g'day sheepfans. Today, admittedly inspired by The Sheep Game, i went to watch the sheering and wool handling at a local show. It was plenty interesting and exciting but only since I now understand a little from watching Cammy. I was also proud to recognise some breeds. Anyways - time to watch the Vid 😊
Between Flock Watch and your TePari you are a high tech sheep farmer, quite a leap from where you started. Well done Hope Lizzy is feeling well. Love to Jock 🌟!
Love the positivity mate, we've had a gruelling couple of trips to the mart recently ourselves. Any day you're reasonably healthy and doing what you enjoy is a good one. 🔥🔥
It’s great waking up to your smiling face and a video. Well wishes to all the family. Please let us know when the wee one makes his arrival. Love from South Alabama USA ♥️
Greetings from Midwest USA! I discovered your channel from Sandi Brock and I love it. A sheep farmer myself, I need the encouragement from your videos….thank you. I’m really impressed by the “pocket” shearing machine. I’ve never seen one before! Where did you get it? It’s the coolest thing ever! BTW, prices crashed here as well last fall. Hoping for a comeback this winter as I will have fall lambs ready pretty soon! Love it when the boys are also in the video! Loved seeing Angus in another vid!
At the end of the day Cammy, selling prices are out with your control if grass is only being fed. Still over £100!!!! though - not bad 👍🏻 Thanks for the video and your honesty! ❤
Another great video! Love the sheep, who are naturally the stars of the show…I’m in thee middle of breeding season and have a slow mo ram that I have to back up with another who I wasn’t planning on using. It might be time for him to go to market but he’s a 162kg ram that gives us enormous lambs…usually 45kg by week six for weaning. He’s actually practically a pet for 10 months of the year (only dangerous during breeding season)
Always appreciate that you are positive when others would be whining and moaning. You can't control lamb prices, best not to mither about things beyond one's control. I always say if you keep your flock healthy the lambs others would have lost, that you'll have to sell, can make up the difference in a small drop in prices.
It must be tough to sell-off so many lovely little lambs. I think I would be terrible as a lamb "Farmer/Herder/Owner?", I couldn't bear to send them to market. Positive Vibes!!!
Love your videos. Informative for us and your assistants. Teaching them necessary, useful things they don’t learn in school is great. I’m glad the bottom has not dropped out of the market. Don’t see why it should. Meat is necessary. I miss the music and last intro. I understand updating to include sponsees but it was so cute hour you timed sheep movement with music.
First video I have ever watched of yours. Very good 👍 I'm a fan. I am a sheep farmer as well in waupun wi USA. I would love to have some of your equipment. Looks like a great operation 👍
Welcome Shawn! I'm a long time American fan of Cammy's. He offers a lot of varied content - lambing, shearing, scanning for pregnancy, selling/buying and amazing Scottish scenery. All with a positive attitude and sense of humor.
A boy Cammy another good video 👍🏻. You had one of those days 🤣. Pup acts up first thing in the morning you know it's gonna be one of those days, even Meg was looking at ya saying "what were you thinking Cammy" 🤣🤣. I thought you did well on the lighter lambs, bigger lambs were worth more but that's how it goes, have to take the good with the bad.
Don't feel bad mate ... I once drove 12 miles before I remembered I'd forgotten the trailer. Which is also where I'd left my phone and my mate. Good lad he had found my phone when he tried to ring me. I confess I may have had a couple of drams (=half a bottle) the night before 😳
I heard a story of a guy who was taking his girl fishing. They stopped for fuel and snacks. While he was inside paying for snacks she got out and unhooked the trailer. He didn’t realize he left his boat at the gas pump till he was almost to where they were going fishing. Cammy I think your ahead of the game. At least you looked to make sure your trailer was fallowing you. 😂😂😂
Last year our lambs brought over $3.00/lb. This year prices are around $2.00/lb for prime lambs. I am holding mine until the weather turns colder and the Muslims start cooking more. Feed prices are higher this year so a lot of producers are shipping lambs early. Large runs of lambs at the sale barns. Hopefully that means less lambs available in December. Price drops a lot after 90-100lbs so it is a tricky marketing situation.
Well done to sell 90 lambs without any hard feed, good to move on before the weather takes a turn. Your lambs weighted well off grass, onwards and upwards.
That was a great look at how it’s done ✅ my mate works on a sheep place near me in Australia 🇦🇺 they have 15.000 sheep 🐑 it blows my mind the amount of work that goes into sheep 🐑 it really does ! Another great video Cammy. One question: Are you required to crutch the lambs prior to sale or is that something you do on your own? Really enjoyable video, thanks.
Always fascinating to see the market videos, supply and demand in action. Still a good sale even with prices down. I love watching the lambs come out of the trailer, it’s practically magic how many of them fits in there!
Good job Cammie! You’re raising some beautiful sheep. I wish mutton and lamb were more prevalent in my area. You guys are being ripped off. I priced it. @@TheSheepGame I'm not sure of the rules for import of animals raised in the UK - we went kind of crazy after mad cow diease. Agreed. Don't see lamb sold often in stores and when it is it is very expensive. To get it at a restaurant, you usually have to go to a Middle Eastern establishment. Just like goat is found at Hispanic restaurants.

Just out of curiosity, is it kind of normal that the earlier in the year you get them to market the more they fetch or is that not true, in a general sense...obviously nothing is 100% all the time when it comes to livestock sales. Also, is there such a thing as "private treaty" or contract sales where you're selling directly to the processor or is that just not a practice that is followed? Thanks for the video, good info as usual, and hope the market makes a little rise for you all coming into the Holiday season.
Thanks. Yeah trade usually starts high, drops about now then climbs again after New Year. Some people sell direct and price is agreed before they take lambs in. They were paying £5kg deadweight this week.
I will never understand why at the sale the idea seems to be how terrified we can make the animals. It just seems so stressful when it does not have to be.
Why not pen the sheep in the fank overnight if you have an early start ? Easier than rounding them up in the field. Maybe not good enough conditions for them to be overnight.
Like your videos Now let me tell you what happened when I sold my Kids this week? The price never came close to cover my cost. 🤬 Well there’s always next year. 🐐❤️

The scales were in this vid if u watch it back. It was a big metal pen that the stand in and they are weighed 20+ at a time. 😁
@@TheSheepGame Thanks! I was wondering if that was it. :)
Just felt it was too many to leave shut in this time Jimmy 👍

Now let me tell you what happened when I sold my Kids this week?
The price never came close to cover my cost. 🤬
Well there’s always next year. 🐐❤️
Yeah not sure how u get round that. Most popular red meat in the world!!
It’s just been one of those years.
Thats interesting. So for farmers selling their sheep the prices drop. And for customers buying sheep products the prices rise. So who benefits from all that?
Someone in the middle i imagine 😅
Howdy
Hi have you any stickers???
Sorry Neil we don’t.
That's OK thank you for getting back to me
You ever keep any for food for the family??
Yeah we’ll do a few at Xmas!
I think that farmers should get more 4 lambs every week not just average weights
