Getting to Shinagawa is when I REALLY started to love the game. I liked the first area, but for a moment I thought that was gonna be the entire game, just that one map. And the song was getting old. Then you get to this area with the song that's way better IMO, and the atmosphere completely changes. Sure it's super easy to get lost with the different heights, but I had a great time here. Also, hearing Bugs nearby is the most frightening sound ever lol
But first Da'at has two songs, dungeon theme only starts halfway point before Hydra around when you talk to Atsuta, before that the tutorial keeps playing a different song, this song doesn't play anymore after or even if you go back so its easy to forget.
When I hear people legitimately claim that SMT V's exploration and dungeon crawling isn't fun I actually get into shock. This is by far the best game in the series for that, the world is so well made, I'm not even looking for stuff that powers up the party but just generally taking in that amazing atmosphere.
Exploration yes, dungeons no. In SMT V there are only 3 dungeons, first one is way to simple, second dungeon is tedious and annoying, third is exploitable by Estoma. All of them are rushed.
the red sky in this part of the game really made looking for Miman a pain in the butt. the couple around north shinagawa were assholes to get to, but for different reasons.
The entire soundtrack gives such a huge boost to the oppressive atmosphere the game constantly pushes you into. It constantly feels like you're so far out of your depth and there truly are larger forces at play that you cant even begin to comprehend
@@HowIin I thought the writing was fine, it was a pretty straightforward story that punches you in the gut with tons of moral ambiguity regardless of who you side with in the end. I think thats perfectly on brand for a game as dark and nihilistic as SMT
Have you ever imagined what would be the background music of the backroom/poolroom or liminal spaces in general? well here is the answer. Someone should make a compilation of liminal spaces/backroom/poolroom but with this music in the background.
This upload is immaculate. This is one of my favorite movements in the game and it makes me happy I can share it easily with other people, the merging is high quality as is the backgrounds.
this area was the highlight of the game for me in terms of soundtrack. My god, every area here bangs and its a sweet reward after the (while fitting) ambient tracks of Minato. That, and you get the fairy forest theme after this, what a great section of the game
