specs. :)
Hey, where did you go? Havent seen anything else you posted for 5 months now. I have the same soft bags on my nc700x. Most of the maintenance on this bike is easy; from valve checks to sprocket/chain replacement. However, the air filter replacement will be a PITA due to all the top plastic has to come off.
Thank you for that awesome instructional video. Helps me know what to expect when I end up changing the oil on mine. I'm curious to know where you got that tube you used to add the oil. I tried googling "oil filler tube" and "oil tube" but came up with nothing. I'd love to get something like that myself to make my life easier.
Thomas Kimble Agreed. Mine is a 2013 also. I paid closer to 7k with the rear rack. Odometer was at 0 miles when i drove away i was shocked. :) Its first mile was mine lol
Did you get the stem mount Rammount or handlesbars? I went with the latter because it makes it higher and you have to take your eyes off the road for a shorter period of time. I have generic panniers and just let them flop because they don't hit the tire.
Just hit the 600 mile mark on my new 2015 Nc700x. Should I be able to do the whole service to this bike myself? I have the necessary equipment for the oil change.
This looks so simple that even I can do it! What's the tube you used to fill the oil back up called? I may want to grab one myself rather than use a funnel.
MIRAJ THAKKAR I used the K&n 204 filter and the Honda brand 10-40 as seen in the video. The bike has 800 miles. As far as oil analysis at different miles you will have to check Honda's Website for that information.
Torque: 26 N·m (2,7 kgf·m, 19 lbf·ft) for oil filter Torque: 30 N·m (3,1 kgf·m, 22 lbf·ft) for drain bolt you should use a torque wrench for good maintenance

Just bought the same bike, thanks for the video! Looking forward to your others as well.
Nice one mate, I just bought myself this model which I collect tomorrow. It's good to see your vids so I can get familiarised before collecting
+MadStu Awesome!!! Its a great commuter bike for sure.

cntryboy400 My pleasure my friend thank you. I will do a o-ring chain maintenance video soon. Ride safe and enjoy the wind :)
Thanks. You just reminded me that I have to change the oil in my NC700x as well.

It's nice when you save money by doing stuff yourself. Ride safe.

+davidleoncampbell Sorry man RL crazyness still here :) More to come when thing settle down.
That looks like warehouse in there and Cortech makes good bags. Like your homemade oil pan.
***** Yea that's the warehouse at work the owner don't mind if i use it. I will be mount the bags this weekend. Getting ready for a camping trip.
thanks dude ... for uploaded this video...

Great vid, thanks!

should it not be 10w 30
Very helpful video, thanks for uploading.
My pleasure. More to come spring of 2017.
I really liked the video! Will check your others ;)
I wish I did the maintenance myself, I love working on the bike and taking care of it :D
Nice video.
Thank you.
+SuperLaplander Thank You more to come as the riding season gears up. :)
Hello, do you know how replace the air filter I have same bike
fill de new filter with new oil. Is good for the engine care.
Great bikes, what year is yours? Bought my 2013 new 4 months back for 6k plus tax.
Thomas Kimble Agreed. Mine is a 2013 also. I paid closer to 7k with the rear rack. Odometer was at 0 miles when i drove away i was shocked. :) Its first mile was mine lol

***** I got the universal handlebar mount. I like the idea of of being a bit taller for the same reason. I might do the same with the Panniers.

could you please put oil and filter specs for Honda NC700x in comment ? Also oil change miles chart if you have any.

How long did you let the main oil drain for?
Is there nothing else to service @ 600 miles? Bought myself a new nc750x today so just wondering what i have to do on the first service.. Cheers!
Martin Verkaik Oil change, adjust clean and lube chain, check all fluids and make sure all bolts are tight. That's about it I believe. Cheers Bro
MotoZombie What about your warranty? Dont you have to let a official Honda dealer service your bike if you want to keep the warrany? thnx! :)
Martin Verkaik My warranty was only 1 year. Also if you keep records it shouldn't be a problem.
May I ask which bolts to check for tightness?
Torque: 26 N·m (2,7 kgf·m, 19 lbf·ft) for oil filter
Torque: 30 N·m (3,1 kgf·m, 22 lbf·ft) for drain bolt
you should use a torque wrench for good maintenance
